Super glue, most likely. Although I've been known to ride with a six-pack on the tank. It stays there, sort of... edit: and all my votes go to Euro beers, mostly Belgian and German wheats.

I haven't done this list for a couple of years, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Most of the frenzy of places starting bike nights has died off. This just in. Looks like Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) will show back up. You know, the dude abandoned on the roof top, that cut his hand off to escape. www.michaelrookeronline.com I also ran into a girl at work that has read the entire Walking Dead comic book series. She said so far the show is following the comic books pretty well. I guess I might have to read them some nights. I guess I might have to ask her if she wants to go out and shoot some zombies some weekend. lol

We have Hooters Hillard on Fridays. Which is a pretty good venue. They don't have the bands anymore, but they will pack a lot of bikes in there. We used to go there. But, same deal. I'm not sure anyone is going there anymore. Meaning is mostly a bunch of cruisers that don't ride very often, just far enough to get to the bar and leave at dark. It is a different place for bikes after the sun goes down. I will say that. edit: The biggest in the downtown area is probably still Grandview Euro Bike Night on most second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Calendar here: http://www.eurobikenight.com/Schedule.html

Sure, but the last time I went there, it was all cruisers and none of youse guys showed up...

I want a bike night with a live band. Doesn't have to be a great band, just not a dude lip-synching solo to his own recordings crap... And Quacker State doesn't count. I want something new and different and fun. Must have fun. I'll try BWR again, but I don't have high hopes. It's just not the same as it was. That place used to be jumping, with a lot full of bikes, the place was packed, the band was good every week and some were great, food was always good and quick enough, the staff liked us, everyone was there, cops were complaining about the noise, we had fun... dammit

Rental? The girl or the domicile? Or both...

Or get primitive on it... travois http://sonic.net/~yeager/smtravios.JPG http://www.indiandogs.com/images/dogs/dog_travois_web.jpg https://www.engineeringforchange.org/news/images/March-2012/Travois-prototype.JPG Get the hand truck under, strapped to box, with long 2x4s zip tied to the hand truck. Tow with tractor. Or put 2x4s through the skid, zip tied in place, and just drag it with the tractor. edit: 10 foot 2x4 would reduce the felt weight (when lifting) by 3 to 1 or better. So 400 pounds would feel like 130 pounds, and that's split on each of two 2x4s.
-
Find another hand truck with 8 inch wheels, and put one on each end strapped on tight. Jam some wood between the trucks and the box so they tilt back a little bit and put the wheels on the ground. Push or tow with helpers to keep it balanced. I think if it can be tilted up just enough to tow with the tractor, just one hand cart will work ok. You'll have to have enough people to push/lift it onto the hand cart. Lit one end and shove the hand cart under? (And strap it.) Or open the box and carry it all in, one part at a time. I used to move skids by hand that had hundreds of pounds on them. Just lift one corner a tiny bit and swing it around. The skid is the lever, with the weight in the middle. Endless amounts of turning it till it gets to where it's going. Won't work too well on gravel. And.... the proper way is with a J-Bar and dollies. http://www.paccin.org/content.php?43-Moving-Crates-with-J-bars-Etc And if it comes on a skid that's open across the bottom. (And it probably will.) Run 2x4s through there and get some help. Just lift it and carry it or use the dollies too. I like this one. It's way quicker.

My parents had a Sedan DeVille that they wouldn't trust to get across town and back. It was that bad. Broke down all the time. It would just quit running and stop. Stuff going wrong all the time. ABS brakes failed, and the Cadillac mechanics couldn't figure out how to fix them. Just gave up and disconnected the ABS.

I just watched this one. I didn't know about the others, like the pinning and jamming. That's rather cool.

I see two fatal and 4 injury reports for Toledo motorcycles in the last two days. None are the one you saw.
-
Careful when you see a young one. When it drops to the ground like that, momma can possibly attack to defend it. Totally out of character, but it happens. I've come across young ones in the road, all confused, and never saw any other deer. At least not for a while.

I think it's just a comparison of application of technology, towards a possibly extreme technological change to society. Otherwise you are quite correct.

I used to like Chevys and Fords. But over time, I realized I was having to improve them a lot from how they left the factory. And then some things that couldn't change out too well. I give up... but I probably have no excuses driving a Jeep. I did like early Olds Cutlass though.

And we think our sportbikes have acceleration!

Yes. Re-geared for quarter mile, with a few other mods, a 919 can hit 1.6-1.8sec 0-60 times on a drag strip. Quarter mile times around 11.1- to 11.2 sec @120mph. Lots of torque. Stock gearing is about 2 seconds slower on 0-60. -
Either that, or a really weak car bumper... http://pic.lccz.com/attachment/photo/Mon_1206/270746_5dd9133913478107ecdada0a133f2.jpg

Mediated Matter. Will this be our future? Dr Science here again. Mediated Matter is design by using 3D printing of extreme complex object constructions, using a variety of materials with differing properties. Translation: Think of ultra light weight and ultra high strength body armor, that conforms to your body and moves with it for maximum comfort. Perhaps variable air flow, and perhaps custom tailored to your body. Also think the same for the body parts of a motorcycle. Before someone says a crazy surface texture isn't smooth through the air, think about rough surfaces make racing sail boats faster, and something similar is used on supersonic aircraft for boundary layer control of air flow. Mediated Matter is being compared to the introduction of the printing press (movable type). Something that revolutionized the entire world. If the cost of a large 3D solids printer would come down to something reasonable, I'd be all over it. http://www.3dprinter.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/mit-fish-sculpture.jpg http://web.media.mit.edu/~neri/site/projects/armour/files/smallimage_03.jpg http://ad009cdnb.archdaily.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/1331736719-rapidcraft-499x500.jpg Neri Oxman- British PhD at MIT, concentrating on this technology. She's designed a chair that morphs to the body. A "living-synthetic construction". Described as "...a chair that moves when you move, that adjusts to every muscle in your body, that responds like a living organism . . . a chair kind of like a really excellent lover...". http://blog.xpace.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/98_31_neri_oxman_a.jpg Links: http://www.wired.com/beyond_the_beyond/ http://www.3dprinter.net/mit-neri-oxman-3d-printing-in-art-and-design http://www.archdaily.com/216803/techne-mit%E2%80%99s-mediated-matter/ http://xpaceculturalcentre.blogspot.com/2011/03/mediated-matter.html

Off and on again a big fan. But mostly for the old DOS version to scan with. Or bootable current version from a CD. At one time it was the only way to get at polymorphic viruses. They would change faster than you could catch them, if the operating system was running. I don't use it much anymore.

1. Some notaries make you swear it's the truth. I find that humorous. 2. BMV sometimes sends out letters asking each party how much the transaction was. I haven't heard what happens if the two come back as a mis-match. 3. From experience, if you wreck the vehicle, the insurance company wants to pay out what was on the title. Particularly if it was another party's fault and a settlement from their insurance company. But your own insurance company would probably also offer the amount that was on the title. It's often not very much difference in cost, and I consider it good insurance.

muhahaha... sorry, had to laugh. It's way more complicated than it appears. Most would agree that the AVG or Avast will do well for free protection. I would back that up with occasional scans with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware as necessary. AVG and Avast are ACTIVE scanners, that are on all the time to protect. Install only one. Malwarebytes and Superantispyware are PASSIVE scanners on demand. They are excellent. Use both. I don't know much about the free Microsoft Essentials yet, I'll work on that. In the end, the only real long term protection, is to be able to re-image your computer when it's beyond saving. The modern alternative, is to run a virtual machine, which cannot be damaged like an ordinary operating system. Another alternative for the hard core, is to run a browser and operating system from a CD or DVD. Obviously that cannot be attacked. edit: Another modern alternative, is running the browser and operating system from a bootable USB drive.

Also, posted separately, Columbus received a federal grant for giving tickets in construction zones. Good for the entire Summer. That will cause lots of activity and revenue. (People aren't slowing down in the construction downtown, and that will be a big target.) And more importantly, this is an election year. I've always noticed much increased county activity in election years. That will last till the election is over. It might be my imagination, but I always thought that the city/township and state increased their revenue/tickets at the same time in the election years. And there is always the just because people are getting really bad driving habits, and most of them deserve a few tickets to adjust their behavior. Even the old "get a few of them off the road". edit: ok, one more. High school just graduated. As well as colleges. Patrols always increase for the start of Summer, when all the new drivers from high school hit the road.

Youse guys still racing up and down this thread?

I've been using Iron Pony, it's quick. I'm usually in a hurry to get it done. I carry mine in, but I've seen guys swap rears in the parking lot. Center stands win on that one. And yes, Hoblick can do the next one or two for this year.
