I made that leap last year. Online dating is the worst thing ever and I don't really know anybody except co-workers and people on here I ride with in Columbus so I just gave up. /shrug More time and money for riding the motorcycles. On a separate note, lease to the new place signed this morning. It has a garage!3 points

I've been married once, I probably won't do it again. Green grass? When I'm completely unattached it seems like I can't find anyone worth asking out, like they've all suddenly vanished. But, when I'm dating someone, it seems like there's a parade of beautiful women that want to flirt with me. Honestly, I think it's a fucking conspiracy created by women to mess with my head.2 points

When I started looking for Mrs. Tonik 2.0 I picked up a few hobbies that I figured would appeal to both sexes and then found local groups that revolved around those hobbies. Found her in a group that did long distance bicycling.2 points

Down 42 pounds since November. Some of my golf buddies from High School are starting to join in on the healthy lifestyle, so I've had workout partners lately. Makes the time go by faster. I've been following a couch to 5k treadmill schedule and weight training on rest days.2 points

The wife and I went out to dinner tonight. Judging by the amount of white people here, this Cracker Barrel is the most appropriately named restaurant in the history of anything, ever.2 points

Kerist on a popsickle stick!!!!!!!!!!! Tim, ask her out. Tracy, go with him. What's the worst that could happen? Fuck a bunch of what people think. It is actually fun to be insane together. And I got my wife through a website. Didn't need any cash, coupons or medical exams. Best thing I've done in the last 10-40 years. Don't give me any bullshit about "distances"; I went to Syracuse New York to date. During winter.1 point

Got nearly all the parts in now except foot pegs and Rizoma mirrors coming tomorrow. The remaining are coming from Europe (slip-on, levers, and rad guard) so who knows when they'll come in. Hard to tell but I added so carbon fiber bits to the bike. Looks great. I found a place in GA that is relativlely inexpensive. I did a mini-review here - http://s1000xroa.com/forum/index.php?topic=67.msg152#msg1521 point

I am a self-centered douchbag and I don't know how my saint of a wife has stuck it out the last 22 years, but I'm glad she has because after reading this, I'd never make in the dating world. I'd probably become some kind of hermit. It doesn't help that I'm 5'4" (with my boots on).1 point

But sometimes you mow it in the other direction to be different. I Love my kids and enjoy them everyday but yea being a "family man" is wearing thin sometimes and ready to be done with it. But no regrets with momma bear she's a good one and never a dull moment. Just want to be able to fuck like aps all over the house when ever and where ever we want without those little bastards interfering.1 point

Yea, same. I'm still pretty shocked. I still think shes lying. We need to see a birth certificate. You know what helps those! Jim's Apple Pie and another motorcycle purchase! But really, I too have that feeling/ "pressure" (since most all of my friends are in serious relationships/ getting married/ buying houses/ having babies, and I'm always the 3rd, 5th, 7th, any odd numbered wheel wherever we go) that I "need" to find somebody like right now. Even my parents, particularly my mom are like, "when are you going to find a nice girl" that has nothing to do with motorcycling (she HATES motorcycles and literally thinks every motorcyclist falls under the Starboy's or Pirate-hooker category, yea its frustrating as shit.) But I keep telling myself everything happens for a reason, and every time I've been patient and waited, I've always ended up in a good or better spot that I would have if I rushed in. Without making it sound like I'm hitting on you, from my limited interactions with you, you seem like a cool, down to earth, honest person that is attractive to boot. Add the fact that you ride motorcycles makes you a "unicorn" . Any guy that isn't completely retarded should see these qualities and know that those kinds of people dont come around often in a lifetime. Especially the unicorn part! But then again, it is 2017 and no one has their head on straight in terms of what they truly want out of a relationship. Sounds like you do but "they" don't, that's a them problem not a you problem.1 point

It would not be nice to lie to her. I don't think that my dabbling can be called playing. It's something that I wish I could be proficient at but that's not gonna happen. I'm a cracker and have no rhythm. It's much worse than my ability to properly pilot a motorcycle.1 point

Have you looked at it like you're focusing on "you gotta get married?" Sounds a bit like it. I gave up on women finally after ten years of finding out just how people can be different (read crazy, ect.). I decided to quit dating seriously, quit picking girls up in bars (fun but sucks as bad as on-line dating). I laid back, enjoyed life and concentrated on work, riding and such. Bam! Met the mother of my 3 kids, have grandkids now (yeah I'm old) and have had a good life. And yeah I know I'm not hurting Dr. Phil one bit.1 point

I had done the racetech valves and springs in mine. Changed the rear shock for an Ohlins. If you go on the racetech website you can do their spring finder and input your info to get their recommendations for spring weight and it worked out perfect for me. Changing them is not hard but a few specific tools are needed. That oil service syringe makes it a ton easier.1 point

Him going to the place armed doesn't mean he was looking to kill someone. It's a possibility but it's more likely that he wanted to have it if he needed it for protection. I carry a gun almost everyday almost everywhere I go. Not because I want to kill someone but because I would prefer to prevent someone from killing me. With that being said I don't buy that the guy bought it from a friend and didn't know it was stolen. If that was the case why not wait for the police and straighten everything out? If I buy a bike without a title I do everything I can to check if it's stolen. I get all the information I can from the seller to identify them later if it doesn't have a title just incase it turns out to be stolen. I record make model and license plate of the vehicle they show up in or that are parked at the house if I meet them at home. That way I can forward the information to police if it comes back stolen after I buy it. That way my defense isn't I bought it from some guy off of the Internet. I'm not exactly buying the guy who shot thought his daughter was in danger of severe injury or death either. Especially if it was a youth size bike. But just because he had a gun doesn't automatically make him guilty. I think everyone who made bad decisions is going to or is paying for their choices. Trying to sell a stolen bike is a huge risk. Fighting when busted instead of just turning it over its a bigger risk. Shooting someone to protect someone is risky. If the guy who shot is found to be lying he's screwed as he should be. The police will be able to tell from the evidence.1 point

This. ^ Yes, bad all around. You're going to meet with a thief. It's fucking craigslist for God's sake. Yeah, I'd gone armed. I wouldn't take family members with me, I'd call on two riders who I trust, are level headed, and can handle themselves when shit goes south. I've helped recover several bikes through the years. Just like in the military, recon was done, we chose the time and place as much as we could. Worst that happened was a punk got his ass stomped. We tried once getting the cops (local) involved, but we were patted on the head and told "We'll look into it". Never heard shit about it. And who knows? This could have been the incident where Mr. Small Time would pull his 9 and step his game up. Instead of "Wake up Baby", we'd be reading "My Baby's a good boy he didn't shoot nobody"...with three people shot dead. The guy may have not had sufficient cause to shoot the thief, but I wasn't there. I'm sorry for all. But everyone chooses how to live their life. And we all have to take responsibility for our actions, words and thoughts.1 point

I'm pretty sure the Spoke Junkies ride starts basically as soon as the dust settles from the OMBC race start. I may just do the spoke junkies ride, but try to push my pace and do the entire trail in around 3 hours. Guys are saying they can do it in 2:20 in a race, and they're not the quickest, so 3 hours (8mph average) is a decent target.1 point

Would anyone be able to do Mohican on a Friday sometime? I am at the shop on weekends and office days are paid days off so I try to get out on Fridays. Thinking a Friday in May, maybe kick off memorial weekend?1 point
