There is a bridge under construction on 16 just south of Tazewell. They have a traffic light set up at it for the one lane side. Don't sit at it for 5 min like I did, the bike would not trigger the sensor. After 5 min I ended up just running the bitch. Couple dirty corners in the good parts just after the construction. I had one good butt pucker moment then slowed my roll for a while which saved me from the second one. Gas station on the right once your a mile or more passed the green "back of the dragon" sign has tshirts and stickers. Looks like they have sprayed the areas were the Kudzu is growing and it's dying off, dosnt look as cool as ot used to. But I indestand why the did.2 points

Foothills might not be bad either as a cobweb-blower-offer. I know I may regret posting this but since I'm a trailer queen this year that means I'll have a vehicle if anyone needs a run to the store for cookout provisions or whatever else... let me know.2 points

Been back to the hotel for a while. 320 miles today the second half was much better than the first half. Highlight of the day was a 8 mile round trip up a gravel, rut filled, wash boarded, bolder fill journey up a forest service road to the top of Whitetop Mountian. But the view was worth every butt clinching moment. Also took a video of me coming back down I'll try to up load it tonight.1 point

If you want to leave earlier than that, you're more than welcome to join @cmh_sprint and I. We are planning on leaving my house around 10a, giving us plenty of time for stops, goofing off, and a nice break at the meet up spot.1 point

Holy shit man! you have had the worst luck lately! Call 614-332-2993 after 5pm...A lady named Debbie will answer, tell her Adam Bowman gave you their number for concrete work and ask if Lee is available. They will take good care of you. Text or call me if needed. 614-679-44021 point

They do have a resort fee now unless your group negotiated it out for their group rate.1 point

Wife just got a brand new 2015 Acadia 2nd trim level up. 26k out the door. Had a few options including rare captions chairs in the second row for not being an upper trim level. Really nice for the 2 seats and plenty of room in the 3rd row for other people.1 point

Yea, pretty much no signal there. So you use Google maps and pre download the area or buy a nav program that puts the maps on your phone. I have the whole US and Canada on mine. I use Sygic. If you are a tech TARD might just want to get a TomTom.1 point

I’ve never understood why women love cats Cats are independent, they don’t listen, they don’t come when you call them, they like to stay out all night, and when they’re home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in men, they love in cats.1 point

I hit a deer in April 2008 and had all the gear, FF helmet, armored jacket, gloves, boots. Pitch dark at 9:00PM on a two lane road with poor lighting. Hit the deer then a mailbox, the front wheel stopped in a drain ditch and I landed about 15 feet from the bike in the drain ditch. Bike was totaled (see photos), I had broken collar bone, broken shoulder blade, a few stiches from a jacket grommet cutting into my arm and a bunch of bruises. ATGATT for me, if I didn't have the gear, can't believe I would have escaped with minimal medical problems. According to Wisconsin DOT 2% of car-deer accidents end up in human fatalities versus 84.9% of motorcycles-deer encounters end up in fatalities. BTW, the nurses and doc's in the ER at Metro General cheered when they found I had wore all the gear, a week earlier a MC-deer fatality occurred with a rider without the gear. I beat the odds.1 point

I tried on all of their jeans at iron pony. I didn't feel comfortable in the sr6 and sr8. They were just too thick and bulky. They seem like they would give great protection, but I don't want to hate my riding experience. I ended up getting the SR4 pants and threw d30 hip and knee protection. Rode over 4 hours yesterday and I'm quite happy with them Sent from my Z958 using Tapatalk1 point

I'm suddenly interested now that this group is closed. It seems kinda exclusive With 8-10 riders you are already going to split apart in the twisty bits due to traffic and people choosing to ride different paces. Just make it official and have a group A/B with 2 group leaders. Everyone can reassemble for gas stops & meals and on the slab1 point

this is the trip I always wanted to do to get me to ride to and from the gap. I'm following this thread with so much jealousy in my heart1 point
