Man dies in motorcycle crash near home

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

A Blendon Township man was killed this morning in a motorcycle crash near his home on the Northeast Side.

Robert W. Wilson, 41, was driving east when his motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve on Central College Road and crashed into a field east of Lee Road, according to the Franklin County sheriff's office.

Wilson, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:44 a.m. by Westerville paramedics, deputies said. Excessive speed appears to be a factor in the wreck, deputies said.

more info here BLENDON TOWNSHIP—Authorities were called to a fatal motorcycle crash Sunday morning.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

The crash happened at Central College Road, east of Lee Road in Blendon Township before 10 a.m.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred on Central College Road east of lee Road.

The motorcycle, a black Honda 1000, was being ridden by Robert W. Wilson, 41, of Westerville.

Wilson was driving the motorcycle eastbound, failed to make a curve in the road, slid off the right side of the road and came to rest in a field.

Wilson was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at 9:44 a.m. by Westervillle medics.

Alcohol was not suspected currently. Speed was a factor. A helmet was worn. Weather was not a factor.

The Franklin County sheriff’s office was in charge of the accident-investigation scene.

The accident remained under investigation.

No more immediate details were available.

i know exactly where thats at. grew up in that area when it was much nicer than it is now. there have been lots of wrecks up that way. car and bike alike.
