Perfect day, I'll be back next Monday or Tuesday. Depending on when @durk is able to get out. Happy to get two buddies out who have never been to the track before, one on an SV1000 and the other on his BMW K1600 GTL. They both had a great time and I'm working on the guy with the BMW to buy Andy's Duc for his next time out to the track.1 point

Happy 4th of July. I worked on my motorcycle and got sunburnt in the pool. How much more merica can I be?1 point

I get bored at the beach, but smoking a cigar and drinking a couple IPAs at the beach is pretty enjoyable.1 point

And... clicking that link sent me down the wormhole of petpixels posts, causing me to want to use the camera more (as I should be, anyway.)1 point

Dress points with Emory paper or crocus cloth, clean with contact cleaner spray. Easy job and should fix it, or at least remove points from the equation. Next items to check would be all associated wiring connectors, then coil, then cdi box. Again, pretty simple stuff. Possible magneto is bad, but more likely it's one of the ignition components.1 point

I'm keeping it a surprise. It's a bike people know on these forums, I'll leave it at that. Thought you'd start those bike reveal threads and then get off scot free eh?1 point

Seems awfully advanced for a 77 enduro My 74 DT360 was magneto and points. If the points got wet they could be rested and not conducting. Open them up clean them up make sure they are making contact and chase spark from there1 point

I agree. I've rode 536 3-4 times. It is definitely twisty and the video does it no justice. I feel like I ride it at a turtle's pace. I struggle to get comfortable on it.1 point

Track was empty, weather was beautiful, much fun was had and lots of learning took place. Thanks for stopping by @jschaf and @tall_tracy1 point

How are you liking the Streety so far Nivin? **Forgot to add - there was a white street triple in the A group at Mid Ohio yesterday. It's possible to run a hot pace on the track with it, I now have evidence.1 point

Gave the old girl an ABSectomy 2003 bmw with the servo linked abs system.{the one everyone complains about} The module was giving me fits worked about half the time think it was going bad by what i read in the net. 2500 plus for a new one plus install and complicated bleeding of the system {I tried it once ended up at the dealer to reset the brains} or half to remove and send off for rebuild Did some research and deleted the whole system. Now I have to learn to ride a bike with regular brakes, that system made me lazy. You could just stomp on the rear brake pedal and you get anti lock front and rear .But good stopping distance though. Worked out good pretty easy job and getting used to the brakes now that they are separate and not anti lock. watched some videos on you tube and read a few form posts on it now I am a you tube certified mechanic. LOL FLAME AWAY!1 point

That's between you and him. Our agreement was just to provide a bit of additional eye candy.1 point

Allow me to elaborate. Air(gases) tend to absorb and radiate heat less than solids. When trapped. And trapped really means without much room to move around. So in this case, an air mattress has quite a bit of room for the air to move and transfer heat. Since the ability of the ground to absorb heat is large, the warmed air hits the bottom and loses some heat. Not a large amount but way more than you seem to believe. In fact it's not much less than contact with the ground over time. Now take the air and put it in 1000s of bubbles like a foam pad, and the air in the pad really really raises the insulative properties of the pad. The transfer of the heat to and from thousands of air bubbles back and forth to the foam material itself and the air slows the heat loss greatly (much much more than pure air). Even blankets help, but not much, because laying on it removes most of the air and allows most of the transfer to happen as if it was just one layer. So yes, air is insulative. When trapped in small spaces.1 point

I am going to try and make it, just had a kid born yesterday so need to make sure everything is good on that front. Also I haven't been to mid ohio yet this year so it might be a bit of a struggle.1 point
