475 mile ride for BBQ in Weston, WV. Jim says this place sucks, but he is wrong. He must be thinking of another joint, because this shit is delicious. Better than that... the route there and back is phenomenal. It was so good I wanted to stop and take pics of a couple of the corners, but I had a deadline to meet. I left my house at 7:30 and was home at 5:15...and I had to swing by the office to get some things for next week's trip. So, I would have made my 5:00 arbitrary goal. I am calling it a win because I rode my ass off today and had a blast. I haven't done a solo cannonball run like this in a long time. You all missed out on a stellar set of roads. I am going to do this ride again in the spring, so be ready. I had a sandwich called "Pipeliner". It is the only thing I have eaten here, but this is just my second visit. I will choose something else next time, but that is a damn good sanwich. The garlic pickles are also very good. My dinner is also incredible. Today was a good day.2 points

It would be hard to find a more attractive area for great roads--as well as pretty good weather--than picking a small-ish city within 150 miles of the "confluence" of the KY-VA-TN-NC state lines. There are some awesome roads out west, but there are also monstrous distances of boring roads that connect different locations. Having the mountains within easy reach would give you more than just riding as an option, tho...2 points

Got to Deals Gap later than i thought. Hit the new section of the foot hills just after sunset the sky was a brilliant red color. Had the VIRB camera running hope it caught it. Also was running video on my night run through the dragon. 20 min from the lake to the gap store. Not a bad pace considering how sketchy it is at night. You use a whole different skill set running like that at night. Got here and got my tent set up. Drunk dude next to me passing out bud lights, i ain't mad about it..lol. Not sure tomorrows plan. Proably skyway and maybe cafe rel. They have the season finally of the fidy races at the gap store tomorrow night should be a good show as always. Couple more pics of today. Got a bunch on the VIRB camera but didbt bring the laptop.1 point

I'm actively looking to purchase some vacant land now, to build on the next 5 years. Eastern TN or KY is the most likely destination. Probably near Cherokee Lake or the Cumberland River. I want to build a cabin on some acres by water & hills and retire.1 point

This would be a discussion too lengthy for the average OR member's attention span--and pain threshold. Suffice it to say that there is always something substantial lost without the physical presence of grad students in a room working together and discussing course content. This is where the true learning takes place. Writing a solid master's thesis is just proof that one has achieved mastery of the course content comprising the degree requirements.1 point

I don't think so. About a year ago I was thinking about trying to go remote and where I would live. What would be a good central location to the tracks I frequent. Cleveland fortunately/unfortunately isnt that too terrible.1 point

We have already made that tentative plan. Our plan once last kid is out of school (2yrs) house is paid of in (5 yrs) and the Mrs, can locate a job. We are moving to Western Carolina's or Northern Georgia. Somewhere within that area. Why? Close to kick ass riding, closer to the coast because we love beaches and cruises. Milder winter but still not stupid hot summers. And there are always lots of medical jobs available in her field in that area for some reason. Already dumping huge amounts in my 401k now and ill just work part time and be semi retired. She will be my sugar momma.1 point
