Only did 240 miles in the Ozarks today. I personally didn't take any pics but basically we got rained out. I'm talking biblical proportions. Made it the first leg of the day to Jasper with minimal wetness and one very epic road and yet another gravel butt pucker section. Then the heavens opened up. I mean i lt poured on curvey mountain roads, there were river running across the road and couldn't see shit. We said fuck it and booked it short cut style to the next hotel. It never did clear up so we abandoned the rest of the routes for the day. Other than the one section of what we saw I'm not that impressed with the roads and tarmac down here, medioaker at best with decent views. Got the "Arkansas Dragon" tommorow we will see what it's all about. We were all in good spirits considering the day being a wash till we get to a ruby Tuesday's right next to the hotel and have the waitress tell us it was a dry county and the only drinks you can buy are at restaurants. And they rape you for $5 bottles. Beer run is 40 miles away and we said fuck that in the rain. So the guys helped polish off my bottle of rum I brought by the indoor pool as we waited for out gear to dry off. Still a awesome trip so far. Back is feeling good and having a blast with the guys.6 points

Big props to #Dizzledan. My bike no longer has an air gap in the fuel delivery system. I have to finish putting everything back together tomorrow but she is up and running.6 points

I was pulling into their parking lot when you posted this. Got 'em. They look real good, not used too much so I am very hopeful. Will put one on the second I get home tonight of course. It was quite the operation, two giant metal barns in the middle of a corn field. Peeps stripping wrecked bikes all over the place, more peeps entering the parts on ebay, and even more peeps shipping stuff. I expect @Casper will come up with some lame reason at the last second to not stay in Boone as part of his plan to ditch me. So keep me posted please. Yea, we both need a few drinks.4 points

For the record, parts in. Charging 14.45 at idle like it always does. Aftermarket volt gauge looked normal for 25 miles. I will run it to work tomorrow but it is fine3 points

Correct, 100k. Hardest thing I've ever done on two wheels! Quad crushing climbs, jarring descents, and I lost my keys early on in the race! Phone locked in the car, don't know wife's cell # to bring me a spare, so I spent most the race trying to figure out how to get a hold of her. All aid stations had no cell service, so no help there. Got to the last aid station and told them my situation to which they replied "O you mean these keys?!" and held up my set of keys as a light shined directly on them from the sky above! I've never felt so relieved in my life! Was able to really enjoy the last few miles, cept the day took it's toll as did all the sugary gels and heed drink. Felt like throwing up the last few miles, but made it in. Hit a max speed of 45 on some gravel roads, fastest I've been all season on either road bike or MTB! I was able to pass people on the gravel, but they would pass me on the trail. Need more single track work... Had a great time and will be back next year! https://www.strava.com/activities/1019617885 https://www.relive.cc/view/10196178853 points

Anyone want to check out my sister's wedding venue while we're in Suches? It's looking like the wedding will be the week after next year's June Gap Trip. 2 weeks in the Smokies, where do I sign up? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Montaluce+Winery+%26+Restaurant/@34.6222555,-84.0601951,12.25z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x885f6f0acd98802d:0xb534d9eafe4aa74a!8m2!3d34.563803!4d-84.0579461 point

That's what the wife and I are doing as well, should pass through Cinci about 5-515am. Should still be clear at that time.1 point

At the request of @Bad324 3 lbs eye of round roast (or London Broil) Cutting the meat is the most important step. Trim off as much fat as possible. Cut into slices 1/4 inch thick (the more constistent the better). Cut with the grain of the meat. Tip** it's much easier to cut if the meat almost completely frozen. 1/2 cup Soy sauce 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup Terrayki sauce (or pineapple juice, or Coca Cola, or anything sweet) 2 tablespoons liquid smoke 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon meat tenderizer 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon chili powder Put everything in a large ziplock bag and refridgerate overnight. Takes 5-7 hours to dehydrate. Time depends on your dehydrator and how thickly you sliced the meat. You'll wind up with something like this. Way better than store bought and healthier.1 point

I just heard on the radio that Trump is planning on visiting Southwest Ohio, Cincinnati area, on Wednesday so if you are leaving out on that day and going through Cincinnati you may want to consider a different route.1 point

I am 6'3" started on a 600 f4i and next to a GSXR1000. I did ok but also spent a ton of saddle time on that 600 and then dropped a tooth on front sprocket and raised two on the back before jumping to 1000. I had another Marine Sgt tell me in Iraq that he got back he was buying the same GSXR I had. I asked how much ride time you have and his reply was "never ridden but I'll pick it up quick". I suggested that he started on something a bit smaller to start and get his throttle control and basics in cement before the 1000 comes home. Of course I was a lower rank at that point so my opinion meant squat to him. So we return and went on our leave for a few weeks after being cleared by the docs. When we returned the same guy calls me and asks me to swing by his garage. I am thinking he wants to rub in my face he has a bike and he didn't need my opinion. Instead he walks me in a garage where I find a completely mangled GXSR1000. Instead wanted to know if I could fix it. Basically he bought one wrecked it leaving dealer (to much throttle and dropped it) dealer tacks couple grand on and gives him another new bike and his brother rides it home. Before returning to base he was riding and gave some throttle and bike wheelies high and he hits at least 80 before loosing control and ditching tossing the brand new bike down the road. Luckily his pride was the only harm done to him or bystanders but a new bike looked like a junkyard find. Sorry for the long post but in my opinion and lots of others shared above bikes with loads of torque and HP do not make first bikes as they are unforgiving. You may make it out alive but at the end of the day it's your life unless you are unfortunate enough to ride it into another motorist. If you start smaller and need to move up the small loss you may take on a bike to move up is less than the potential medical bills if you get above your skill level to soon.1 point

I thought you were just meeting us in Boone, and then bailing for another route the next day. I wouldn't say you're doing the same thing as us. There is a Hampton Inn in Boone. That's our plan, but plans change.-1 points
