  3. What I described was exactly what happened. If you look back to mid-summer you will see a thread where Ben is stranded at a gas station with a dead battery. He took it home, charged it for two months, pushed it on the trailer, drove it to the Fall Dragon Trip...unloaded it and got stranded a couple blocks down the street at another gas station. He had to drive to Cherokee and back to get a battery.

  6. I am not debating if it is wrong for Cruz to block this. It is wrong. Your reasons dont even come into play. Blocking any judge by any party nominated by any President except in extreme circumstances.....like the nominee is a murderer....is wrong. When we elect a President that is part of the duties we elect him to do. I am also saying that if you make excuses why its ok for your party to do it or fail to condemn them for doing it while condeming the other party.....then you are a hypocritical asshat. Unfortunately, your failure to condemn Schumer leads me to belive that is a hat you are wearing.

  7. They're not replacing a "republican" justice - Justices are not officially affiliated with either party. They don't run for election, therefore there is no party to support them. It's fairly obvious that Scalia had Republican leanings, but that's his decision. This whole debate is stupid though. The President has an obligation to nominate a successor, and the Senate has an obligation to confirm any qualified candidate, regardless of what they think about his or her political leanings. Likewise, Justices have a sworn duty to uphold the Constitution, and not let their personal beliefs cloud or sway their judgment. That is what was always so infuriatingly brilliant about Justice Scalia. I could agree with his opinion, but completely disagree with his rationalization. At the same time, he was an excellent writer, and had the ability to make his own rationalization sound less absurd than many who supported his beliefs.

  10. RAIN TOMORROW HAS POSTPONED THE EVENT UNTIL SUNDAY, MAY 22, 2016 Date: SATURDAY - May 21, 2016 All details are subject to change - so please follow up to this thread before the event to verify all details are the same! There will only be ONE Epic Ride event this year! The route and meet place will be the same as last year since it rained both times and the attendance was way down, I want the event to get to have a chance to ride this route with a decent showing. I feel next year (2017) we will return to Hocking Hills. Meet Place: Church of Christ, New Concord OH Maple Ln, New Concord OH Church of Christ parking lot, New Concord OH Time: Meet by 10:30 Start organizing group by 11:00 and kick stand to ride by 11:30 Route: https://goo.gl/maps/so6Hh Request: Be ATGATT if possible, and try and sport an OR t shirt if you have one. T-Shirts https://teespring.com/unofficial-epic-ride2016 Facebook Event has been created for this event if you want to utilize that also. http://www.facebook.com/events/990247394386889/ After the ride is complete, weather permitting, we will be grilling hotdogs & hamburgers, providing chips, drinks, etc for everyone to enjoy together afterwards before people start heading back. Special thanks to ricer1 for the donation to allow this to happen. Please make sure you thank him if you see him. Some etiquette to help us all better as suggested by many riders: Everyone is responsible for themselves, so ride within your limits. Crashing is not something we want to have happen. Ride within your limits and stay safe. Our goal is to have a fun safe day of riding with a bunch who share the same passion. Crashing only ruins that fun, not only for you, but for others as well. Food will be provided at the end of the ride. Ideal maximum group size is ten riders with a lead rider and a tail (sweep) rider. These two riders should be interchangeable in skill level so that the sweep rider can evaluate and help the riders in front of them: These two riders need to know the count of how many riders are in their group. The lead rider needs to wait at all stops for the sweep rider to give him a thumbs up. At each stop the leader or sweep rider can switch or at their discretion ask and allow a new formation of the line. Do not allow passing other riders in same group once the ride has started except at starts. Passing slow moving vehicles may be needed for the faster group; when doing this each rider makes times and judges it for themselves. Don't wait for the group to pass as a whole. At times, riders might have to cross a double yellow to pass. Group leaders and sweeps should know the route well and if possible have ridden it prior to event. Do not allow changes of groups at stops (Unless both ride leaders of both groups are aware of the change and it does not raise the group count to over ten riders. If a rider has to leave a group early, please make sure they tell someone in the group. Do not pass other riders within a group, except at stops or if the rider in front waves you passed. Try and avoid 'pushing' a rider in front of you (this means to give the people in front of you space so they don't feel pressured to go faster than they are comfortable). If you picked the wrong spot in line of your group ask to change positions at stops or if a rider signals you to pass. Start the ride with a full tank of gas. Many folks are planning to grab a bite at the end of the ride, those with time should do it as it will be fun. The unfortunate long haulers will start back to get home before dark. Video from Previous Years: The Groups Always start one group below what you feel you ride. Meaning if you think your fast, start with medium fast group and if you are comfortable move to the fast group during gas break after letting the lead and sweep know. Better to be safe than sorry. Remember we might be riding roads very new to you. Fast: Usually 70mph on the straight and 25-30 mph over the posted limit of curve. The people who belong to the group know they belong to this group, they dont think they belong here.Dont jump in here unless you been riding with such fellows for some time. eg: UP, Midgettodd, Hutch, Core rides Medium-Fast: 65-70mph on the straight and 20-25 over the posted limit of curve. This is the usual fast rides some group rides do, still rather fast• Jump in here if you been riding for a while and is comfortable at these paces on most roads Medium: 65 mph on the straight and 15-20 over the posted limit of curve. This is the everyday regular group rides pace,Jump in here if you been riding for a while and is comfortable at these paces on most roads Slow: 60 mph or around posted limit on the straight and up to 10 over the posted limit of curve. This is the a very comfortable yet fun group ride. Jump in here if you like doing friendly fun rides and also new riders must join here. If you could please announce if you plan to attend and which group so I can keep an ongoing list. If you plan on bringing someone else from outside of the forums, or those who don't post, please add a +1 for each member, so we can kind of figure out how many groups we will need to plan for. Also post if you are willing to sweep or lead so we can get a list for that as well. 13. Apparently there was a leak or a hole in the catalytic converter. Covered under the emissions warranty. Got the truck back today. Managed to make it all the way home with no trouble codes! Hooray! The Chrsyler rep offered me oil changes and tire rotations for 3 years on their dime. I asked about the re-imbursement for car payments for time in the shop. She told me I could have one or the other. They gave me until end of business day Friday to report any issues or concerns. So gonna drive the puss out of it for 2 days. HopefullyI don't have to make another trek back to the dealership.

  15. Think I'm just to the point where I don't care if it rains on me anymore. I have good gear now, im on the bike and I'm not at home so I'm still happy. You probably figured that out in the fall when we rode all day in the rain and I could still laugh about it.

  24. On paper I agree with you. In practice I cannot agree. If justices strictly made decisions based on factual interpretation of the law, and excluded personal bias and political leanings...you would never see a 5-4 and probably not even a 6-3.

  25. I highly doubt they do. If there's a backdoor, hackers would've already discovered and exploited it. While many cry foul that Apple is refusing to do this, the same would bitch if they did have a back door already built in. I don't think they should build one. I was thinking...if the terrorist guy had a newer iPhone with the fingerprint detection and they have his body... They at least have his prints and it has already been shown that the fingerprint sensor can be defeated by using fingerprints in a creative way.

  35. You are doing it wrong. You need to charge it for a couple of months, never ride it. Load it on the trailer by hand and drive it down to the dragon. Then the next morning drive an hour each way to get a new battery.

  37. Hey guys. I've went to get professional help, they believe I'm suffering from a form of PTSD... We're working through things trying to eliminate the nightmeres every night. Physically I am doing a lot better. Someone anonymously paid for a YMCA membership for a month for me to try doing some PT on my own since my insurance won't pay for more.

  38. It's that kind of crap why I got out of the business. You do all the work, use breakout boxes, test the wires, document it with photos, and time stamps and well written descriptions, and the warranty admin is to much of a fat fucking pussy to submit as much time as you are claiming and the service manager is to busy sucking the dealership owners cock to give a rats ass about you or sticking up for you when some angry German fuck from up top comes in and starts screaming at you for replacing a steering shaft that didn't fix a steering noise, when the fucks at tech support wouldn't authorize the steering rack that the service buliten pointed to the cause of the noise which did fix the problem but then the service manager docs your pay 140 dollars to cover the part and labor all while you're 20 years old struggling to make ends meet after you just moved 6 hours away from home while trying to buy tools and pay rent and still have a life....then a customer starts screaming at you because you tell the service advisor a vehicle needs a wheel bearing to fix an abs issue because the tone ring has a dead spot in it, but it's an older vehicle with some corrosion and you also tell the service advisor the actual wheel speed sensor is probably going to get fucked upon disassembly to get the the wheel bearing but the service advisor choose to not tell the customer, and the proceeds to scratch out my writing on the WO that says, abs sensor may be damaged upon removal along with the price quote for it, and then the service manager questions you about it and blames you, then makes you pay for the part with another paycheck deduction, all while some fat fuck spills his soda, all down his dash ruins the NAV drive on the first car sold with the new NAV system, you replace it under warranty and can't figure out how to load the NAV maps back on and Tech support tells you to click such and such buttons through diagnostics and it doesn't fix but customer HAS to leave, turns out the manufacture hadn't shipped the downloadable DVDs yet, because they switched from q live read on a DVD to the maps being on the hard drive, then when the discs finally come in, or well suppose to come in the shop Forman hides them in his tool box and takes a few days off. Meanwhile a large sedan with a rain sensor cover falling off comes in and has a big ole crack in the windshield, well it's cold, we have radiant heat, I note the crack on the WO and tell the service advisor that the windshield needs replaced and the car back outside before I can put it on the lift or the windshield will be cracked 5 miles across, he starts yelling at me in front of the service manager to just do the work, I tell the service manager and he says just do the other work and they'll let me know if the customer wants a new windshield, well sure enough the combination of putting it on the lift and radiant heat crack that windshield all the way across, customer comes in flips out, says: IT WASNT CRACKED THAT MUCH THIS MORNING.... Service manager deducts shops insurance deductible out of my pay. this was just one of the places I worked at. Independant shop #1 - owner: " hey just say easy stuff needs replaced on such and such contracted vehicles, they never check. independent chain shop #2 -" we're going to pay you $7.00 to be an apprentice, we're not gong to pay you any commission though, and you have to walk all the way through the employee entrance of a huge Sears department store to go smoke or take your lunch break. Also you must take a 15 minute break every 2 hours. independent chain shop #3 - just put these cheap Chinese tires on this car, even though they are not authorized from corporate and the general manager was buying and selling cars through the business, using the actual consumer store credit card to float 0% interest for the year, buying parts at cost and not paying for any labor, and when one of us fixed his stupid little project cars he'd fudge the numbers and pay us hourly... He was a managing partner and stripped of all his stock in the company and forbidden to ever rebuy stock until he no longer was employed, so imagine that shady shit. finally the first dealer I ever worked at washing cars, it was snowing like a mother fuck and I refused to take a Porsche something with the widest fucking tires I've ever seen out of the wash bay, service manager starts screaming at me just to do it, and sure enough after I get out of the garage at about 3mph, car won't turn, brakes lock up and of course abs is of no help and I run right into a parked pickup truck with a plow on the front. I got fired immediately. I do not wish the vehicle service industry upon my worst enemy.

  39. How is it not a conflict of interest when Obama has his own Unconstitutional laws being decided in the supreme court he's going to appoint a nominee to? My suggestion is Ginsburg retires and they can pass one D and one R So Obama avoids this years R president elect appointting an R to replace her when she goes after also blocking his Scalia replacement
