Fubar231
I just reformated my computer, and was curious what people used? I used to use BitTorrent, but ive also heard good things about BitLord. What do you guys use? One of my friends just showed me QBitorrent (Seems like a good torrent app with no ads/extra frills)

jeffro
Old version of uTorrent. I use a newer version of uTorrent only because i cant find an older version. The newer one is loaded with ads, but still fairly thin. Been mostly happy with it.
Turbs3000
I would never torrent, torrenting is bad, I'm a good citizen and follow the rules. With that said I use an older version of uTorrent.

Furloaf
qBittorrent. Use to be uTorrent but it got crappy. Some people have concerns about privacy and adware with it now. I find qBittorrent a lot better regardless anyway.

TeddyBearFromHell
I use BitTorrent Pro with built in virus scanner. There is also a free version without the virus scanner. http://www.bittorrent.com/ A word of caution: I would NOT use any torrent s/w without either TOR or some other "anonomizing" method, such as a proxy connection. Check out this link for a list of providers. http://www.proxysp.com/ I was using TOR until there was some hacks penetrating some nodes. I currently use "Hide My Ass". Your mileage may vary. I dont use torrents anymore. I pay a small monthly fee for a uploaded.net membership instead. There isn't much that isn't uploaded to these type sites. And you can see/check the quality before hand. Not saying you are 100% safe, but Im not aware of anyone thats gotten notices from their ISP.
TeddyBearFromHell
this. I dont use torrents anymore. I pay a small monthly fee for a uploaded.net membership instead. Torrents do come in handy in Linux world as many useful apps and such are distributed that way. I would be careful of the pay sites like uploaded.net (re: Kim Dot Com of New Zealand). If a copyright holder subpoenas them, they most likely will cave and give them your info. There are a lot of "copyright trolls" out there looking to make a buck and the RIAA (Recoding Industry Association of America) would look unfavorably, and a lot of software industry types (Apple, MicroSloth, Oracle, etc). http://dietrolldie.com/ http://fightcopyrighttrolls.com/ https://www.riaa.com/ Back to the subject of torrents, if you're using any torrent s/w, outfits like AT&T, Verizon, Comcast (soon to absorb Time Warner) have programs monitoring traffic for torrent use. Chect out "Torrent Freak" for details and advice. https://torrentfreak.com/ As always, your mileage may vary. jeffro
Ive always been curious about TOR but never really cared enough to look into it. Besides, i hear theres some pretty fucked up shit on there. Something i dont want my IPS knowing i'm looking at. That said, all you have to do is read the comments on most conventional torrents. No comments = don't download.
