Heal up Craig! Pulling video off the cameras now, so you can stop throwing me under the bus on facebook lol That picture brings back bad memories....most of which were told to me a few weeks later.3 points

And here I thought coming up with a steal vs LeBron and playing a couple weekends with him on an AAU team was an awesome story. Then again when you've been around this Earth for 110 years, your bound to have more stories than us youngins3 points

I don't like the outcome of this vote. Tim is definitely not clique-y enough for me. I vote for a do over.3 points

I had friend's with "advice" like that too. But then I realized their idea of a ride is 30 mile round trip for ice cream. I put more miles on my bike in a weekend than they have all summer.2 points

Logan area isn't showing any rain until later afternoon ( post 3pm ) so I'd say we're good. I don't care if it rains on my way home. And once we're in the valleys and tree canopied backroads, the heat wont be nearly as bad2 points

Won't ride if its wet... Rather it be 90 than 45. Just saying.2 points

BTW, I got a Sena now. So be warned, if anyone tries to pair with me I will shoot them. I know a lot of you have Sena's so instead of carrying my usual 5 shot 38 I will be carrying my 16 shot FN 45. With an extra clip.2 points

I know that no one there cares but I'm still mad at myself for wasting people's track time.1 point

Jeez. I hope that 4 cylinder motorcycles don't become obsolete. If I need to get somewhere, or out of somewhere, in a hurry I prefer a 4. That being said that Datona is pretty sweet for a 600ish bike. Have fun with the new bike Nivin.1 point

Rain date of SUNDAY? The Browns are beginning their Super Bowl run on Sunday, how could anyone miss the Browns game?1 point

Woo, thanks for the reminder. Greg Norman helped me out of a sand trap on the south course at Firestone once. Forgot about that one.1 point

Yeah, I met him at the charity auction where we bid on (and won) the dinner and he was pretty cool. It'll be interesting to spend a few hours with him and his wife (who was super nice as well).1 point

If he decides to go the SV route, PM me. Also, I recommend the SV route, for a completely non-biased or unselfish reason.1 point

So my Street is more of a Unicorn than a 675R? Nice! Soon all motorcycles will be 3 cylinders! Yamaha is already getting with the program. Word around the campfire is that Ducati has a V-triple coming in 2018!1 point

Unfortunately no. Since the liberals are winning, Taco Trucks are popping up on every damn corner around here!1 point

Yeah, Mrs. Hawkins likes it better than the Duc we tried. Tim was kind enough to wait a bit for my slow ass to get up to the track for a spin. I liked it. Now going through a similar dilemma as you, do I deserve this bike? Haha1 point

I've still got a ton to learn. But I do really love the Daytona. I also love being able to drive out of a corner WOT knowing the powering is just gonna come on nice and predictable like. Sent from my iPhone.1 point

Yep, happy to meet some of the track crew on the boards here. You'll be seeing more of me next year.1 point

Of course I will always recommend the BRC and 250-300 class bikes for beginners. If he is going for more sport than cruiser my votes are the Ninja 650, SV650S, and the Yamaha FZ6. These will all be great commuters and capable for any twisties you throw at them. There are a lot of them out there and the insurance for these bikes won't break the wallet either. I wish him luck with his quest for two wheels, it's good he has an experienced rider to help keep him grounded, because we all know when you have the bug, it can make you do some crazy things, like buy too much bike or get stuck with a bike that ends up needing a shit ton of work!1 point

A quick story you're welcome to pass along about the liter bike as a first bike...I worked at a dealership for a short time years ago, had the task of prepping a brand new gsxr for a kid, 18-19 (I was only 23). Got to meet him, he had a ton of questions. He had talked his dad into getting him the 1000 as his first bike. I spent the time I could talking safety and the danger of that as a first bike...he left. Found out a few weeks later he was out trying to show off, wheelies, came all the way over fell off and killed himself. Like you said a 600 is a lot of power. The SV, EX650 ninjas, etc. Are a great choice for a first time rider.1 point

Just found and ordered a pair of these. They are no Sena bluetooth setup, but a step forward from what I currently have. Brilliant idea, hope they work well. https://www.plugfones.com/hearing-protection/motorcycle-earplugs/ "BUYNOW10" for 10% off1 point

I just like the idea that newer members to the forum have the ability to come to a ride and meet people. I know it can be hard for new members to approach the 'clique' and get engaged and I think food kind of helps with that barrier, which is why I like it.1 point

You work hard and you play hard, I always liked that about you. For someone who worked so hard and sacrified so much to get where you are, a little reward like this shouldn't even cause a blip in your conscience radar, but that's what you get for being a good decent human being who was raised right. Congrats on the toy. I highly recommend that you buy a pre-prepped track bike, but that all depends how much track activity you'll be seeing. they're much easier to fix when crashed (track plastics are relatively easy to repair and MUCH cheaper to replace, and the bodywork comes off much more quickly. If you're only doing 1 or 2 max a year, then it's probably not worth it. But if you're going full addict, then it's worth every penny. have fun!1 point
