Do not bring facts into an argument when you can't support them, that's just crazy talk. Sure that's fine for the bike but what about me; I have to be better off on the ground as soon as possible so my large surface area with its superior coefficient of friction can bring me safely to a stop.

Now you are starting to understand the theory behind the argument. The tire manufactures have it all wrong, just think how long chrome tires would last. Bike manufactures should have a safety lay down button on them that would throw the bike to the ground when in a panic situation. Tire and bike manufactures should be listening to these riders who have vast amounts of experience handling motorcycles and change their foolish ways.

I get that it wasn't funny but you seem to take exception to it even though its legal by your rulebook to make fun of them and that's not entirely fair. No one was making fun of people who died, they were complaining about the excessive number of R.I.P. threads that had no known personal contact with anyone here. I have an issue with someone posting in R.I.P threads with the attitude that somehow they needed killin because they weren't wearing a helmet. This was going to the point of being able to determine what is offensive to one isn't offensive to others. You are correct the helmet laws are not relevant to this discussion.

Again not breaking any rules except for your disagreement with the issue. Make it a rule you can't say anything negative about R.I.P. threads you have that control. I think it's kind of shitty when someone chimes in that they should be wearing a helmet in the R.I.P. threads but I don't muddy them up with a discussion about how we all have free choice and that people who don't ride motorcycles think those who do shouldn't because there is a chance they might be killed. It's a risk we all assume to our own personal level of risk/reward.

Fair enough I was under the wrong impression about "private" social groups. I don't understand why you took it down then. If we all had the ability to read it then the people participating in it shouldn't care if we are able to read it now. (I did read the majority of the posts before it was pulled.) If any rules were violated they should be suffering the consequences and all of us would understand clear transparent action taken. Why get rid of something that was public if it fit inside the rules? Other than the fact you didn’t like its content. If the content broke rules then why aren’t they being enforced? To my knowledge no one was banned or given a temporary suspension.

I love this site & hope you won't shut it down. I am trying to make a point about people’s worth as members. I do know some of the members in that group have organized and lead group rides. Not everyone is able to contribute the same but I don't think their opinions are necessarily worthless if they aren't comfortable being front men. I have also received offers of help from people in that SG that aren't motorcycle related so in my opinion the majority of them have contributed to the motorcycle community. I would hope in hindsight that this matter would have been handled like you first ruled against. Telling the people first what you thought they were doing was wrong and that you would impose consequences to their actions. If they would have thought that to be acceptable they could have stopped what they were doing or made it public so everyone could have commented on it. But that should have been their choice. I am having a hard time understanding the difference between a Private message and a Private social group that deems one more highly regarded as Private.

Just so we can be clear by your own words what level of contribution is required to offer criticism. This guideline might help people to understand what is expected of them to be members of standing worthy of being able to complain. You are the supreme ruler and shouldn’t be debating with the masses unless you care about their opinions, if that’s the case then you shouldn’t betray their trust. I have said childish things in PMs I have also said things in them that would probably get me banned. If these PMs were made public I would feel betrayed. We have the ability to PM five people at once which can be used as a mock SG. The same illegal activity can be conducted using PMs so the monitoring of SGs for illegal activity doesn’t hold water unless you are doing the same thing by monitoring PMs.

I am only guessing here but did Inya's deal fall through? I bought my new bike from Avon Honda without an issue. They are owned and managed by the same family as LE HD. Maybe it's because I went in there as white Tod and not black Tod?
