I think this will be tough on his closer friends, so I thought I would write this up so they didn't have to go through the heart ache. It is with great sadness that I have to tell you guys that Ryan Hill (@rhill on here), and more affectionately known as RACEDAY to us who knew him on the track, has passed away. He had been having some issues with breathing in the past week or so, and last night was still well enough to drive himself to the hospital. They had found blood clots in his lung(s) and early this morning, he went into cardiac arrest and did not make it. I wasn't as close to him as some of the others, so I'll keep this short so they can pour their hearts out when they're ready. But I wanted you all to know that Ryan's friends and family, the track days/racing community, and moto community in general lost a great person and asset and friend today. godspeed to you Ryan. You lived well, you gave of yourself, and you were loved and will always be loved. Godspeed. Latest update from Ryan's family: Funeral for Ryan Friends will be recieved Monday and Tuesday. Monday evening 4pm to 8pm Additional viewing Tues 9am to 11am with service to immediately follow in the Leftdahl Chapel. Leftdahl Funeral Home 898 Old Route 119 North Indiana, PA 15701 Please share this information with anyone who does not have access to Facebook. EDIT: link to his obituary. Look at this handsome bastard https://www.indianagazette.com/news/obituaries/ryan-hill,25206256/9 points

Ryan was my work cubicle neighbor, and good friend. I was going to post something here to spread the word, but I see that it is already known. All of you who knew him were like family to him, he talked about you all the time. He definitely was a great guy, and will be missed. Race In Peace, brother.6 points

Ok I have composed myself long enough to try and get everything out. Ryan and I would always push each other on the track. We would usually pull off passes that most would consider dick moves but hey what are friends for. Messing with suspension and just general screwing around in the pits. I'm glad we were able to just sit and chat at mido last month, getting caught up on what all I missed in the last year. We were making big plans for next season as I was going to start riding again and we were going to hit quite a few days together. Today has been an emotional train wreck for myself and I'm sure many others and while I will never understand why this happened you will be deeply missed. "Raceday" Ryan Hill will be with all of us in spirit.5 points

I met Ryan somewhere along the way at nelson ledges and Motoseries. But only in the last year did we get a chance to ride with each much (MidO). I am truly saddened to loose a fellow rider, and a good one at that. Keep hitting the apexes in the clouds my friend ...2 points

I like the new route ideas. Agree with whoever it was who said cutting through Hocking two and from will be a nice addition for those of us traveling East to meet spot.1 point

I'm gutted... he was a great dude..I honestly haven't had many interactions with him, I would call him a good acquaintance... but I always felt like a friend... I've had the pleasure to hang with him a few times. Do trackdays a lot and even race against him... though I didn't get to know him well. He was always a top class guy. See him running around the padock looking for something to help some one while his bike still needed work... rest well ryan, dragging knees on the best tracks in the sky. you will be missed1 point

That's a major bummer, I'm sad to hear the news and for his friends and family's loss. Sent from the shitter using my phone.1 point

This is crushing. Our track family has become part of my extended family. Shannon and the kids love each of those that we have adopted through the course of racing, and Ryan was one of the first ones in. He was the genuine article, and is supremely missed.1 point

This is really sad... Thoughts are with his friends and family. I only got to meet him once but was really hoping to get to know him better on the track next year. He seemed the type to go out of his way to help anyone who needed it and was generally a pleasure to be around.1 point

Wow, don't know what to say. Ryan and I did our first track day at Nelson. He was a good rider. I got the chance to ride with him on the street and track. I would go see him race on Sunday's when I could. Very saddened by the news. Thanks for posting. My thoughts are with his friends and family right now.1 point

Hi Angie, I'm not far from you in Montgomery. Head down to KY via 275 and get off on the AA/Wilder exit, take 915 to 547 to 10 down to KY22 and back up 159 to 10 - very nice loop. Bubba knows those roads really well and probably has links to various routes.1 point

Well, to explain my antics... This was in the fall of 2002. I had just recently purchased a new 660 Grizzly. The thing would actually do whoolies. This is nothing nowadays, but back then you didn't see a big 4x4 CVT quad doing wheel stands. There was a pack of Honda Foremans 'mirin as as was approaching so I decided to show my ass a bit to them and stand that beast up for about 20 yards. It was a low speed affair. I had been there several times before and many after without any inclination of squidding in the parking lot. For some reason that day though...I guess I thought I'd be Mr cool. Ended up being Mr fool instead.1 point

Great seeing you guys again, Jason & Jen! Glad you made it down to sample some of our N Ky twisties. Bubba did pick some of the good ones on the east side of 75 (great route dude!), so now you can come back to enjoy the west side slew of curves, which are some of my favorites. Felt good getting back out there flogging ol' "Diceburg" again! Even though I'll be down in Tennessee next year in the new house, I'll still try to get back up here to ride the great roads of N Ky when I can. Always looking forward to new riding adventures, and good times with great riding friends!1 point

Glad you enjoyed the ride! NKY is always a fun roll and we were blessed with pretty low traffic volume for a weekend. It's a shame it's such a long slog for you guys on the super-slab to get to the twisty goodness. Definitely need to do it again.1 point

Price is way to high but...... 2 smoker heaven that looks pretty good. It could run down a 600 sport bike. Good luck following it down a set of twisties. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/5803541927.html https://images.craigslist.org/01212_b1BPNd5Nj9c_600x450.jpg1 point

676 is a wonderfull road, paved with in the last two years. Some corners are tricky though need full focus on it. for eg there is one corner u go straight into a house lol unless u literally twist your neck to look through the corner1 point
-
550 is also a route for State Troopers going from the Athens Station to the Marietta Station. Still a good road though. Sharpsburg hill is probably one of my favorite set of corners in SEO. 676 is definitely more technical and less forgiving for someone who does not know the road.1 point

works for me, can cut through hocking on the way to/way home from the ride. nicer than slabbing on 70 for an hour.1 point
-
What are you talking about Gramps? The last couple times we came across 78 it was clean in both directions. It is a fantastic road and newly paved, my vote is to keep it in the loop. I will say that I am not a fan of 26, the road is shitty and always dirty.1 point
