Haven't been active in a while but thought I'd post about the girl in the garage. I wasn't enjoying my GSXR anymore... Too uncomfortable. So, I sold it and got a 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 from ASK. Great working with them, btw... Anyways. For the limited amount of miles I've put on the bike, it's a lot better than what I had before. Great low end power, quick turn in, and sooo comfy. Stunting on public roads is a douchebag move and cops will ream you for it. Private property is better, and certain places around akron they don't hassle you, one being the old children's palace down the hill from the old rolling acres mall.3 points

Stunting in traffic is unwise as it takes longer to react to emergency situations when you only have 1 wheel on the ground. Wheelies are fun & can be habit forming though. Pick when & where carefully as they are a 4 point offense.1 point

From my younger days of riding and living in columbus, even if they bring out the porkchopper, doesn't mean they will catch a single person. That spotlight is bright as shit though.1 point

Never been impressed with stunting. Takes a lot of talent and abilities, no doubt about it. Just not my thing I guess.1 point

I'm no lawyer, but don't see how cops could hassle you for stunting on private property if all of the following are true: It's your property or you have explicit permission to be there doing what you are doing Your stunting isn't a threat to neighboring property or persons (i.e. lost wheelie causes bike to hit neighbor's house) The stunting is not an overt nuisance to neighboring property owners (i.e. noise) If you are on private property I can see how they may stop and question you but if you are not violating any of the above I don't see how they can say anything but "be careful and carry on". If you don't have permission to be on the property, there are numerous reasons for ejecting you including but not limited to liability issues for the property owner(s).1 point

Now I realize this won't happen all the time but wow...I never expected him to answer until Monday. Thank you Mike. Oh and our stuff is on its way!1 point

Size 35 in a 31 bag? Maybe someone returned their old ones after buying the 31s and got the $$ back.1 point

Considering that one of civil engineering's desired goals is to reduce stormwater run off, this appears to be pretty effective.1 point

As someone who's owned a YJ, a TJ, and a JK, plus worked at a stand alone Jeep dealership from 1998 to 2002, here's my thoughts: YJ: 1990 Wrangler Sahara, 4.2 258, 5 speed. Highly modified suspension and drivetrain. Tons of fun! Stock form: Modified: TJ: 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport, 4.0 5 speed, also highly modified suspension and drivetrain. More fun and more capable than the YJ. JK: 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 3.6 Pentastar, 6 speed standard, completely stock. MUCH more comfortable than the YJ or TJ, not as capable off road with stock suspension. With a small lift and larger tires, would have been MUCH more capable than either previous Jeep. My vote, try to find a standard transmission TJ six cylinder, plan to do some frame repair, and build a fun vehicle dependent on your needs. If summertime cruising with fire roads being your toughest offroading, you don't need lockers and all that jazz. Of course, if you want to be truly badass, build a one ton drivetrain, sprung over, 4BT, Scrambler. Stick a Blue Heeler in the back that will eat the face off anyone who comes near it, and roll coal on all the Priuses and Teslas. YOLO. Your choice. If you've got any questions, PM me. I'm pretty well schooled on 1987 to present day Jeeps, and there is a lot of wrong information in this thread.1 point
