I talked to your buddy in private to see if I could offer any help to him. Adam is a good guy and I hope your friend had a good experience, learned something and is a better rider from the experience. The ride there is boring until we get to Millersburg what was your impression of the ride once we got there.... totally worth it I guess and it only got better from there. Riding through the metro parks is a good start but not quite the same as Coshocton. There are blind drop offs where you can't see what's on the other side, there is gravel in turns plus you are riding with a group so you get a little charged up. Realizing this ahead of time can give you time to get your head on straight and form the plan firmly in your head that you won't let yourself get sucked in over your head. For every one of us except one there will be a faster rider on this ride just because you're not the fastest doesn't mean you won't be having a good time.

FOR SALE: 2009 Buell City X Cherry Bomb Red. For real this time.

That's why I carry those big double bags so they get tired looking through them to find the missing booty. -
Sorry about mixing you two up, you are both new and from the same area so I don't have you two straight yet. If you are not comfortable yet I can really respect your decision. No matter what we will be waiting on someone, I regret people getting the impression this is going to be a fast ride because that wasn't my intent. 70 MPH for the most part between the curves, passing on double yellow is acceptable and needed to keep things together. If you are not comfortable riding like that or just don't want to that's just fine all group rides are different. No one is expected to go fast through the curves at all that is a skill that takes time and experience to develop and we do not expect everyone to have the same skills. This is about meeting new folks and having some fun. Coshocton has some great roads around it that most people don't get to ride except for events like this.

I'm getting out of this that you won't have any excuse not to be on the ride because you have two bikes to ride. Good see you there. -
If your goal when you start a business is to hire as many people as you can and not make as much money as you can then you probably shouldn't own a business.
-
I was on it Saturday and there was no water on it but they still had the signs up. A lot can change in two weeks so we should wait until the 25th or 26th to send out the scouts.

That looks like the one that got away

This should be a fun time if everyone goes into it knowing what to expect. I would hope people know what they want to do and are responsible enough to make their own decisions about if this sounds like the type of riding they want to do. Some group rides don't go over the speed limit and they won't pass a car going -5 if there is a double yellow, this is not going to be that type of ride. No one is expected to ride faster that they can handle though. If you want to challenge someone to follow you through curves this might not be the group for you to ride with, we are not racing here and no one should be riding over their heads. (I expect everyone to congratulate me on my constraint here.)
-
If you are willing to try to keep a pace between curves and pass on double yellows you will be fine. I.P. is correct judging entrance speed is an important skill to have don't try to hold that 70 MPH pace too long if you should be slowing down for a curve. You won't be in anyone’s way after you find your appropriate spot in the group no matter what your pace is.
-
You will be fine this is not an expert’s only ride we will break it down to how ever many groups are necessary. I stated that people who are willing to exceed the speed limit should show up not people who want to race. There will be no trophies or timed events no one cares if you beat them to anywhere on the ride. The best rides are ones where no one goes down all day, if it takes you riding slower in the curves to keep upright no one will be bitching about you. You will however be bitched at if you are riding too fast, that's right too fast. If you are riding too fast for your skill level everyone around you can tell, you cross the yellow lines which should never happen unless you are passing a car. I expect everyone to say something to one of the leaders or to the actual person if they are riding too fast.
-
You shouldn't be drinking this early in the day. You might need to understand a little better what I said. The pace between the curves will be about 70 MPH; no one is expecting you to go quickly through the turns. Going quickly through the curves requires skill that you shouldn't have only riding a month and a half. Riding 70 MPH in a straight line doesn't require much skill. I want to be very clear with you that it is very easy to get sucked in over your head on rides like this with your experience level, do not try to keep up with anyone ever, ride your own pace and to your skill level. Wrecks change the mood of the whole ride; I would rather wait for someone than wait for the helicopter to take them to the hospital.

If you can't keep up Kevin we will miss you. The baby bites and yet Budell still tries to play with it. I am only trying to let people know what to expect from this group ride not exclude anyone. If this type of riding isn't your thing you shouldn't make an effort to show up only to not enjoy yourself and frustrate the rest of the group. There are plenty of rides posted that will meet other expectations, I don't show up on those rides and try to make them go faster and I don't feel like they are excluding me. If anyone has rode with me in the past I am willing to help anyone that shows up on a ride, if they ask for help or I can see where a little input could help them. I don't know the roads down there so Adam and the Coshocton crew will be leading, I most likely will be in some sort of support function once we get to Coshocton so this ride isn't all about me. I really enjoyed the last few rides down there and hope to help out where we all can enjoy another one.

FOR SALE: 2009 Buell City X Cherry Bomb Red. For real this time.

I'm expecting it to be around at least until June 27th because it has to go on the Coshocton ride. I can't be the only black guy there. -
How long for you to get to Coshocton? We are leaving from Adam's house at 10:00 AM You made the last ride fine why not this one? I am expecting newer riders to show up because it's posted on the internet; you can be the Queen of the slow group. I will make sure to have some zip ties for you. We should have enough support to handle the slower guys. I would suggest that anyone not comfortable with exceeding the speed limit by 15 MPH not show up. You don't have to go through curves any faster than you are comfortable but at least be willing to ride about 70 MPH between them. We state all the time around here that anyone can go fast straight without much skill and if you can't or aren't willing to do so this group ride isn't for you.
-
Especially since a fat white guy gave it to me.
-
I see you have made a preemptive strike. You just keep your mouth shut and lead one of your epic Coshocton rides. Haters will hate, riders will ride.
-
You have been away too long and we have decided no helmets is cool. Go back to Britain you sissy.
-
Garrett has an excuse plus we don't like folks from England. Justin has to make it because he is helping with ride support for the Northeast group getting down there. I will make a list, you will obey it.
-
Meeting spot will be the Circle K at the intersection of 82 & 83, 36024 W Royalton Road, Grafton, OH. We will be leaving at 8:00 am; it is 83 miles from the meeting spot to Adam's house so I am giving us 1:25 to ride with 20 minutes for gas with a 15 minute cushion in case we have to wake Parks up to get him going at 10:00 AM. If you make it to the meeting spot late you can catch us going south on 83, we will be cruising at about 70 MPH. Here is the Coshocton meeting spot. I hope we have good weather and no Katanas show up.

I started across the skyway but it started raining so I turned around. I went across it twice both times towing a trailer because we stayed in Robbinsville.
-
I make the gap real simple for me, front brake and first gear only. Nothing else to think about and I don't need to go over 90 down there. Complicated confuses us old guys and speed is scary.
-
I took the rest of the gears out of mine. It goes around 90 in first and I'm too scared to look down long enough to see how fast I'm really going. I don't know why anyone would need or want to go any faster that's why I got rid of the rest of the gears.
