Reservations are set. Leaving late Thursday evening or really early Friday morning, heading back home Monday sometime. I will have my scooter since a spot in the trailer for it opened up when Inya decided to stay at home for some nonsense that sounds like an excuse. Hope to see you all in North Carolina.3 points

Makes no sense to me how someone thinks himself intelligent enough to not believe in God can then throw out all that reasoning and logic only to fall into the pitfall of manmade global warming. The same type of people that are peddlers of religion are peddling man made global warming but seem to have found a way around some peoples defenses for logic. It's sad and I feel sorry for both groups for the same reason.3 points

Bittersweet that my Son graduates from High School on the 24th and then ships out to Ft Benning "Infantry" June 17th......but I am a very proud Papa none the less. He made this decision roughly 2 years ago much to our surprise, especially after he seemed all set to attend Kent State. Anyways.........we will be empty nesters soon, and I hope to spend some quality time with the Wifey.2 points

So here is where I agree with you...I am all for clean water and air and dealing with hazardous material in a responsible way. But a big component of man made Global Warming is fear mongering that is used to channel dollars and sway votes.1 point

Don't know much about bandits because I don't see them often... Are these comparable in power to something like an fz1 or closer to bigger bikes like the xx? Seems like a lot of work to put into a bandit, but if your hp/tq estimates are fairly close, that's a lot more power than I would have expected out of one of these1 point

Pentagon and DOD are also believers in climate change. Yes scientists make mistakes and correct them over time. Religion does not.1 point

Of course, we could have gone a parallel direction to talk about the belief that immunizations cause autism and sexual promiscuity - the majority of those believers are also strongly religious.1 point

I wholeheartedly disagree that 'They Live' is a B movie. That fight scene is a fucking classic.1 point

Yep, with a screwdriver hammer. It was the starwheels on the front drums. They were frozen and the hubs had a lot of mud in them. Cleaned out the hub seals and lubed them, roughened up the shoes and inside of the drum with sandpaper, cleaned out the gunk. I have a good lever now.1 point

Tomato/Tomato Either way..and I did some research on his current worth, he is almost to a billion now....he made his fortune based on the theories he was pushing and the legislation he still had substantial influence over. But it's ok, Obama told us this would stop when he became president. The whole lobbying getting rich after leaving office revolving door thing. Glad that is all cleared up. My post are seeped in sarcasm. Keep that in mind. I hate everyone, so I ridicule them. I am spot on with this one, Al don't give a shit about you, me or the planets fever. He only cares about making money and convincing the left that the right is evil and everyone will die if they don't vote for Dem's. See, if the Dems' win he gets more legislation to make him more money. Oh, and now he is worth more than Mitt Romney. So he is an evil bastard right?1 point

I prefer she has her place, and I have my place. That gives you enough space to miss each other. She can come over, spend the night, or a weekend. But, she has a place to go back to, which is good for when you need to decompress from too much togetherness. It's really like playing a game of cards, anyway. In the beginning, you have a heart and a diamond. In the end, you wish you had a club and a spade.1 point

As far as evil corporations. Oil and coal = old greed Wind Turbines, Solar, Green energy = new greed (ask all the greedy Washington insiders who invest in them)1 point

and I happen to agree with them... Ride like you're invisible... avoid colliding with cars. No sense being dead just for the sake of being right. Last stats I saw showed that 2/3 of motorcycle accidents were the MC operator's fault...-1 points

Wind generators are great, solar is great, tidal generators are great. They generate electricity without burning fossil fuels, or generating radioactive waste, why wouldn't we want to develop this technology? Well if you are making billions off of oil and gas... That's probably a pretty strong motivation.-1 points

I'm not crying, just pointing out who has money on stifling progress.-1 points

Hey, just because 97% of the scientific community says that the science shows climate change is being influenced by humans doesn't mean that 25% of the general population had to believe them, they've got their own data... Right?-1 points
-
So 97% of the scientific community studying this issue is getting rich off of their results?-1 points

To protect the environment? Don't you think they would get a lot more money from big oil companies if the research showed that burning fossil fuels actually helped the environment?-1 points

Then what is their agenda? That's the only agenda I can see stated on their website...-1 points

Completely different information sources my friend... God: supported by 1 text who's infallibility is contained within it's own text. it's infallible because it says it's infallible. Also written by bronze age goat herders. Climate change: Idea that human factors contribute to it is supported by 97% of the scientific community studying the phenomenon, thousands of peer reviewed publications, and mountains of data collected... Scientists studying climate change are as sure about it as they are about gravitation, evolution, and electromagnetism... I tend to trust the pronouncements of the scientific community. If there are holes in the data or the experimentation, the peer review process finds those holes, and exposes them.-1 points
-
again apples and oranges, I could care less what the general population believes, but i do care what the peer reviewed data overwhelmingly supports.-1 points
-
in 1970 they were missing the climate data we now have for the past 40 years... At that time, the big environmental hazard was the widespread use of CFCs. We banned the use of CFCs and saved our ozone layer. Had we lost the ozone layer, (barring all of the co2 we've dumped into the atmosphere) we would have been looking at another ice age. Just because science is fluid doesn't mean it's wrong. in fact, the very reason it's fluid is the reason I find it so reliable. Constantly adapting to new data.-1 points
-
so where are your peer reviewed studies to back up those assertions?-1 points

Clearly you've never studied physics... Please do some reading and look into the carnot engine.. it's an IDEAL purely theoretical version of the modern internal combustion engine. It should easily put to rest your conspiracy theory regarding these "insane mpg" cars that were "hushed" The X files was a "fictional" tv show. it's a really simple conservation of energy problem... the energy of combusting fossil fuels is your maximum, and even in a perfect theoretical world you can't get all of that energy out to propel a vehicle. not even close... that's why electricity is the way to go, because you can routinely get 90% efficiency, with internal combustion we will be lucky if we ever achieve half that.-1 points
-
if you refuse to do the math regarding the carnot engine, and maximum efficiency... Which puts this theory to bed immediately, then consider modern engine tuners Yes gasoline burns most efficiently when mixed with air at the proper stoichiometry, this is why we have carburetors, and fuel injectors... these devices vaporize fuel, and mix them with air at the proper stoichiometry to be burned in an engine... This magical carburetor would have "in theory" run the engine extroardinarily lean, this does produce more energy, and by all means you can tune your current car to run very lean indeed, the problem with running lean is overheating, ask any engine tuner. Lean is mean, but lean is HOT. There is a science to this-1 points
