  1. I'm 53 and ride big cruisers. When I get older and can't lift a 900 pound bike I will buy a trike or a can am. At which point you can deal with it or blow me. Either way is fine with me. Hopefully that helps you get a feel for this place. We don't judge, except for asshats. Those we are pretty hard on.

  2. The more I think about it the more I want a trike scooter. This would make so many heads explode and would give me great joy

  5. My husband and I finally were able to get out for two evenings together earlier in the week. First time we got two nights away from the kids since my daughter was born 6.5 years ago! We left Sunday morning and came back on Tuesday evening. Rode for two days in West Virginia and the last day in Ohio. West Virginia has Great Roads!! Very impressed. Great sight lines and banked never ending sweepers. Good times! We don't stop much except for gas but here is a picture of some falls in WV. You can also see some of the rain clouds that chased us Monday morning. In WV, we hit 14,36,16,60,41. All of these roads were quite fun. The endless sweepers and banked turns were really a plus. In OH, we hit 26, 800, and 556. 26 has some lane closures and very new pavement (ie asphalt in your front fender - almost as bad as nails on a chalkboard). I haven't been on 800 in a while and had forgotten how much fun a couple of sections are. Did about 265 miles on Day 1, 235 on Day 2 and finished off with about 160 in Ohio. Good trip. Mary

  6. Ya you have definitely improved a lot this season Ryan. If there were a "most improved" trophy you'd get it. But there's not, so you get nothing!

  7. Definitely. I have heard from inexperienced riders that believe the myth that a motorcycle can be turned strictly by leaning on it. The video Twist of the Wrist 2 has a really good demonstration regarding this issue.

  8. Statistically speaking...it's pretty difficult to be that consistently terrible. With all the different combinations of quarterbacks and coaches it almost impossible that NONE of them make any progress. Unless of course your stadium is the Factory of Sadness.

  11. Pretty negitive for only your second post. There's a woman on the FJR forum that rides a spider since she a had a terrible accident about five years ago...she had the back wheels of a semi run over her and her FJR. She rides her spider year round, knows central and northern California motorcycle roads better than most other California riders, takes multi-state rides, rides in all types of weather and posts some of the best pictures and ride reports I have ever seen. Bottom line...she rides...and she has seen the darkest side of motorcycling and still rides. If you think you can tell who's a "real" rider by the type of bike they ride, you might want to keep driving a car.

  12. My biggest beef with the can am is what do you do when there is a big bloated road kill in your lane? How do you choose which tire to pop it with? The plastic front end seems too close to the ground to not get knocked off. Needs a cow catcher like an old steam engine. That said, if I could have afforded one for my dad when he was too weak to keep his bike up, I would have bought it in a second. Taking away his cruiser to sell it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

  19. That's my point, even when you lean, you move the bars to turn ;-)

  20. I give anyone $1000 plus my bike, trailer, and all my gear the minute they can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they can turn in a motorcycle at speed into a corner by only leaning off with no hands on the controls. I suspect I'll still have all my shit and whomever attempts this will have a pile of wadded up bike. So...who's first in line??

  23. Yes, I know who scott russel is. I have see this shit in action first hand with teaching to back it up and actual used it to get the bike to turn quicker, it wasn't with the pegs.

  24. While I agree that ape hangers are stupid, you cannot turn a motorcycle without turning the bars. The bike will not lean unless you turn the wheels out from under it.Shifting your weight (on its own) will not cause the bike to turn.

  26. Why trade a #3 pick for what's going to turn out to be a #15-20 pick? If you're going to trade Trent, why do it mid season when you have no depth at running back? They could have traded him after the season and gotten more for him...or why not just keep him? If Trent turns out to be a top 10 running back, which is pretty likely, we have to watch him do well for another team for 10 years. The Browns are an embarrassment

  31. Buddy of mine bought an S3 when I got my iP5. He said the same thing. I have YET to have to reboot my phone. His S3 needs weekly reboots. My DroidX was even worse. So that's more like iPhones are for people who don't what to have to continually fix broken crap on their phones.

  34. Spreading the impact over an area works for the shovel because it is a relatively light impact.....hit someone on the head with a shovel and it will hurt and maybe break the skin and bone, but it wont cause the brain to smash up against the inside of their skull and cause real damage. You need to surround the head with a crumple zone to extend the impact over time, lessening the internal blow.

  38. Ohio laws are pretty convoluted. IMO 3 wheels does not "usually" make a motorcycle... Motorcycles use gyroscopic motion to stay upright, and require countersteering to turn.. Can am and gw/harley trikes are just shitty roadsters with handlebars where a steering wheel should be. They steer like a car. And yes, if spyders are street legal why not 4 wheelers? 1 wheel in the back is safer than 2? No... its just some stupid senseless classification law... There are 3 wheelers that do countersteer like a motorcycle, and given the physics are the same, I would classify them as motorcycles. and don't give me that shit about how "some people" can't hold up a 2 wheeler, if a paraplegic can do it, so can you...
