verse
Xtreme is one of our commercial accounts at #0787. They aren't a bad group of people, but I haven't bought a car off of them either. The owner is a fat slob, but has some sweet old cars. Then if its a later one with the 3.6 its a bastard case. More power to anyone who actually likes these but I'd never even consider owning one. My dad has one (220k and still drives like new) my aunt has one, a few friends have them (all 3400 engines) and they have been fantastic vehicles. Wheel bearings every 80k and the window regulators suck (or maybe the clips break, I can't remember) but everything else is gravy. I have driven my dad's on several road trips and they are 100000x more comfortable than any CRV

Just wait until the rear hatch doesn't open. Any GM car needs wheel bearings.

pontiacfreak142
stopped and checked it out. from what i can tell (it was covered in snow) it is pretty clean inside and out and from the little i could see up underneath, it looked pretty clean also (no leaks). It is sitting on what im pretty sure is a buy here pay here lot, but couldnt find anyone to talk to about it, so i would just call the guy and ask him about timing belt and such like others have mentioned, just to be on the safe side. The_buster
My dad looked at it since he was working out that way he said the valve cover leaks and the oil cap smells like gas? And it doesn't look like it had the timing belt changed. He did say it was very clean underneath.
pontiacfreak142
its possible, like i said, i didnt exactly get to look under the hood.
The_buster
What could cause the smell? He said blow by. Would it need rebuilt? We already planned on doing timing belt on whatever we get just as a precaution.

stangsn95gt
In all seriousness I hope you have good luck with this. The buster
Green Bastard
Now that you have it, I would do a tune up, oil change, that leaking gasket, timing belt if it hasn't been done, and a compression test. Congrats on getting something practical and (if you take care of it) most likely reliable.
