Putty
Cocksuckers won't allow steel 5.56 or 7.62 anywhere. During this ammo strike I piled up on what I could get...mainly steel. Now I wanna bust some and can't!

Putty
Ranges are making a killing picking up all the brass and selling it off to be reloaded.
jeffro
Outdoor ranges only. The steel bullets hit the steel backdrops which spark and is considered a fire hazard. ross
Why would you even want to shoot 5.56 or 7.62 at an indoor range?

I didn't realize they were different other than the casing. Why would you even want to shoot 5.56 or 7.62 at an indoor range? Ummm clearly by this post I have no place else to shoot them. sol740
Wait, are these steel-core, or steel-case, or both? I just assumed indoor ranges didn't want to seperate the steel casings from the brass.
Mark1647545493
Steel core ammo is what indoor ranges don't want you to shoot.
LJ
Steel core ammo is what indoor ranges don't want you to shoot. They won't let you shoot anything that sticks to a magnet, core or casing

You may shoot your steel ammunition here: http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM1BWF_Delaware_State_Park_Waldo_Ohio I always thought it was the whole "steel doesn't expand to keep the gas and powder in" routine that stopped you from shooting it indoors?
