  1. Rode the heck out of my bike trying to catch @durk. Good times indeed!

  2. Met @TreeFime (Ireland) in Lisbon and rode for 3hrs together. Great times. Starting to really like the Q3s. Noticed a big difference in the front brakes after replacing the eBay cheapies with some EBC pads. I think I also got all the air bubbles out of the lines from the previous owner. Feel like I chased that issue forever.

  7. Put header and mufflers back on, radiator back on with new coolant, forks reinstalled, front tire back on, rear brake caliper now has a new piston and seals, new brake pads and shims, flushed and bled front and rear brakes and clutch, started putting some of the plastic back on. The entire bike has now been gone through and ready for the next 25k miles...one season typically. Tomorrow, I'll do the throttle body sync and put the rest of the plastic on. That'll give me a few days to shake it down before heading for Texas.

  10. Road out to the Triple Nickel Diner from the Hock with the wife following on her Spyder. 78E to 555S, Lunch. then 555 down to 50W. Tried to take 144N out of Coolsville but ran into a flooded area that closed the road. Back tracked 33N to Chauncy on 13N- back roads home. Had a fresh Pirelli Angel GT Rear tire on the Z. The lunch was great. They have added more items and lunch specials, plus a assortment of home made pie's.

  17. For all weather I an very happy with my Olympia gear. But I wear Scorpion most of the time and layer since I have storage out the ass. But as Mike mentioned all of those are good. Its what fits you and makes you smile.

  18. I've had great luck with tourmaster. Just bought a advanced jacket and over pant from ridersdiscount for $265 total for both (you have to message him on here for prices like that) both are water proof breathable and have vents for warm westher riding and their sizes are generous for big guys with tall sizes available.

  19. The only all-weather riding suit I have now is the Adventure Style, REV’IT Poseidon Gore-Tex jacket and pants. They have a waterproof Norwegian Whale Foreskin outer layer that will keep you dry but it smells funny. If you are over 50 and have a large belly go a size larger on jacket. I blame it on a fatty Liver. I have a hot weather REVIT Cayenne Adventure Jacket and Pants from 2010 that has held up very well on and off road but you will need a rain suit. For the hot weather street bike ride I wear the REV’IT GT-R Air Textile Jacket and Pants. I think REVIT is a company over in Holland where they have great Coffee shops and Hookers. So it must be good.

  20. Since your OP states that you are looking for "water proof over pants" I would suggest "Moose" They have the larger sizes you need. Gortex waterproof will limit your choice and cost more. I just completed a Adventure Ride in November with someone on a new Honda AT and he had a 2 piece Firstgear riding suite that was sized for over the pants. great gear with a nice price. Good luck. B.

  22. I got a Firstgear jacket... practically a hand-me-down and it sucks. Klim is very expensive... overrated from what I hear by some.

  23. Caught a severe case of the "while I'm at its." I was only going to change front brake pads, then noticed a seal leak in the forks, so wheel off, forks out. Then check steering stem and it felt slightly rought, ok, stem out, new bearings on order. Then while I at it, check the air filter.. well shit, may as well do the pair valve plates while I can get at it and maybe change out the coolant and mbe..... Aw crap (fuck - did it again..)

  29. New bar risers and Racetech springs in last night courtesy of @JustinNck1 and his padre. Should have a new front, and after discovery of how far I was into the wear bars on the rear, a new one of those by the weekend. Also should have the LED light bar mounted by then too. That sucker is gonna be bright as hell.
