  1. It would be better with a big dude on the back. Had a great time, made it back safe and dry. Can't wait to do it again. Great to see and party with everyone again. Soo many good stories.

  4. So, the other day in Hillsboro, I saw a fellow OhioRiders.net bike sitting in the parking lot of the hospital. It was a Kawasaki ZX-6R, I believe. I was wondering if you (owner of the bike) find this thread that you will trying and get in touch with me. I am always looking for other riders, especially fellow OhioRiders.net. Currently, I have a VTX1300C and a CRF450X-SM that I in the process of trying to sell so I can replace the supermoto with a sportbike. Anyways, look me up sometime. See you around. 6. I'll start with the important stuff: Ride your own ride. Enjoy the weekend. Be safe. This is not a competition or a race. This is just a good weekend away with friends. You are responsible for yourself. This is, of course, an "at your own risk" event. Motorcycling is dangerous. These roads are dangerous. Be careful. Ohio Riders (and/or it's owners, blah blah blah) cannot be held liable for anything (like, but not limited to, traffic tickets, accidents, stupidity, death, etc). Alright, on to the fun stuff. Last year was so much fun. Everything is pretty much the same this year. Nothing is officially organized. There are no set routes. It just happens to be a weekend for a bunch of us to meetup down there to have some fun. The weekend is up to you. When you come down, where you ride, who you ride with, where you eat, where you stay (Fontana Village discounts below if you want to stay there), etc is completely up to you. There will be shindigs in the evenings involving fire, hopefully at the same firepit as last year (noted below), for us to sit around and tell lies about women, motorcycles, amazing drinking stories, etc. Last year, the only complaint I heard was from a few folks who had a hard time finding people to ride with. I felt pretty bad about this actually. With the total lack of organization for this little adventure, it made it a bit difficult for folks to meet. This was especially true since the "organized" part was on Saturday night, the night before most of us left for home. So this year I want to do it a little different. I want to have a meet n' greet style get together Thursday night. This will most likely be at my cabin around a small fire. We had an impromptu thing last year, but not everyone knew about it. This way folks can meet, discuss where they want to ride, and plan a meetup. Plan on booking early. The FZ1 shindig, SV Rally, and the R1/R6 guys are going to be down there the same weekend again. Things will probably start booking quickly. I'll post up here as soon as reservations are open. To make it easier to find folks to ride with, stay with, etc... I created a subforum just for this: http://www.ohiorider...splay.php?f=182 Fontana Village 300 Woods Road Fontana Dam, NC 28733 828-498-2211 www.fontanavillage.com Ohio Riders Group Discounts: Lodge rooms with two queens beds -- $95 per night 2bdr Hemlock cabins (1 queen, 2 twins, 1 bath, newly updated, have their own firepits) -- $149 per night Campsites (allowed two tents per site) -- $20 per night Reservations are open! https://maps.google....Fontana Dam, NC ---------------------------------------------------- Updates: - The FZ1 guys reserved the firepit for both Friday and Saturday nights. I've sent an email to their organizer to see if it's okay if we share it like we did last year. I doubt they'll have a problem with this. And it was a blast hanging out with them Saturday night last year. I'll keep you all updated. - A few sponsors will be giving us some swag to give away down there. 16. Unless I literally got mud all over a bike, which never happens, I don't wash my bikes. All you need is to wipe down your ride with a microfiber cloth and a bottle of Turtle Wax Ice detailing spray. Spritz it on, immediately wipe off with the first cloth and then buff lightly with another microfiber cloth. My bikes are immaculate at all times and I ride constantly. Just wipe it down every ride and hit the rims every 2-3 times. I seriously cannot remember the last time I used water on a bike.

  17. Great time. Made it home safely. Didn't meet my goal of passing a squid on a Gixxer on the 150 Scoot (with luggage compartment). But met my other goals. Glad to meet some old faces and some new. Never got rained on while riding. Glad I choose the simple route on Friday. I agree with Pauly, the scooters are a blast. FYI, Honda 150 faster than Zuma 125 with Pipe). Chris

  27. Just successfully spanked it to the pics of your bike. I finished on the cat so she can clean it up. That frees me up to creep among my sleeping neighbors houses to see what I can steal and hock to afford this gorgeous machine....do you know anyone that wants to buy some nice new white babies? We can work something out, ill throw in a slightly sticky cat to close the deal. Pm me soon, these stupid babies won't eat beef jerky or baloney sammiches and they make a lot of noise.

  29. This^^^An overpriced, tiny, rwd momentum car.....it would absolutely suck driving it in the winter And I concur with Sam, the TC is the only Scion I could tolerate seeing in our stable. Her little Celica was a chore for my broadness to climb in and out of without a shoe horn and a stick of margarine, not to mention it rode like a brick. It handled great, but not so practical when my daughter is with us - back seat looked like a leather wrapped pine bench. I'd been pushing her to replace it for a while and glad she finally got what she wanted......again

  31. The police have every right to prevent you from injuring yourself or putting others in danger. To run into a burning building putting yourself and others in danger is not parental rights. Police and fire do not have the ability to know at that exact moment whether or not someone is alive in a burning house. What they do know is a man is trying to run into a building putting himself and others in danger. And even if the child was alive, now we have to stop operations of trying to find and rescue the child and put our efforts into finding and saving the father, even lessening now the chance of finding and saving the child because we KNOW where the father is and that he was alive just before reentering the house. Emotions are a dangerous thing at an emergency scene. They cannot be a priority no matter how right or how strong we may feel about them. It gets people hurt and killed unnecessarily. That is reality and has nothing whatsoever to do with parental rights. I'm sorry I know this is not a popular opinion with many here. I don't like having to tell folks that their loved ones are dead, I've held dead babies in my arms, its not something I relish. But if there was any way to alleviate the pain by telling people that I did everything humanly possible to save their child and it meant restraining the childs father to make that happen, then again, I'll sleep ok that night and for the rest of my life knowing I did my best.
