Haha don't worry @CurbedSedition you are doing okay, he was just being a punk oe thing I will tell you that helps is, posting a solid plan. Most times trying to discuss and getting opinion etc to come up with one plan fizzles out. So go ahead and post a solid plan as in having these details helps, date of ride route Expected pace of ride / style of ride time of start and expected finish time and location any lunch stop planned etc etc anyways good luck with the plans , ur doing nothing wrong. Wish more peeps would post up rides. On a side note, majority of active riders in here are sporty riders on variety of bikes. Almost all are atgatt and ride back roads at fun to spirited pace to "are u insane" . It will be hard pressed to find riders that prefer a casual parade style / cruising / scenic / group. ( nothing wrong with those rides, just not the active crowd here) but hopefully more rides like that are posted and more of those lurking peeps would become active and change the scene around. Good luck2 points

He is trolling you, just tell him to F' off and die. Although when posting a ride it is a good idea to include your basic riding style. Fast, slow...Mach Retard. Just so peeps know what they are getting into.2 points

I went to a zoo the other day. The only animal they had was one small dog. It was a shih-tzu.2 points

When you look through the member list, so many peeps with cruisers, they prolly not active because of us rookie racer wanna be folks always populating every thread with our inner circle banter and inside jokes. It's tough to break into such a hard packed close group of jackass friend circle who pretend to be sworn enemies here while being closer than family. Many ways this might be start of new revolution. @CurbedSedition Go ahead and post a scenic/ ride with a great route and stops. You can pm this angry grand father > @Tonik for help as he can give you a rough plan in 2 mins hope fully many more post up and make it a constant thing. Choosing slow or fun scenic pace should not be seen as something to be shunned at. It's a sign of maturity and responsibility.1 point

This is a true statement and an acceptable thread cock block. I will need to find another way to amuse myself.1 point

The opportunity to tell you to fuck off and die out weighed the amusement value of watching a noob squirm.1 point

Fair enough. Since there are not specific folders for specific motorcycle types you can post your stuff in the same sub forums as the other 'riders'. Daily ride, events and so on all fill the same need for all 'riders'. @Casper Make it so!1 point

Bullshit, it went away so you could parade around in spandex in your cycling forum. Cycling forum on a motorcycle message board, yea that makes sense.1 point

Thinking out loud, but I got it. Grinding into gear would be the dogs for both cars and bikes, not the actual gears. They look different, but work the same, minus the synchros.1 point

You'll never get it if you try to figure it out analyzing every possibility. Just Try some RPM matching on upshifts & see what happens. When you do it wrong your bike will tell you. When you do it right your bike will tell you. If you suck at it, your mechanic will tell you.1 point

Remember...It is far better for a chain to be too loose than too tight...within reason. AND, there is no sense in lubing a dirty chain, if it is an O-ring/X-ring chain.1 point

I am up in Marysville and work in Dublin. I might be able to make something depending on what is going on then. There are not a ton of great roads up this way since it is a lot of straight farm roads. I normally set out in a direction and make whatever turns seem good until I'm lost and then figure out the way back.1 point

I'm happy to live in hillbilly country. All your big cities suck equally in my opinion.1 point

What Kevin said is good advice. If you don't have chain cleaner, kerosene or wd-40 are great alternatives for cleaning your chain. Won't damage the o-rings and gets it nice and shiny. Wait for the cleaner to dry and apply a nice chain lube/wax. Check tension (follow your manual) and let the lube/wax setup. Every 600 or so miles is good rule of thumb unless you ride in rain or really sloppy conditions and then do it afterwards every time.1 point

I like to ride with people. Riding alone is awesome sometimes, but, riding with others somehow is better.1 point

I did, told @theroamrpretty much as soon as I got the news. And I chose to leave after a bit. My suggestion wasn't for 1000+ posters. It was to help people new to the board. Also, just FYI I was off the board from 2010 until recently. Relearning the people now.1 point

Using a clay bar alone can make a difference in some cars. It is used to get contaminates that are stuck in the clear coat off. Things that a normal wash will not remove. If you think your car might need to be clayed do the baggie test. Take a sandwich bag and put your hand in it and run it over the paint. Does it feel rough and have little bumps in it or is it smooth? If it's bumpy a clay bar will get those things out. You can use traditional clay or a Nanoskin style clay. I have the Nanoskin brand and it is amazing and highly recommend it, main thing is if you drop it you can rinse it off and keep using it unlike traditional clay and it lasts a lot longer (I'm about 8 cars worth in and it's still going strong). You can also use a decon step with something like CarPro IronX to help remove more before you clay to save your arms some work. If you are going to be using any kind of buffer and you have not clayed you run the risk of those small particulates sticking to the pad and then being spun around and scratching your paint. My current compound and polishes I use are Meguiars Ultimate compound and their Ultimate Polish. I'm planning on switching to using Griot's Garage Fast Correcting Cream for my compound and possibly their polish as well. I use an all-in-one product as well (polish and sealant) from Chemical guys called Blacklight. It's marketed as a sealant but it has small abrasives in it for very minor correction and used with a polishing pad can leave a great finish and it's a sealant so you get that added benefit as well. Once I run out of it I will be giving Optimum GPS a try. I use compounds with a Microfiber cutting pad, polishes with a white foam pad and AIO with a white foam pad as well. I have an orange foam pad that I use sometimes with the polish and AIO but it is case to case basis. After polishing or before applying a wax or sealant use something like CarPro Eraser or a 10-20% IPA (isopropyl alcohol) on the paint to ensure a clean surface to allow the wax/sealant to bond properly. This was after I washed, clayed, Blacklight applied with a white pad then some spray wax after it had cured for about an hour.1 point
