  1. I liked that. I have achieved amusement for the day.
  2. Some of the local air HD is repeated on cable, but I'm not sure if it's all of them or not. The digital tuner on the Sony has a separate set of tunings for the air waves, but I've never bothered to get an antenna. Just curious... I've made antennas before, if done right, they work very well.
  3. Those HD broadcast channels. What few there are. I'm not interested in 900 cable channels, 100 or so is plenty.
  4. Cool. Now decided to build one for the TV.
  5. I'm in. Yugo is pretty good stuff, it will sell out quickly.
  6. All reasons that "standards" were invented. But they could be a bit lighter.
  7. they are invisible, use your imagination... no, wait...
  8. A fair amount, I think. For those bikes with a crankshaft that is side to side. The evidence is with those other bikes that have crankshafts that are front to rear. They show a fair amount of influence over the bike's handling, by inducing a roll moment when in motion. Example is shifting gears will move the bike a little to the left or right. So I'd guess that a BMW or Moto Guzzi wouldn't be the best bike to try to do a flip in the air, nor a wheelie. It probably would try to roll when up there.
  9. RIP young rider. I went past there today. So sorry to hear.

They normally let me go with pay. I tend to incite to riot... Leaving for a 40% increase in pay would have something to do with that.
  11. Nay...inertia was responsible, without it there would be no reaction.
  12. Isn't brake cleaner MEK? Methyl Ethyl Ketone? Either way, use outdoors. Not good to breath the vapors.
  13. Suburb of Tampa Hey Ma! We're on camera! Robbing the McD! Oh, and four double cheeseburgers, please... Motorcycle Bandits Sought in Midnight McDonald’s Heist in Seffner: VIDEO Bikers rob McDonald's via drive-thru - Video Drive-through motorcycle bandits rob McDonald's in Seffner
  14. I wonder if bin Laden is still alive and being interrogated. We'd never know, we'd never hear or see Osama bin Laden ever again. A rich source of intel that would be hard to pass up, and easy to fake. I was wondering about the dumpy look of that place also. But if a squad of Seals tossed the place looking for stuff, it's about what we'd expect. I heard they took out about 4 duffel bags of data. Plus several computers, a lot of hard drives, and a big box full of thumb drives. edit: photos of the crashed Blackhawk in the courtyard. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3560829/Black-Hawks-blackened-wreck.html I've read it was hit by an RPG while in flight. The photos also appear to show two different helicopter tail sections. edit: actually, neither tail section looks exactly like a Blackhawk. It seems to be something else. wiki: The 160th SOAR fly MH-47G Chinooks, A/MH-6M Little Birds, MH-60K Black Hawks and MH-60L Black Hawks. None of which exactly match the parts. Who knows. editedit: wait, here ya go. Bill Sweetman knows... unknown stealth helicopter. http://www.channel4.com/news/stealth-chopper-helped-hit-bin-laden
  15. I never had a temp permit. It was a written exam and I got the endorsement. Yes, that was in the dawn of time, when you could get a motorcycle only license at age 14. They changed that to 16 of course, about a month before I turned 14... edit: actually, I remember coming back from the Army, and they made me start over again. But the exam course to ride on was nothing like the one overseas, which was much harder. I was the last one riding, and the officer waved me off the course after a few seconds riding...
  16. ok, this sux. I get up this morning, and it's... raining. A squall line developed between Marysville and Dayton late last night, and moved over Columbus. So this morning, it's still there. It didn't move much, and still isn't moving. Argh... Waiting 15 minutes to see if it can possible clear up a bit. Not likely, since I see more rain developing behind what is here now. Weather report didn't hold up... edit: gave up and drove the cage... And tomorrow predicted sunny with high of 65F. But... nearly freezing temps predicted for the morning, with patchy frost for some people between midnight and 9am.
  17. Recon Run: ride solo only stop for gas no peeing unless stopping for gas no water unless stopping for gas gas tank range 200-320 (idiot light to empty) repeat ambush group rides by hiding along the route where possible if tired, slab home on freeway and sleep on tank I thought all Marines spent a tour on Okinawa, or nearby. Most of them, anyway.
  18. Mucho riders on road tomorrow morning. I don't care if it's a bit cold. No rain, mostly dry. Watch out for silt sand dirt debris on road from all the water. edit: ok ok, 33% chance of .03"-.04" rain between 11am and 5pm on Weds. Might max at 2 hours. Temps 39F to 56F. Winds N to NW 5 to 9mph. Gusts 8 to 14. Minimal rain should be in the form of thunderstorms somewhere. Cold for May...
  19. I sorta know the feeling. I got knocked out by padded staff in basic training. A strike to the head. I woke up when I hit the ground sitting up, a few feet back. Still had my staff in my hands though.
  20. I'm so ordinary... 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4, 1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 5spd. Dumping 82 GMC van and 82 Z28 4spd. Maybe. I would own a Miata to play with... We used to do up Fiat 850, same difference.
  21. Or, you missed it, and just pushed all the wiring around so it's not happening anymore. Either way, it's now working. And you have a decent idea where to look if it happens again. It is difficult to find wiring shorts. If you meter it, you can't move the wiring much till it's found. And that's the main reason people hate looking for the problem.
  22. So the very large rain storm stalled out, didn't arrive during the day, and is just now getting here. I could have rode to work in a light drizzle this morning, had I known... You know you live in Ohio, when a light drizzle is attractive to ride in.
  23. One reason to live there, was that it was close enough to the capital city, to be within the air defense system. Anything flying would be intercepted by military aircraft. So no drones, snooping and shooting. edit: also, he was both a construction engineer and a mining engineer. I can't believe that villa didn't have at least a hide out in it. It should of had a few decent tunnels.
