The CNC project was awesome. Ahren at CNCRouterParts can get you a pretty well ready-to-fire kit. (~4k) Once the motion components are worked out, you can use it for plasma, printing, plotting, whatever.

 

That one's 2'x4' machine w/ a Hitachi router and some PreciseBits colletry.

 

Assembling the machine has been a lot more fun than using it - there's a friggin' crazy learning curve. And cutting things with a rotating bit involves a helluva lot more science than expected, but I'm getting there. Have some videos up, will share another time.

 

It'll cut materials up-to-aluminum, but doesn't have the nuts for steel/similar. Probably.

Aaron -- hows that Golf R? Buddy of mine totaled his 2.0T A3 a few days ago (Gemini/Polaris, rush hour - if you were stuck it's his fault)

 

I'm thinking the R use the same Haldex&stuff as S-line A3, and my VR is shitting out .. R3?
