  1. Response from a Representative: Received your email and would like to meet with you to discuss this matter in greater detail. I realize that you are in class Mon-Fri and I am down here Mon evening through Thursday. Would it be possible to catch breakfast sometime on a Saturday morning? Probably the best I can do at this point given our schedules. I probably should add I personally know this Representative. He was my high school history teacher and basically ran his campaign from local friends and family support. Anything specific you feel I should bring up? Obviously the idea that the ear plugs are a safety concern. Other thoughts?

  5. I'm an Isle of Mann freak. Not for the crashes and gore but for the mad skills these crazy bastards have. And before someone reams my wrinkled old ass, riding at this level is beyond my physical ability. http://www.youtube.com/embed/IzQLl9cLt6A

  6. Heeeeeeyyyyyy now. You remember what I brought out to play with one of your days there ........ BP is a big teaching item, thats why I just played on the Sumo instead of coach on it. Todd wouldn't let me coach on it only ride it. Thats why I only coached on the GSXR. BP taught race style yes, your BP should match. Mid O is not a place for dirtbike style. You will most likely break your leg if something goes wrong. Line, for gods sake stay on the line! Race line is also a teaching item, harder to do during novice follow the leader sessions when one guy isnt following and being off line makes you a hazzard and unpredictable. Novice has changed a bit since your last time and the cut loose afternoon doesnt happen instead we go in the groups but kinda let the group go their pace the last 2 sessions and the coach kinda chases and jumps in front as needed. My 450 topped at 100. Yea Id get ate up on the back straight but Id get it all right back in the turns. Mark may make some changes this season too so could be different yet again but either way stay in the race line and hold your own no looking back, its the rider behind you that has the task of making a clean pass. If you keep looking back and getting of line you make that pass dangerous.

  7. Well, The V-Strom required a rear tire change to a harder compound Mitas E-09 Darkar Knob! from the E-10 Dakar. The Z1K required a harder Pirelli Angel GT to match front. JIM, Thank you for the OR stickers for both bikes. Will were them with pride and defiance. .

  10. Nice job man!! I would be interested in showing up if he/you thinks it would be helpful. Here are some factoids to toss at him. While it is hard to be certain it appears that around 30 States already allow ear plugs. California started allowing them in 2004 and we can find no reports of issues because of this change. Noise levels at only 35 mph are in the range of 110 to 130 dB. Every doctor and hearing expert in the world will say over 85DB is bad news and will result in permanent hearing loss. This is NOT a loud bike issue, this is about the wind noise that is reaching these dB levels. Federal Law REQUIRES hearing protection over 85dB in the workplace, it is immoral for Ohio to require us by law to be exposed to levels far in excess of that. Some articles that contain testimonials from doctors and so on. http://www.ideastream.org/news/earplugs-helpful-but-illegal-for-ohio-motorcyclists http://legalmatch.typepad.com/businesslaw/2015/09/motorcyclists-object-to-state-laws-forbidding-use-of-earplugs.html

  11. lolz, I wasnt a big fan of that. I switched to the "faster" novice group and asked for a bump after the 2nd session if I recall correctly. I like how N2 runs it, CR's on track are pretty lax, dont hold you up much, let you run at your own pace (still cant pass them without the wave-by). If you want some one on one ask a CR before the session starts. Sometimes they will randomly find you and tag along and watch you and give you tips.

  13. The series I race in as well as the ama supermoto series allow motocross gear. Most road race style gear is designed for long high speed slides as the priority. The leather race suits have really good impact protection but the boots are lacking impact, bend and twist protection if your doing any off road or improper leg out riding. With the leather suit that is designed for elbows in and leaned forward riding position once you start getting tired you'll notice how much you're fighting the suit to be in proper supermoto body position. Overall leather suit offers more protection but will wear you out faster. The boots are just the opposite motocross style boots are more protective but less flexible so you lose comfort. (I wouldn't recommend taking brand new motocross style boots to the track either. Especially if you aren't used to them. When new they are really stiff and hard to shift and use rear brake.) About 90% of the guys I race with wear motocross style gear to race in because on the small kart tracks you move a lot on the bike and aren't going as fast as on an open track. The MX gear is sufficient and more conducive to proper body position. A majority of the AMA supermoto racers also ride in MX style gear. I'm currently racing in my leather suit and road race gloves with an MX helmet and boots. My street helmet wasn't comfortable with going over the jumps. My shoulders get really tired pushing my arms forward against my leathers to be in the proper elbows out position. So I'm in the process of buying MX gear. All I need now is the outer layer. Basically it boils down to track requirements and what your comfortable with. When I ride street I'm going to wear leathers with MX boots and an adv style helmet. If you want some pointers check out the YouTube videos of socal supermoto school. The ones about instruction are basically what they teach at the school.

  14. I have an iPhone 5c that I paid $1.99 for along with my last Verizon contract. It's about 4 years old now, and does not have nearly enough storage for modern apps, operating systems, and videos of my adorable children. I want to 'upgrade' to something with more storage. That does not necessarily mean a newer phone. a 32GB iPhone 5c would be fine. I rather enjoy being able to fit my phone into my pocket, the tail bag of my bike, cup holder of my car, etc. So which site is reputable and won't price-gouge me? is eBay a viable option?

  16. I use a pocket holster with a leather flap. The flap keeps most pocket lint out and makes it look like nothing more than a wallet
