Completely normal on an 03 Buell XB. Adjust the clutch per the manual. Check the adjustment 'shoe,' it's a wear part and could be ready for replacement. You can use HD trans fluid or motor oil in the trans. I always used 20w50 in both.3 points

My busa senses were tingling. I see there is a lot of dissatisfaction about your purchase. Let me try to make things right. How about I trade you an '03 for it, straight up? Or I'll trade you an '03 WITH prop rod, for yours plus cash... from you. Or, just the prop rod - $13,000 obo. I will personally guarantee that it was not touched by any 'grease monkeys', ne'erdowells, or generally anyone of the 'lower caste'. All my technicians have a minimum of two Masters degrees, 3 patents, some coursework towards a PhD, and all graduated at the top of their night-school culinary classes while attending Harvard Law, to make sure I only sip the finest Kopi Luwak brew and feast on fois gras whilst in their lobby lined of leather-bound service manuals. Help me, help you.2 points

Im with you paul i bought a front suspension only diamond back from dicks a few years back. It has disc brakes and lots of gears i haveyet to break it under my huge ass. I been running stairs and going hill climbing for the last two weeks trying to get in some other shape than round. Might break the bike out this week to toss into the mix. Down 8 pounds in two weeks, about 50 more to go.1 point

Picked up a dedicated track bike for this season. The bug bit hard last year and didn't want to use my daily bike anymore. I have to miss the first Motoseries at nelsons unfortunately. But plan on being at the rest of them and some Mid-O this year. 2007 Daytona 675 with a 2010 engine. Has a ton of upgrades and way more bike than i'll ever need. If i get time, i'd like to do a different paint scheme this summer. I'll also need to get use to gp shift. Bought some rearsets to turn the daily into gp shift so hopefully i'll get use to it some before the first track day.1 point

I agree with the above put a couple of hundred miles on the bike and pull the plugs again and clean them That way any leftover loose particles should be out You might be surprised how many are on the plug then I would not worry about it unless they look that way at the next oil change.1 point

When I read from the beginning of the thread, I see a bunch of folks trying to help a newcomer (24 posts, and most of them in this thread) with an issue he's all panty-wadded up about and seems determined to stay that way. No gratitude or solution-oriented attitude from the OP. More energy spent on complaining and recording voicemails than just spending $12 and moving on from the drama.1 point

I never planned to run F3 this year. Just xr stock.1 point

Mmmm, I don't know. If it was my bike, I'd be concerned. That's a metric shit-ton of shavings for a bike with 20K miles of wear-in, especially if the oil and filter was recently changed and the plug wiped clean. Some pretty big chunks of metal being shed by something in there. Problem is that you won't know what/why unless you do a tear-down, so I guess the answer is ride it until something breaks…unless yer into some serious wrenching.1 point

Pretty much what all the other guys & gals are saying. Take the MSF safety class and trust what they say to be very useful. ATGATT (All the gear, all the time) - So make sure you always have your gear on, even on a 2 min ride in 99 degree heat. Something I'll add that others haven't added... I'd watch this video after you've learned the very basics of riding - Twist of the Wrist II - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr-Wqs37Ug4 Oh ya, and welcome to OhioRiders.1 point

Doug: If you want to ride some other routes in NKY, send me a msg. That's where I do the bulk of my riding, since the roads in OH have apparently turned to sh-t from our hard winter and no maintenance. Rts 10 and 22 are probably the best known around the Cinti area, but there are other/better roads that are less traveled. Check out the LocalRiders.com forum. Not as large a membership as OR, but several hard-core riders that are a wealth of route info. Welcome to OR!!!1 point

I loath Nancy Grace, but this is awesome! Use headphones because that woman's voice can be construed as cruel and inhuman in the workplace:1 point

I actually came her looking for an exhaust shop catering to custom needs. This seemed like a lot of hoops to jump through just to ask a question, but a few guys I work with like the site so I said what the hell. I have a 1991 supra with a 4.8l Chevy V8 Keep all the hate posts to yourself.-2 points
