Forrest Gump 9
I am going to get a 1/2 ton front diff, and do some fab work to get it in there. Then I'll take all the front shafts and have some made to work. I also think I'm going to look for a 2wd TBSS rear end and get some axels made. May be look into the gmc syclone/typhoon front diff and transfer case??
Fubar231
This is pure awesome! I remember thinking when you were building this truck how sweet it would be if the powertrain was in a little colorado instead of the huge silverado. This thing is just going to be epic! I love it. Can't wait to see the finished product!
brent1976
May be look into the gmc syclone/typhoon front diff and transfer case?? In the Colorado the transfer case is on the passenger side, so no matter what it will take some work to get it in there. AWD would be cool, but I like being in 2wd 99% of the time, because it's just less stuff to break most of the time.
brent1976
Oh yea, I got my wheels switched. They stick out a little bit, so I will have to see if I can live with them. It needs to come down in the back, and the step bars are coming off. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s316/brent1976_photos/Snapbucket/1AE4C093.jpg
Fubar231
This is gonna be so awesome. Any plans for tint? Feel like that would make it look much cleaner (After you pull the step-bars and lower the rear).

brent1976
I peeled of all the stickers, and pinstripes, and took off the old man step bars. My buddy details cars, so I helped him wash, buff, and wax it yesterday. Then today I tore into putting in the seats I picked up cheap. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s316/brent1976_photos/Snapbucket/CB756340.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s316/brent1976_photos/Snapbucket/D20372C1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s316/brent1976_photos/Snapbucket/B092C05D.jpg

zeitgeist57
It's amazing how much the wheels and seats change the attitude of that truck. Looks great so far, Brent!!!
brent1976
Well those seats are a huge upgrade. Looking forward to seeing this come together. The stockers are like sitting on a pillow on a kitchen chair. Horrible. I can't wait for a little power, because I drove my other truck Saturday, and I miss it. Clay, I would have came to C&C with the nice weather, but the wife got in the way. Maybe this week if the weather is good. Thanks for the compliments everyone. I will start a project thread as soon as I start under the hood.
zeitgeist57
Yes...this weekend looks good for CC&C. Temp is just barely there, but sunshine always helps. I've got Cleetus totally stripped waiting for paint...I've got hardener/respirator/paintsuit coming via Amazon...will get at it this weekend. HOORAY LATE SEASON TEE-RUK PROJECTS! brent1976
I got new black fender flares to replace the flat gray ones, and the window tint done. I did some work on a car for a 6.0L and have a tranny waiting to go in, I just need time to get it done but we have been slammed at work. Then I can drive the silverado while I figure the drivetrain out on this thing. I have been lowering the front a little bit at a time to figure out how low I can go without rubbing the fenders with the tires then I will bring the rear down to match. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s316/brent1976_photos/Snapbucket/8CFB2AD2.jpg
zeitgeist57
Lovin' it, Brent! I liked it with the old fender flares, too...but the little touches make the difference and I really like the way this project is going... Props on scoring a 6.0L engine as a service barter deal!!!
