Bucks jumped all the way to #6 in class rankings with these two pickups.

On ESPN... which I wouldn't ever use for anything. On the 247 composite OSU is up from 25 to 13.

About a month ago OSU was somewhere around 60 and they'll be comfortably inside the top 10 by the end of this month.

Just heard them talking about this on the radio. Sounds like Devin Smith got in a pretty bad wreck Sunday but appears to be ok. They said alcohol could have factor.

LORAIN — Police say Ohio State University football player Tracy Sprinkle has been arrested on charges of cocaine possession, rioting and failure to disperse after a bar fight in northeastern Ohio.

Ohio State spokesman Jerry Emig said Sunday that the 19-year-old defensive end was suspended from the team because of the arrest.

A Lorain police report said Sprinkle was arrested early Saturday after police responded to a fight at the Grown N/Sexy Bar and found large groups fighting inside and outside of the bar. The report said Sprinkle was first charged with rioting and failure to disperse and later with drug possession after what appeared to be cocaine was found hidden in the seat of a police car where Sprinkle was detained.

Sprinkle was in jail Sunday awaiting a court appearance. No attorney was listed for him.

I still think 20-22 is the number.

Also, there is some smoke out there that Jerome Baker may choose Florida instead of OSU on Friday. Kid has taken 1 visit down there so it would be strange but it's floating around out there.

LJ Scott to MSU. People thought that may happen with the rumblings of a July commitment to OSU from Damien Harris. But now that Scott pulled the trigger I wonder if Harris relaxes and doesn't commit now. The motivation behind it was that he was interested in being the only RB in the class and his commitment could either scare Scott off or have the staff back off of Scott a bit.

And it looks pretty solidly like Baker is going to commit to Florida tomorrow. No matter which way this was going to go tomorrow everyone has been saying it's not over. If he was going to announce for OSU, Florida and Tennessee wouldn't have backed off and when he announces tomorrow for Florida OSU certainly isn't going to back off. In the end people still expect him to sign with OSU...haha.

he definitely has the ability. we all know that it goes to a player from one of the 2 teams in the championship game though.

if he plays like he did last year and we make it there, he can win it. if he plays BETTER than last year and we don't make it. he doesn't have a chance in hell.

it hardly ever goes to THE BEST player in football that year. it goes to the best player on the best team. bit of a difference.

Manziel? 2 Loss team in 2012.

I definitely agree, but it isn't as much so as it used to be.

Manziel put up stupid numbers, same with Tebow the year he won it. The Heisman usually goes to a player on the best team as stated. Also, the award is a joke of an award anymore to begin with, it's a qb's award.

Since 1990 16 winners were qb's, 6 rb's, 1 WR, 1 DB. Since 2000, 12 have been QB's, 2 were running backs.

RG3 put up 47 TD's the year he won it, Manziel had 47 TD's in 2012 when he won it and beat then "unbeatable" Alabama. Tebow had 58 TD's in 2007 when he won it.

For Braxton to have a chance at it, he's gonna have to 1. Stay healthy for an entire season 2. Go undefeated and 3. Put up insane numbers, I'm talking 35 passing and 10+ rushing TD's

I really don't think they want a second 2 time winner, so I don't expect Winston to win it again. I think it'll be the kid from Oregon (Mariotta) honestly as they will put up huge numbers and have a shot at being undefeated (if they can finally beat Stanford).

A lot of misconceptions here...

The media won't let it happen? He finished 5th as a true sophomore on a team that was banned from the post-season.

Has to be from one of the top 2 teams? As people have pointed out... Manziel, RG3, Tebow, etc.

Last year was a nice combination of the best player being on the best team. Same with Cam Newton in 2010 regardless of any off the field shenanigans. Ingram on Bama in 2009 and Bradford on Oklahoma in 2008 were probably the only ones that were kinda meh where they just gave it to a star from one of the top teams just because they were a star on a top team.

If Braxton deserves it, he'll get it.

OSU and North Carolina agree to cancel their 2017/2018 series.

2000 Weinke (FSU played in NCG, lost to Oklahoma)

2001 Crouch (Nebraska played in NCG, lost) Really bad year for the Heisman looking at the numbers

2002 Palmer (numbers won it)

2003 White (Oklahoma #1/#2, lost to LSU in NCG)

2004 Leinart (USC #1)

2005 Bush (USC #1 or 2, lost to Texas in NCG)

2006 Smith (OSU #1)

2007 Tebow (huge numbers won it for him)

2008 Bradford (Oklahoma #1, lost to Florida in NCG)

2009 Ingram (Bama #1)

2010 Newton (Auburn #1)

2011 RG3 (numbers won it)

2012 Manziel (numbers and beating Bama won it)

2013 Winston (FSU #1/#2, won NCG)

So yeah, as mentioned it usually goes to a player on the best team in the country. 10 out of the 14 winners in the 2000's so far have been on the #1 or #2 team in the country and played for the national championship game.

Got bored and went a little further into it

90 Detmer (Huge numbers won it)

91 Howard (numbers won it)

92 Torretto (Miami #2)

93 Ward (FSU National Champs)

94 Salam (2000 yards and Colorado #3

95 George (1900 yards and OSU #2 before losing to Michigan)

96 Wuerrful (Florida #1, National Champions)

97 Woodson (Michigan #2 although they claim it as a national championship)

98 Williams (2300 yards won it)

99 Dayne (2,000+ yards won it)

The 90s were more favorable to non qb's and players not on top teams. However, 5 out of 10 were still on a top 2 teams and Salam was close by being on the #3 ranked team.
