Kind of like people without motorcycles shouldn't be allowed to posted on a motorcycle forum?2 points

I have been trying to stay away from posting in this thread, it has enough stupid that it doesn't need me but this is so interesting I need to learn more. When you say melt do you mean it turns into a liquid pile of mush? Will a hot barrel cause a cook-off? What do you do with a jammed gun that is hot with rounds in it? We need to know these things and be trained so we can carry a magazine feed 33 round sidearm for self defense. I see your point and wish the rest of these dumbfucks would shut up long enough to learn something.2 points

Stop calling it a CCW you asshats. The weapon is a CCW, Concealed Carry Weapon. You are getting a CHL, a Concealed Handgun License.2 points

I agree 10000%. I also believe in mandating that training should be mandated mandatorily prior to the populace exercising other protected rights. For example.... we should require mandatory passing of the third fucking grade prior to exercising one's 1st amendment protections. Far fewer grammEr issues on public forums. People truly are not smart enough to have the bill of rights without some sort of government intervention. That's what's it's there for, right? Permission?2 points

I posted this on another forum, but figured I would share here also. I went to my local Walmart that I shop at all the time. I also open carry there regularly probably hundreds of times at that particular store. We had our nephew with us so we went down the toy isle and he pickup out some legos. My grandmother in-law wants to shoot my rossi ranch hand so I thought while we were there I would pick up another box of 38 spl. Nobody was at the hunting/firearm counter so my wife went to have someone paged via the automotive counter. The automotive associate had the keys so she opened the case and got the 38 ammo, i noticed an ammo can of 556 and asked to see it. While she was checking me out she asked me if I had a permit for the firearm on my side. I politely told her yes, but I don't need a permit because I was open carrying and that was my constitutional right with no permit necessary. I thought that was the end of it. Approx 5 minutes later a female assistant manager and another male associate approached me. They asked to have a word with me so I walked over to them. The female assistant manager whose name I did get asked me if I had a permit for my firearm. I once again politely explained that I do have a permit, but I was open carrying per my constitutional right and no permit was necessary. I explained that if there was a problem I would leave my cart except for the ammo I paid for and leave. She told me that would be best. As I was walking down the main isle towards the door she apologized if she appeared aggressive while talking to me. She told me it was Walmart's policy during the 1st conversation. I told her I would contact corporate and discuss the matter with them. Unfortunetly I had already paid for the ammunition. $200 worth. I usually do not buy ammo at Walmart but didn't want to make a separate trip 15 miles one way to hit the gun shop. My nephew was screaming and very upset while we left because he is 4 1/2 years old and didn't understand why we had to leave his legos behind. I have never been so embarrassed in my life! She treated me like I was a criminal and my poor nephew was so upset. My wife is very upset at Walmart also. She could not believe they treated us like that. I contacted the corporate office just after leaving the store. The person who answered the phone at the corporate complaint line explained that it sounds like the assistant manager over stepped her authority. A ticket (email?) has been sent to the district manager to contact me. They said it could be 3-5 days to be contacted. I asked if there was anyway I could return the ammo, but he said no. I knew that would be the answer since most anywhere ammo is not returnable. I will update when I hear from the district manager. Wife is also upset because she can't shop at Walmart for now at least, and we live in small town. She may have to travel further to shop and be able to get everything on her list. Update: Received the phone call from the district manager. She informed me that the manager didn't have the authority to ask me if I had a permit. The manager was trying to calm the nerves of the automotive associate that sold me the ammo. Apparently me carrying and buying ammo made her nervous although I didn't buy the caliber I was carrying. Personally I think my 3 stooges shirt with Obama, Pelosi, and Reed didn't help. My guess is I hurt her(automotive associate) liberal feelings.I had 37 rounds for my carry gun, I think I was prepared enough. The district manager was very very apologetic and explained that she has a CHL. The district manager assured that they will be retrained, and I will not have this issue again. They obviously can't tell me what if any punishment will come of this.1 point

Not as easy as it sounds, have you ever tried ripping off a moving belt? Yup, but you forgot 1 huge factor... Remain calm, it's too easy to forget the steps if you panic. I have seen plenty of guys crack under pressure and forget simple things like SPORTS and SLAP. Have you ever served? again don't believe the media if your a civilian. Alot of shit goes on that you will never ever see or hear about... Your and you're... One is possessive and one means you are.... I don't see where I confused the two?1 point

I carry, I don't open carry. No reason for it unless you are an attention whore.... IMHO This thread furthers my view. Yes it's your right. But it does cause problems and makes gun owners look bad, period.1 point

If he says things that are wrong, such as no carry in a bar, then perhaps we can edumacate him? Probably not going to change his overall opinion of carrying, but there's a chance that a reasoned, well thought out argument <might> if not change his opinion completely, soften it some. Then again, maybe not. He's entitled to his opinion, no matter what anyone else thinks of it. Yes, he seems to have issues with either his phone, or auto correct, or just not giving a damn about grammar, grammer, grandpa, capitalization, sentence structure, paragraph breaks, or punctuation, but that's hardly a trait on this forum that's unique to him, is it? Unless we want to prove the AFJ crowd correct, there's no reason at all to ban him, even from a sub-forum. What was it that Frog Voltaire said? "I disagree strongly with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Just my humble $0.022 worth.1 point

Pellet/BB guns in the kitchen tend to ricochet pretty bad. How would I know that? Poisoned mice can get goofy or paranoid phobic. Result is either drunken drag racing all night long, or freaked out half dead mice standing in the middle of the room afraid to move. I've seen both.1 point

We are talking about one of the 10 amendments listed in the bill of rights. The ten freedoms that our founding fathers felt strongly enough to describe specific protections against government infringement. To require a government-sanctioned training before one can exercise a right is absolutely the antithesis of those first 10 amendments. So there be blood in the streets.... babies capping babies.... full-auto snubbies.... they can take our lives, but they'll never take our FREEDOM!1 point

I didn't think you were interested in owning or carrying firearms. Maybe the should require a reading and writing competency test. Perhaps a test on slander, libel, and other potential crimes surround the 1st amendment. Why can't you keep your ignorance to yourself? It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt1 point

Why do you think there will be an increase in accidental discharges? And how does the government making me take a class on safety gonna make me a safer gun owner? Training, and more training will make you a safer gun owner not the 12 hour class that they make you take. If they cared about the safety of the people They would mandate a course. right now they have no set class that must be taught. There is no guideline for what is to be taught at the class. And also no requirement as to how the shooting portion of the test must be done. I have heard of people who had to hit a 10 inch paper plate 5/10 shots from 10 feet with a .22 to pass their test. Does that make you feel safe? With that kind of training, we might be better off not having a test and just a background check like when you buy a firearm.1 point

Exarch, don't EVER push yourself if you're not comfortable. You are never forced. Don't give up on group rides, you will learn a lot and most will wait at stop signs/lights. And it's not because there is someone slow in the group, it's courtesy to make sure no one went down. I used to ride with ninjanick on his 14 all the time on my 250 plus all the hocking rides..and I will still be in the back because that's where I'm comfortable.1 point

Just had Joe leave the house, showed up right at 7pm per agreed upon time, and was out by a little after 8pm. Found a bad capacitor that was slowing the AC start up and only running at 1/2 power. Told me it would be 80 to pay someone to come change it, or I could buy it online for 5, I actually got it delivered online for 8.50 shipped. Showed me how to install it, and saved me 72 bucks. Not to mention even with a coupon a tune up is over 75 PLUS weekend costs because I don't get home until 6pm or later. Then we went outside and he talked to me about my AC unit because it had been replaced, and showed me a few things. 1 to help the motor last longer, and another to help with coil cleaning which we did and it definitely cleaned out some shit that I couldn't even imagine being there. I would guess that will make a huge difference since the coils are obviously huge in cooling. 50.00 well spent and I highly recommend him.1 point

Ohio law in/on a motor vehicle has been changed, it's my understanding you can have the gun on and or transporting in the vehicle anyway that you like? As long as you are not pointing/displaying the actual unholstered gun or waving the gun at somebody, or acting in a threatening way....how is that brandishing? Technically I could now have my gun half concealed on my person while riding and I am not breaking the law, the police may not see it that way but I believe I am correct? Like I said, I am typically open carrying when I ride anyways so this is really a moot point. As we all know there are gray areas when it comes to carrying, I would not be making a threat toward the aggressor, it would be more of a "don't fuck with me anymore". Y'all do as you wish, everything we do or don't do is a judgement call anyways. I wonder how most would react if you honestly feel your life may be in danger, bad things happen fast. Read this and pay special attention to rule #4, hence the gray area I am talking about.......my statement stands on what I would "more than likely" have done in that bad situation. http://www.ohioccw.org/201106304942/new-rules-for-vehicle-carry-the-other-half-of-sb17.html1 point

A new CEO takes over at a struggling company and decides to get rid of all the slackers. On a tour of the facilities, the CEO notices a guy leaning on a wall. He can't believe this guy would just stand around on the job. The new CEO walks up to the guy leaning against the wall and asks, "What are you doing here?" "I'm just waiting to get paid," responds the man. Furious, the CEO asks "How much money do you make a week?" A little surprised, the young fellow replies, "I make about $300 a week. Why?" The CEO quickly gets out his checkbook, hands the guy a check made out to cash for $1,200 and says, "Here's four weeks' pay, now get out and don't come back." The man puts the check in his pocket and promptly walks out. Feeling pretty good about himself, the CEO looks around the room and asks, "Does anyone want to tell me what just happened here?" From across the room comes a voice, "Yeah, you just tipped the pizza delivery guy $1,200."1 point
