Holy crap, I can do Novice track days now!!

You can't go wrong with a sport touring tire. They stick just fine and have better wet weather characteristics than a supersport tire. Of course opinions are like assholes. Each tire has it's advantages and disadvantages.

So I just visited again. Yes @NinjaDoc the movements are significant. Entire body, arms legs head and not just from stimulus. Today he started to sit up....raised himself up several inches. And the movement is frequent. No changes since yesterday. Still running a 38.3 fever with fluid in lungs. So they are postponing removing the ventilator and waking him. Perhaps until Friday, but maybe tomorrow. The family really needs our visits, it really helps them. They are good peeps.

Think we're comparing apple to onions here. Yea I'll chew up a t30 in 3000 but I'm rolling at 1000lbs toured out. You'll get much more out that feather weight bike but I can't say how much better. But I will say they stick like glue are great in wet wear even and are inexpensive

Ok, we pretty much have a deal here. Assuming the bike fits me decently, is pretty much as advertised I will buy it. I am assuming the tile is clear, so I propose the following: I will come over Friday, Saturday or Sunday...your choice...and bring 2700 bucks with me. I will check it out in the driveway and if all is good I will commit to the bike 100 percent pending a quick test ride. The test ride will ONLY be to confirm there is no engine or transmission problems. A quick run around the block to run it through the gears (at a very sane speed). Prior to the test ride I will hand you 2700 dollars. If I drop the bike or do anything to it at all in the slightest you keep the 2700 bucks and hand me the title and we part friends. Again, no test ride until the only question left in my mind is that the mechanics of the engine and tranny are solid AND you have the cash in your hand. I am sure they are, but I need to hear it. FWIW, I am old too. I work in IT for a school district and every year have to pass a background check. And everyone here knows me very well. My real name is Jim, call me at your convenience at . Looking good man! I ran my own personal 5K today...farthest I've run in a long time. Never been a big running fan but it gets results for me. Starting to drop more weight and getting pretty damn strong from hitting the weights a lot...got 330 up on the bench yesterday though that much weight is tough on my old shoulders.

Not much update recently, but after seeing the picture Doc took today, I figured I would show a comparison. It's crazy how much better I feel in the bike since losing weight and adding muscle.

Haters gonna hate. I had some feathering on my PR4s, but then I adjusted my Ohlins. And I've never had a problem with them searching or wandering, or even grip problems on my FZ09.

I'm down about 18 lbs since the beginning of the year. 10lbs of calorie counting, which sucked, and 8 lbs of keto diet, which is awesome. Keto diet has been giving me way better sleep and also cleared up my skin. I did it originally as a test to see what my distance running would look like, but it's done great things for me so I will probably stick to it.

I should have picked it up tonight. Probably gonna pull a @NinjaDoc and stay up all night.

This is not good to hear... This just reminds me so much of my brother it's kind of sickening. When my brother crashed, the initial report I got was that he was seriously hurt and wasn't likely to make it. Then I get to the hospital and all the things the doctors told me were positive things from the initial report so I kind of got my hopes up... Then they stabilized him and took him to surgery, even more positives and more hopes... Then the doctors came and told me he didn't make it. Almost exactly 5 years to this date 7-12-12 I just hope it's not the same thing... It's the worst when bad things happen to such great people. John, we are still all rooting for you. Don't give up, keep fighting! You can do this!

I ran my own personal 5k for the 4th time in 2 weeks after work today. Was damn hot but I averaged just under 10.5 min/mi which isn't too bad for an old guy who has severe tendonitis in his Achilles that will be surgically repaired in September! I've never liked running much but it gets results...

Depends on how fast you plan on riding your new bike in the corners. Fast, get Pirelli Angel GTs. Faster, get Dunlop Q3s, Fastest, get the Pirelli Supercorsa's that Mike mentioned. Oh, & Congrats on the new ride. It'll be a little different I imagine. Hope to get a chance to ride with you this summer.

Why is it that one one part of a job goes easy the rest of it becomes the biggest pain in the butt? I went to swap out tires today. I removed the front tire and replaced it in seconds. I was finished with that in record time for me and I had a feeling that meant something not good was about to happen. Then I could not get the bead to set for anything and as I was trying to get it to seat my air compressor died. I'm talking shrapnel including bearings and everything laying on the floor. Grant it the air compressor is like 15 years old. After going and purchasing a new air compressor and losing some arm hair to the fire installation of that front tire I got everything done.

I don't know if it was the moving, packing, or the new climate, or all of the above.... but I dropped from 178 to 151. Now doing pushups, sit-ups, and squat thrusts to try and get some back. Maybe bicycle, hiking, swimming, or sprints coming up. btw, BMI ratings have gotten downright mean. 145 is lean and perfectly normal for me. BMI ratings think I should be a notch lower than that, like 129... I don't think so.

No one has suggested Pirelli Angel GTs? Had 'em on my Zed1K and my FZ1 and absolutely loved 'em. Sticky in both dry and wet. Decent...maybe above average wear mileage. Definitely go with the 55 profile on the rear!!!

Michelin Pilot Road 4s. I've done everything from a cross country tour, to Breckenridge in the snow, to Pikes Peak and the Dragon in a down pour. Never let me down once, and always last 10k. And I live in the land of flat square 1 mile blocks.

Our insurance started an annual health assessment for discounts and got the results back the day we got home from vacation. Although I knew this to be the case, it didn't hit home until I saw the words "grossly overweight" in writing and some other issues that could be cropping up because of it. So it's time to not just diet but commit to a bit of a lifestyle modification to get long term results. I know I'll fail if I try to do too much at once so it's baby steps for right now.

Me and wife rented a 1200 RT and rode for around 9- 10 days in west coast. All loaded up with big top case and panniers, bike felt very heavy, struggled the first two days. And by fourth fifth day we were passing avg sports bike in twisties two up. The bike boxer and its low CG was helping a lot to make it feel well planted and enjoyable. She had a great time, and I was really enjoying myself. It was not exciting but a real easy fun bike to chew up miles. Video we made years ago.

I looked at KBB. Its' trade in value is 2740 good condition. trade in value would always be more than outright sale to dealer as a trade in they're making money on the bike you're trading it in for. The KBB site page stated the average expected mileage for that year and size would/should be 21,150 miles and that condition is more important than mileage. So with the condition and mileage of only 476, $2700 will get it !!! Low enough ?

I can't help with your sag question but I did find this. As he states this is basic but he really makes it easy to understand. Pack the tools you need, pen and pad to write down your starting settings and the changes you make with the results. Thinking spread sheet kinda thing. Map yourself a short loop, suit up and go play. You will not break anything by turning the adjusters. The positive that will come from this is that you will learn which adjuster does what and where you want them set for the type of ride you are going to do. The more you play the more knowledge you will gain.

The VFR is a great bike for solo rides or short rides with a passenger. Personally, I'd get an FJR if 2 up riding is a big part of the equation.
