Doubt it on the range finders, these were so cheap because vortex is now selling gen II diamondbacks, good deal regardless.

They should be overkill for me but at a good cost. I've got some Bushnell 10x that are at least 20 years old by now that I'm using.

How does this compare to the Savage 10?

Both are entry level bolt guns. I'd take the savage over this if they were both 500-600 normally. But, you could buy this and a decent stock for it and be at the same price as The savage. I use this very same platform that I bought on Black Friday for 399 to begin my quest to be a good long-range shooter. I was able to consistently hit out to 800 yards with this Gun
