  1. Yea, I was thinking the same thing

  2. I'm the same way. To each his own, but I'd rather take an extra few seconds to wake up and be really sure that noise is an intruder than to shoot the wrong person, even if that makes me a little more vulnerable to an out-of-the-blue threat. I guess that might make me "sheeple" to the hard-core, but that's my ethical dial to turn, not theirs.

  3. The reason for the cancellation which was my decision was based on a couple of factors. One, Life Flight lifted with about 30 minutes to go. So, by the time we'd do any calls, the Novice Group would have been the only group to ride that last hour. Second, with what happened in that group, I just felt it wasn't the best thing to do and that shutting it down made best sense. Yes, everyone got a shortened event by one session, but at the end of the day I made a call that I felt made sense. The instructors all agreed from whom I asked and since it involved the Novice group, we felt it was the best choice.

  4. Going to have to do more than piss us off. People piss me off daily, I don't shoot them. As long as you're not an immediate threat to my life or my family's you're ok.

  6. ...they are true! Hoblick you're a good dude. Thanks for swapping my tires for me. Fast and done right is always worth the trip. In addition to the tire service, he let my dog take a piss in his yard lol. I'm sure he greatly appreciated that for the ride home. Again, thanks Ryan!

  7. Hmmm, Don't know on this one. I am assuming he was tailgating you. Noticed truck in your mirror. So you almost came to a stop on ramp. So he encroached on you. You are both at fault here. Just the way I am seeing things. Why not use that getaway speed before all this happened? Plenty of time to pass car in front of you. Or move out and let him around.

  8. Yea honestly I would edit your earlier comment and remove anything containing info about his injury.. Seems silly but they don't mess around as others have said. No need to take offense to it, they're just trying to save your gf a bit of trouble, possibly a job. I know everyone talks in private in the health care field but openly discussing it where others are in earshot, not to mention on a forum is a huge no-no.

  9. Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I've been riding motocross most of my life and have been riding sport bikes for the last couples years. I'm riding a gsxr 750 or a gs1100. I'm from the Dayton area and do most of my riding from here to southern ohio and indiana.

  10. I get it man. I just thought maybe I'd put some minds at ease about it. I was worried about the dude, I think everyone felt for him. Everyone have fun be safe.

  11. yeah.. not to switch the subject a bit.. but seeing as I just got a JCAHO visit today.. I feel that you need to re-inform your GF that a slip up of that nature, if dude doesn't want his medical prognosis posted or known is a minimum of 10k fine per infraction and possible loss of licensure of the one involved permanently (I've seen it happen for just saying some one was there for a surgery...) obviously its public knowledge that he was injured and went to a hospital via medflight, but the rest is confidential info..

  14. I know I'll get flamed for commenting on something I am not a part of. But, two things... One, qualifying should NEVER be a part of crediting points. Some qualify well while others race well. Qualifying should be used to seperate riders. If needing to split grids up, use qualifying as a way to do that and run two races. Double points is great and allows the event to accomodate larger entry amounts and accomodate different ability levels. Second, flat track form in supermoto on these small bikes is fine. I don't think it is the fastest way around, but we used to have road racer style in bug supermoto and it was fine. Bottom line is the rider. Doesn't matter the style. If you are locked in on the rider and distracted by his foot, you need to focus on your racing and looking ahead. If he is riding like an idiot from what has been said, doesn't matter if he rides like a supermoto rider, a road racer, an MX rider or a damn Circus Clown. If he rides well, it isn't an issue the way he rides. If he rides like shit and is being too aggressive, don't blame it on the style - blame it on the rider. As for the deal with corner workers, they are volunteers usually. And for the most part, they see cars and big bikes on the big track. Corner workers are like the EMT staff at the track. They put up with the heat, sun, rain, cold, assholes, etc. If they need some education, fine. But don't slam them - educate them. Easy. The club sounds like it needs some direction. I know that when I have spoken up, the response was to bring things up end of year. That's insane. Organizations will make rule changes and adjust policy at any point within a season if it makes sense and helps out as a whole. To have to wait until end of the year, you easily could burn bridges with potential new sign-ups after one race. Taking what I am reading here, if there aren't things changed immediately, they will remember the last event and potentially pass on doing any more. Just like racing, you are only as good as your last performance. That's all I got.

  16. Fuck all that. I paid good money to dump it down in my RV and I'm gonna do any time I need to. I ain't gonna try to pinch a Hershey explosion while trying to walk to the track facilities. It's just shit to drain out and anyone that's ever had kids should be able to handle draining a black tank.

  18. That's not a hippa violation or anything... All.in all glad to hear the rider is well. He was pitted across from us. Was a good looking rc51. Medflight will ruin the mood on anyday..

  19. I guess I am just lower maintenance than I thought. Put me in an enclosed trailer with AC and an air mattress, and anything else is just a bonus.

  20. We talked about one of those actually for the pits cuz there is only 1 crapper down there and it's always tore up. Then they brought in porta's and they keep them clean and nice. We do dump in a bag and tie it, that's one way we refrain from using the bathroom. Then we yell hott karl and run out tossing it into the trash trailer. One of the best parts of the day right there.

  21. No timer in the car, that is a HUGE no-no and will get you banned for life from any track (Norwalk Dirty Dozen). You have to go off your instinct at the top end and based on what the person you are running is doing. I have done this before when I knew I had someone covered and made them break out. Its like playing chicken without hitting someone head on.

  24. I heart this thread already. I won't crap in a bucket either, plastic bag in my AC'd toy hauler sitting in the toilet/bathroom sure. That's fine, but not a bucket outside in the heat, F that. I also no longer tent camp, ever. May consider it in the backyard at the new house if my kid insist on it, but chances are he'll be raised in the TH camping a lot in the UP and Smokey's so hopefully he hates tenting it like I do. As for this one, we've never gone #2 in it just like the last 2 I've owned, never will. Heck we could even get pumped at the races on site if we wanted so that it never filled up more than 24 hrs but forget that. We still flush it with a mix of ice, water, and cleaner after every trip for several hours of driving and it never smells, plus keeps the sensors clean. Like I said, everything works, Bowdog, Maxpower, and Midgettodd have apparently all seen or slept in the last TT I sold Bowdog so I think they can all vouch for my stuff. This will also be detailed before selling as I do it twice a year, once before the season and once at the end. Well unless someone buys it before the end LOL.

  29. Hoblick for sure is the exception. The buyers experience is HUGE for Harley, and Indian may very well be in that league soon as well. If I were to throw big money at a bike like that, I would probably give Indian or Victory a shot over Harley. I will never rule a bike like that out one of these days, but I am just not into owning bikes at this point of my life that are so myopic in what they do or can easily do. I HATE LOUD V-twin straight pipes, and I think that is a big part of what the bug up my ass is about concerning many of these bikes. Now some of the dual systems like on a Road King and the other baggers, sound very deep and mellow which I really like allot. Most of the cruisers and baggers are just too damn big and heavy, less is simply more for me at this point in my riding life.

  30. alright dick bags calm down. heres the deal. let me first start off buy stating i have ridden and owned ALOT of bikes. I have tried pretty much every genre of motorcycle riding as well. i have owned sport bikes, cruisers, supermotos, minis, sport touring, ADV bikes, dirt bikes, etc etc. i haver done track days, and i have done long tours. i have owned harley, ducati, honda, yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki, ducati.. every brand has something going for them. every brand has assholes and posers how ride them. i may be a rare exception, but i have no brand loyalty, nor do i favor one style of riding over the other. i love hitting the track and dragging a knee or a great twisty backroad with a little excessive speed. I also enjoy just cruising and taking in the scenery and experiences travel on a motorcycle. it really just depends on the environment I'm in to which I'm preferring. I cherish the motorcycle trips i take with my father, grandfather, wife, and other family. they all ride harleys, and when I'm on those trips id honestly rather be on a harley. I do prefer a Harley as a cruiser. They are the cruiser to own in my opinion. Yeah they don't have the best suspension, or brakes, or even make the most power. what they do have going for them is amazing styling, an awesome exhaust sound, and a presense. call me what you will but i felt like a bad ass when i rode my Street Glide, and as much as you guys don't want to admit it, you would to. I got so many compliments on the bike from HD riders and non HD riders. it was an awesome bike, and ill own another harley at some point. another great thing about Harleys, is the buying experience and overall dealership service. i have told several people this.... if you want the best buying experience you'll ever have, buy from a HD or Ducati dealership. every other place I've bought or tried to buy from, it just felt like they were used car salesmen. soon as you walk in the door, its like they could smell their pray. always trying to work the deal, just feels cheap. this goes for both harley and ducati.. when i walked in i was greeted with a smile, and was asked what brought me in. from that conversation led into about me, asking me what i ride, what i have owned before, (harley dealership) , if i did track days (ducati dealership) what kind of trips I've been on, where i rode to, etc. then we chatted about his bikes and formed a real friendship. they showed me the bike i was interested in, went over everything, they knew what they were selling, they knew their brand incredibly well, and offered a lot of insight. they showed me gear, and accessories and so on and so forth. they made the buying experience about me, and my passion for motorcycles. not about their commission. i wish every dealership would run themselves like a harley or ducati dealership. back on to ranting.. every group, and brand have stereotype riders and you'll have that. i don't really give a fuck what anyone thinks of what i ride, obviously as i ride a 650 vstrom at the moment. Harley isn't stubborn with advancements. they are smart. people who want a harley want it for the way it makes them feel. harley is a genius with marketing, and a they have created an image that no other brand can compete with in their segment. Ducati is good at the same thing albeit a different segment, they got it nailed. the japanese companies don't have that "hook" yet. all most all my purchases have been from me "lusting" after something. i want a experience, and feeling from the bike I'm riding. something about the bike has to have character and a soul.

  35. Any of you guys plan on riding tomorrow(Saturday)? Or Sunday if it doesn't rain. I live near Kings Island but Dayton is a pretty short ride. NinjaNIck, full discretion, this is my first season. I've got almost 1000 miles under my belt though and no incidents to report yet. I've ridden in groups before but never more than 3 people.

  42. Just to let you know, it is not a hippa violation. Anyone within ear shot of anyone at a hospital can hear everything anyone is saying, you might want to spend the day in the ER and then tell me everything you overherd, you would be surprised. Just be happy the guy is ok, because one day you might be happy to know that someone is looking out for you!!! The guy is going to tell you all about it eventually weather you here it here or on the track!!!!!!! Wishing you the best and hoping you don't end up worse!!!!!
