Worse, E90 is pretty much what gasoline is now. And congress wants to make all gasoline to be E85, as the only thing available... That will make some older vehicles unhappy. Which will make auto manufacturers happy.

Exactly what I thought also...

Correct, but a large part of it is poor eyesight, not stupidity. Large numbers of drivers have poor eyesight and some combined with poor depth perception. Add in the compulsive "jump in front of another car", and it gets bad. One of my (non) favorites is cars that overtake, move to the front, and then chicken out in the fast lane. And stay right there, blocking traffic. btw, OSHP has new SUVs out on the road. New to me...

You know, a good burst of microwave, like from a search radar on a fighter jet, will drop birds right now. Not so much with fish though. The water absorbs the radiation. Hell, the water would try to boil... edit: nm, after reading of species dropping dead all over the planet... I'll go with it's "The Culling". A percent of each species on the planet must die...

COUNTDOWN 4950 and counting...

Top poser for 2010? I dunno, there's lots of candidates...

Wait, you'all missed something. Route 23, at least the part North of town, it used to be illegal to be in the left lane when a vehicle overtook you from behind. The OSHP used to hand out tickets all the time for that. No one drove in the left lane except to pass and get back in the right lane. As far as I know, that law hasn't changed. I'll stay in the right hand lane on Route 23...

Generally factory service manuals. If Honda, there is a generic service manual for basics also. Most Haynes and Clymer say the same thing in every manual... With a few pics and differences thrown in for the specific model. edit: oh, and a good set of parts diagrams is great to have also. sometimes that's the way to figure out what goes where, and what those left over parts are, before it's too late...

this was cruel, to have us listen to even a few seconds of that lead singer...

I've bought lots of stuff from Dennis Kirk. Prices could be a little bit lower, but they have an incredible selection on hand. I've found items there that I could find no where else.

It was a joke... It's supposed to be funny.

I've done it. With high temp engine paint. It's ok for a while, but then needs touch up again. Next time I'm using GunKote or DuraCoat. GunKote used to be made for British motorcycle air cooled engines, before they switched to the firearms market. There's at least one or more type that tempers up on the bike, without having to be baked in an oven.

Let's be serious here. It's a case of "careful what you wish for". If it's beer at 56 times normal flow (at max), well... then you need 56 times more kegs to tap from. That's at least one keg on each line, and all kegs have to change 56 times more often. So typically one line will always be down, getting a keg change. Ok, forget that part, your keg room has to be 56 times bigger. And your beer deliveries have to be 56 times more often. And... yeah... the breweries have to increase production, yup, 56 times normal output... Good luck with that.... Did I mention 56 times more people drinking beer and 56 times more drunks? And if people don't want to take a disposable beer cup home... the room (already full of those 56 times more drunks trying to get more beer...) will be about knee deep in discarded plastic beer cups? Ok, I suppose it's alright, if there are 56 dumpsters out back... edit: quick calculation... a single 30gal (imperial) keg feeding all four taps for pints, will go dry in less than 5 minutes at max rate. If using 4 kegs for four taps (for the max rate), all run dry in about 17 minutes. edit2: worst beer I've tried so far... Land Shark Lager... bad from sip one...

That's it! A bike can make all the loudness it wants, when it cuts loose. And I like it. Until it does that, I'm more impressed by a quiet bike that can perform when it wants to. I've seen too many bikes that claim to be faster/better when loud, but I don't see it happen. A few can, but most do not.

Just went through one. They let me skip the crazy stuff. I think they know me.....

Interesting...waiting for opinions on that...

You know, I really do like Bonnevilles. And metric Big4 Bonnies are basically better. So I'd like to see a W800 with carbon parts to lighten it up, and scrambler high pipes. Having said that, here's a German Clubman conversion that got introduced only two hours after the W800. LSL Clubman W 800 TR http://bikeexif.exifmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/kawasaki-w800-custom.jpg edit: oops, dang they got aftermarket stuff in Europe.... This is also already out for the W800: unknown source, found on http://zx6r.net/motorcycle-talk/

I like it. And I could get interested, but it weighs more than a 919. W800 appears to be about 70hp, 476 lbs, and 773cc. It's closer to being a 750. sometimes they round the cc up, and sometimes down.

The only measure of road speed on a motorcycle is revolutions of the front (old school) or rear tire, or revolutions of the engine/transmission related to the driven tire. Converted to mph. So any change to the responsible tire diameter will alter the ability to correctly display the road speed. So if a rear tire wears out, it's diameter decreases, and it will be going slower per an indicated speed. The opposite, putting a fresh tire on, results in faster road speeds per an indicated speed. And different tire manufacturer's have different overall diameters. As well as changing a profile aspect of a tire will too. It's even possible to change a diameter by over or under inflating a tire. It's never perfect, and often "off" in the first place. GPS in many cases, is more accurate.

All it takes for most bikes to hit max is a clean air filter.

Nice try, but I doubt if it would work well. Somebody would just associate drivers to the trust in the database. "known accomplices..." i.e. it's the plate that sets off the alarm, not the driver. edit: identifying the face of the driver, searching the database, and setting off the alarm. That will be next. It has been attempted in airports. Not too successful yet.

You've probably heard these mentioned, but there's not much information or talk about them. Here's a national news article that came out today, from the LA Times, about the use of the license plate reading by cameras. The cameras scan and record all plates, front and rear, and keep a photo of the vehicle. The cameras can generate an alert for wants and warrants, stolen, unpaid tickets, etc. All states and the federal government use them. They are found at major intersections, freeways, and on-board some police vehicles. License plate readers help police and Border Patrol, but worry privacy advocates - LA Times

Help Needed... Know someone who does professional fiberglass work?
ReconRat replied to Dubguy85's topic in Daily Ride
Most of the one piece tank and seat and tail fiberglass units, from that era, are what I would call rare and collectible. It's probably worth restoring. -
Were they posting there, before somebody (male) snuck in? Kinda obsolete with twitter and texting and stuff around.

Map sat ter buttons don't work on android. Map zooming removes the map sat ter buttons. Everything else seems to work on droid (Or has a work around.) Except it wont read gps location. Checking on that. (Menu-Get directions) edit: map sat ter buttons work on my Lenovo netbook. But the zoom out button doesn't work embedded. Strange, it worked on the droid. Obviously can click the link on top in all cases, and go to the google maps webpage of the same. Does appear to not read gps. Don't care, don't need that. On android, the menu-get directions opens the phone dialer. ? The menu-my location does nothing (that gps thing). Otherwise it's a wonderful addition to geekdom, and we appreciate it.
