Awesome day at the track yesterday! We did get rain towards the latter part of the day which brought things to a stop, but we were able to get in 5 great sessions. Thanks @TimTheAzn for letting us use the garage. Thank you @J_Copeland for the tow on my very first Intermediate Session. Good to learn some spots where I was being lazy at before in Novice and showed a lot of where I can make up quite a few seconds. Met @Bjorn and his significant other. Glad you guys had a great time. Hope your ride home wasn't too terribly wet. Hopefully we can see you at the next track event! And finally @JustinNck1 -- Awesome to witness your first track event! Anybody else going? I got myself a camping spot and will be there from Thursday night til Sunday evening. I'm going solo, and can have up to 3 tents in my spot, so there's room for more if you get yourself a weekend pass. Rainy on Friday, but looks to be good the rest of the time.

My headphone buds work well as ear plugs. Some do, some don't. But... after buying a nice Bell helmet that fits well, I don't need anything more than the helmet. It works. Putting the headphone buds on, actually increases wind/road noise. When the music is off, it's very obvious. The fit and quality of the helmet and the shape of the head has to be good, to expect results. If anything, I'd say the new helmet fits on the tight side, but doesn't feel uncomfortable after 600 miles of wearing it. The earphone buds hurt after a few hundred miles, so I take them off.

I've worked with ODOT and been involved in litigation with them. Like most goverment agencies they do not give a shit about anything but their budget. They will tell you what you want to hear so you leave them alone.

Nearby where I live, they were repaving a road I frequently ride. It was in the gravel stage and there was no warning sign for loose gravel, nothing. I think I have the video of it saved off. I was riding 2 up at the time as well. I went from road to gravel at about 50mph. Thankfully I was able to slowly decelerate and turn around. If I went down, I would've considered a lawsuit. Many road contractors do *not* consider motorcyclists at all. It should be a stringent requirement.

ODOT got back to me, totally understood what I was saying and said that accommodations will be required of contractors to better avoid these situations in future MOT's.

It's just the principle of it in my mind. It's not like she made a decision to drive in the stuff, the workers instructed her there, they should be liable for making it right... I wouldn't want to spend all the elbow grease on that unless I made a dumb decision and caused it myself.
