nurkvinny
This Amazonish spolier showed up today. Calls for drilling trunk holes. Nope. What 3m 2 sided tape do I need to stick this bastard for at least a few years http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=536&pictureid=9244
Tinman
I'm sure there are plenty of automotive specific tapes for such an installation but this stuff, https://www.mcmaster.com/75935a21 has really impressed me. We have used it to bond stainless panels together. The panels will bend before the tape releases. It's available in different widths and thicknesses too, just search for double sided tape on McMaster Carr and click the VHB option.
aussiek2000
I just used some of this to do mine, hasn't budged. I believe I used 1" wide though and it hasn't come off in 4 years.
Cordell
A little adhesion promoter under the stuff mentioned above and it’ll stay put, most of GM’s plastic trim is put on with that same stuff.
-Alex-
Got a link for that spoiler? Looks awesome.
Geeto67
I use PUR Betalink, but the kits can be expensive ($30-$40). It is what BMW uses to bond carbon fiber parts to their cars from the factory - probably overkill for your spoiler, esp since you can get 3m tape for like $7. TurboRust
i mean with all the added down force... some clear scotch tape should do right?
nurkvinny
i mean with all the added down force... some clear scotch tape should do right? If I wasn't such a chicken-shit, I'd drill the holes and mount it right.
TTQ B4U
If I wasn't such a chicken-shit, I'd drill the holes and mount it right. Mine came pre-taped from Spoilers Express and is not going anywhere. No need to drill it.
