What are the "must have" hand tools for working on/building a race car?

 

If you were stocking a brand new shop, what would you be adding to your shopping cart?

 

This is for a shop that is doing everything to build a race car but paint and body work?

Lift would be first on the list. Electric impacts (Milwaukee impacts are tits), a press, big air compressor, media blaster (would be nice to have around), welder, all the basic hand tools you would need. Specality tools can be purchased as needed cause you never know what all you will need for specialty tools.

TV, the bigger and higher the resolution the better. Pulling up PDF diagrams, YouTube Videos, etc is commonplace in the garage now. Love the one in my garage.

Question, will there be any sort of equipment for machining/creating or no? Lathes, valve manchines, head resurfacing equipment... some of us go a bit beyond bolting parts on, hand tools, and "the basics"

My favorite tool is the Milwaukee electric ratchet. The new Fuel ones are even better.

220 power.

 

Welding station. Not just a roll around 110 mig and a helmet, but an actual welding table with vise, magnet angle braces, at least a mig 220 or a tig if the person has the skills. Also an oxy setup with an airline body for braising and cutting.

My opinion would a good compressor, a 2 post lift and a great air impact driver.
