@DerekClouser no apologies needed, u did all the hard work, all the leg work, took all the head aches and put it together nicely. All the rest what happened is out of your control. And you did the right thing by canceling. Possibly weeded out new to the group guys and made it safe for them and us. Who ever showed up despite the risk involved knew what they were getting into. We all got to enjoy each other's company and a beautiful day of riding thx to your time and effort. So thx again and I mean every one will have the same opinion. Most grateful is Danimal.2 points

Apologies for not showing up to the actual ride. Once I actually cancelled, I didn't look at the weather again as a fear of gross overload. Then I get a phone call at 10 like, let's go meet them at the ride, weather took a change, so I suited up and headed south. Decided it was only a day for enjoying the ride, rather than footage, but I did stop to take a photo through one corner of @whaler @Tonik and @Kruse08 Nice meeting everyone at dinner. That place took forever to get the food, holy cow. and.... we only ordered salads! Look forward to seeing you guys at the fall one! I doubt it will happen though cause rain always cancels this event lol.2 points

A little project I tried with my Harbor Freight lift table. Wheeling a Vfr or A VStrom or my Super Hawk up onto table is pretty easy. You can also put the kickstand down without issue. Bigger bikes that you need to ride up onto the table is another story. Not enough room to put your feet down and if you center the bike the kickstand is useless. It is scary. I had these ramps in the rafters and decided put them to use. Made some bracketed and they just slide into place and are easily removed. Work pretty well.2 points

We will be doing our May ride on the 27th. Meet in the NW corner of the parking lot of Iron Pony at 9:00 am depart at 9:30 am. All are welcome to join us, nobody is left behind. We ride a spirited pace but wait at all route turns. This month's ride is going to be a long one, just over 300 miles heading out to Beallsville Diner for lunch then heading south through Marietta before returning home. Beallsville Diner does not accept plastic so bring cash for a great lunch. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/206963891 point

I wouldn't necessarily mind using a phone for navigation, but every one I've tried fails in extreme weather conditions. It's either the extreme heat/full sun situations that cause them to overheat (plus keeping the screen on and running apps full time), HF vibrations from the bars, humidity, cold, whatever and they eventually fail me. My phone is too important to me when I'm away from home to subject it to that abuse, not to mention that I'm one of those geezers with a limited data plan. I've been using Garmin Zumo gps units for years now with none of those problems. They are tough. My current setup uses an old 550 for basic functions like speed and "what if" routes and a 665 for primary navigation, weather, radio and traffic. I also don't like using a Bluetooth device when I'm riding solo because of battery life. Yes, my Sena 20s has a cord that will charge the unit while I ride, but it's much simpler for me to just plug my helmet speakers directly in, everything being powered by the bike, no batteries to charge, no Bluetooth device to go crazy when it gets wet (the 20s does that, makes me angry). I can and routinely ride 14+ hours a day with no drama like this. For just casual riding or commuting, I wouldn't need this setup, but just a phone would be inadequate for long distance stuff.1 point

IP, I received mine as a gift from the family. I would not have spent that much for a GPS if I was paying for it.1 point

Yep, I tried after the last sygic update but you still can't import routes. I even emailed their support about it and the answer they gave me was simply you can import favorite places and they never directly addressed my question. After that I decided not to waste my time with them.1 point

I don't do Iphones. It is my understanding that you can not import routes in iPhone Sygic. @ScubaCinci tried and failed, and he is no slouch on tech. Lets see what he has to say about that to be sure You can modify the route manually on Sygic.... you can drag and drop the route but on that small screen it really sucks and is only usefull for minor route fixes. One option is get a cheap used android phone. You dont need to put it on verizon or whoever you can do it all via wifi. Bit then you have to learn android...get a google account and carry two pbones. Might as well by a Garmin man.1 point

This is the traditional signal for a signal being on. The middle finger at the end is optional but strongly recommeded.1 point

I forgot to tell @DerekClouser yesterday when he showed up after the ride was over that the route was excellent. Even Marrietta wasnt terrible and is a good stopping point no matter which way you run the route.1 point

I know that "bump" on 676. There's a big sign before it that says something like: BUMP! It's not a bump. It's an Evel Knievel bus ramp.1 point

I was with them, prolly camera running at that time and I want to apologize to the groups, I was filtering in out, making sudden stops pull over etc, I never ever do it in real ride. This was all for the sake to get some video different views and riders etc.1 point

If they don't have bacon in heaven I don't want to go there. Bacon, ,good tomatoes, & Cabot extra sharp cheddar melted till it's bubbly on a perfectly toasted English muffin for dinner here.1 point
