Hello guys and gals, new guy here from the Marietta/Parkersburg area. My ride is an 84 s10 blazer set up for strictly drag racing, it has a 408 sbc with a v3 vortech supercharger, th400 trans and a ford 9". I have never ran it in the 1/4, but several times in the 1/8th. Its not fast, but its mine and paid for and keeps me smiling. Last year it ran a best of 6.9x's with serious traction issues, made some adjustments, bought some double adjustable shocks and turned up the boost, can't wait to get it to the track! Any questions, just ask. http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/9E69CF25-6A55-4DAC-89A3-32B53DD6B0B6-2025-000002578F52CADC_zps584b808e.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/C3116F84-C2D9-4470-A7AB-9E6F6C6CC576-2025-000002577EA2B576_zps03b06142.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/29BD610C-43DC-4485-8E60-A77F7EA690CC.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/2BAB694F-07E2-4BDF-9E49-60153CAC2239.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/DF9EA931-CBCA-466A-AA2E-ED1C01E4AC40-1762-000002733F2EA9B1_zpsba96454c.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/771E0B5C-C70F-4867-9AD4-E566CA33A358-1762-0000027330D7C900_zps7913449d.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/fast-95/CFD51915-929C-4E70-B489-89CB55B9719E-5133-000003007B7F0973.jpg5 points

Personally, I would rather we address the issue of backyard pools first. They kill FAR more children than guns. CDC already did a study on that, so we are good to go.5 points

Sounds like a bunch of stuff that "technically" doesn't have to be done to get your ass to the track. De-winterize? just use the damn outhouse Flush the tanks? see above Full mechanical? Start the thing up and drive to the track, run test complete Top off propane? Marty will keep you warm TRS? You forget how to use tie downs over the winter? New generator break in? Run the bitch on the way to the track Fill the water tanks? See de-winterize. Stock with essentials? Oreo's and Bistro...essentials covered Weight dist hitch? I'm sure your fine without the water tanks full3 points

Fuck yeah! Sorry for the dirty words, but this thing has me excited. It's a street legal OMRL mini moto. What's better than that? I don't think I could get to the store quicker, I feel like I never have to leave WOT. I reached 59mph this weekend. I'm happy with that. Can't wait to hit the gap on this thing.1 point

i was disappointed in the Grom, well i guess more myself. 1:01 lap times, was not even close to what i thought i was going to be running. especially when last year i was running 58s on the NSR. seeing how big the grid is in Stock XR makes me wanna ditch racing the grom and get back on an XR for the season.1 point

I wave to mopeds, scooters, bicycles, cars with one headlight, and pretty girls. I'll even wave to a snobby Harley rider and won't get an attitude if he doesn't wave back. I'm an equal opportunity kind of guy. .1 point

That's about as good as it gets in central Ohio. I did that stretch myself last weekend on the new CB. @ 2tall, yeah, I'm sure this sounds kind of lame. Whatever. A lot of us here wish the Hocking hills stretched up into the Scioto valley. But they don't. And if you don't have time for a two hour round trip ride into the twisties, this is all we got.1 point

I said fuck it and downloaded CHrome since i have a Note 3 i figured i would get my IE bookmarks onto my phone this way. I apologize that all the pics are missing but I switched FB pages a while ago (accidentally deleted mine and had to start over) so all the links for the pics have changed. sometime ill get them fixed. here are the latest updates. We bought a house a few years back and I spent some time insulating the garage and building my bike bench. I finally got it all done and spent some time on the bike. I got the motor all cleaned up and put in the bike! lovin the all black look. Looks more like a newer ZX10 compared to an 89. Ill be working on it now that its assembly time! lol. this is where it was when I pulled it out of the basement of the house we were renting. bought a table jack to work on the motor and clean it up. This is the new garage before insulation. for an 89 shes pretty clean! got the exhaust ceramic coated. They are dusty in the pics. insulated garage and bike bench built. Motor is all clean and ready to go in! Only took me and my gf to get the motor in. I actually took the bike off the bench and put the motor on the table jack. I then put the bike on my pit bull rear stand the front I put on my car jack with a 4x6 under the wheel. I lifted the front of the bike and used the car jack and table jack to get the motor into place! Was actually pretty damn easy and didn't scratch a thing!! I LOVE the way it looks now compared to before!!1 point

Well I sent a email to ask what were the channels we had to go through to file official complaints about the conduct of one of their law enforcement officers that patrol the atv trails. Made it sound all official and shit.1 point

You turned off 33/257 just a half mile before a sweet stretch. Next time instead of turning off on Bean-Oller, just keep heading north across the 42 intersection onto Klondike. It's only about 3 miles but it's fairly twisty with hardly any traffic and nice river and forest scenery. Just take it easy the first pass or two - there are a few blind turns to learn and there can be gravel patches after rain. Once you get a good line down it's a blast. If you turn left at the top on 36 and then make the first left after that (right after the bridge), that puts you on 257 south (I know, you were just on 257... if you look at the map it switches once you get to 42) and that leg is still somewhat twisty and fun. Not as much as Klondike, but it's much better maintained and has fewer blind turns. Make a left at the light onto 42 and you're back to where you started if you want to do it all over. That's my local go-to loop if I'm short on time. Do two or three laps one way and turn it around to run it in the other direction. And be aware that all lights on 42 hate motorcycles (at least they did last year when I was there last) so plan accordingly. Or just make it a clockwise loop only and be done with it.1 point

It was great to see more ORDN members out. It only gets to be more fun as you improve. Todd and Adam might be making legitimate runs for a novice points championship if they keep it up. I was corner-working the XR novice race and watching everyone improve throughout the second race, let alone throughout the day. For a guy who has never been on a track before, Ben killed it too. Enjoy this time where you're dropping 2-3 seconds a weekend. You will be turning 1:00 laps in no time, and them spending an entire season chasing that next second. I know i said this at the track, but DO THE ENDURANCE RACE. it will amaze you how fast you can go when you're tired. It just gives you a great chance to settle in and ride your own ride. Gavin and I did 30-minute shifts last year, and the rider swaps are almost as entertaining as the racing.1 point

Honestly, after seeing a nicely accessorized FZ-09 in the flesh, that'd be my choice. That, or, I'd spend the 10 grand to take a month off work and travel the country.1 point

For the OP's story. Boom, badguy gets just deserts. Nothing better than hearing a CCW holder vindicated for reducing the number of violent asshats on the planet. For Mattm, not totally sure how to reply to your post. You claim to not be anti-gun but the rest of it sounds as if you are or at the very least misinformed about the issue. You compare gun ownership to owning dogs. When was the last time a handgun jumped a fence and mauled a child. Never. Having a gun in the house does not automatically make that household less safe. I have two firearms in my house that have been fully loaded with ammo in the chamber. They have sat in this condition for emergency use for almost 7 years now and there has never been an elevated risk to anybody that has ever been welcome in my home. The problem with the logic I seen in your post is that you are blaming the shortcomings of "people" with the damages that a gun creates in the hands of said "people". In this reality (as far as i know) when an inanimate object like a firearm is used, it always takes a person to commit a crime against another person. Why is the firearm now given a face and called a criminal as if it had a choice or a say in the actions of the person holding it. A child, tween, teen, adult, psycho, depressed, enraged, moron with no respect for another humans life will find a way to harm another person with no regards to the tools they are provided. It could be a knife, a rope, a baseball bat, skateboard or a firearm and it would not stop them. A child, tween, teen, adult, psycho, depressed, enraged, moron with no understanding of the consequences of their actions may harm another person with no regards to the tool they use due to the fact that they have never been taught better. If all of you concerned citizens really want to prevent crime and reduce the violence in society, how about you turn to your children and teach them not to be criminals. Take your head out of your ass and teach this generation what not to do. Stop looking towards the government to pass the end all law that will force criminals to obey the system and do something proactive like raise less children to be criminals. I bet since they are old enough to stand you teach your kids that knives are dangerous, why have you ignored guns. If you teach them about dangerous things in their lives like sharp objects, poison, tripping hazards, deadly animals, why would you leave something out as important as firearms. The current crop that has reached their teen years is probably already lost. Turn to the young ones that you have a chance of fixing, and teach them not to be purse snatching, carjacking, child shooting prison fodder and maybe the issue of gun control will be turned into an issue of criminal control.1 point

I may be a Devils' fan, but I am genuinely thrilled for the fun the Blue Jackets and the CBus fans are having. And this series with Pittsburgh has been incredibly entertaining. Hoping the Jackets make it to the Cup Finals and win it! And anytime you can end the season of a team from Pittsburgh, I am all for it!1 point

Why DON'T you believe? And why does it bother you so much that I do? I don't push or force my beliefs on anyone. I don't walk around saying "God bless" and pushing a bible in anyones face. I TRY to live my life and raise my family in what I FEEL is the right way for us, and betterment of the people and community around us. I don't look down on non-believers, nor view them as any worse or better than myself I do whats right for me. And FWIW, I don't care if he's Muslim, Christian, Jewish, agnostic, or whatever. I don't have any issues with his religion (or lack thereof). I strongly disagree with what he's doing to this country, and I stand in utter disbelief of those who follow him blindly. If the media would do their job, he'd be outed for whomever he really is, but at this point they are in fear of him. I don't believe that he is the person who he portrayed himself to be. I feel that the whole thing is an ingenious fabrication from the highest level to specifically get him into office. No school history ("He graduated when? I was in that class, and never saw nor heard of the guy"), a horrible record in congress, etc. Every program or idea that he's implemented has failed, but nobody seems to keep track. His wife wants to change the way I am allowed to eat, even though she seems to have put on a few pounds over the last few years. He's a foreign policy nightmare, and the fact that John Kerry is Sec of State is laughable. I've got my doubts. Deeeeep ones. But not about my religious beliefs. Slam all you want. You're not gonna change that. Just because you're "right" in your own head doesn't mean that you know whats right for me. I'm just not sure why some are so threatened by the fact that I believe that this wasn't all an accident.1 point

My request would be to keep the name neutral like last year just to signify an awesome riding experience in ohio. Thus we were able to invite people from other forums as well like ride ohio, red line etc. and no one felt like outsiders, even used a neutral style bike so that it doesnt look like restricted to sports bike, HD, adventure etc something put together last year1 point
