  1. Because Blitz isn't elaborating I'm going to. This was a very rare occasion that has only happened once since I've been riding with this core group of guys. We don't do lunches, extended stops and certainly don't sight see or do any tourists stuff. This picture is that once event. Once there we all start snapping pictures with our phones and even take a timed one with everyone in it. Blitz then gets everyone by their bikes for a group photo and is holding his camera wrong. (At least that's what I tell him because I know everything.) He explains that he can take a picture of all of us, someone can take a picture of him and he can put it all together. This picture is the result of that. I have no idea how many pictures are included in this end result but I know he didn't get everyone in one picture and for sure he wasn't in any of the ones he took. I love to see the result of people's skills. This is a great example of being impressed. PS. I could be a little skinnier and have less gray in my beard if you really wanted to impress me.
  2. I am seriously impressed with your editing skills. That almost seems impossible. Great picture. I can't believe we have all been past that place so many times before knowing it was there. That's what happens when you put two really good curves in the road right in front of it. Blitz, your PM is full.
  3. If there was an airplane the guilty party would have been stuffed and cuffed without the interrogation.
  4. From what I have seen in the past it's doubtful that both of them would have been caught and thrown under the jail. Most likely it would have been the one with the slowest motorcycle.
  5. He knew the answer to the question before he asked. He wasn't getting anywhere accusing me of being the hooligan on 83. It was an afterthought deep into the confrontation and I could see the aha gotcha moment come to him when he asked if I had a CCH license and if I was carrying. He needed to make something happen and at that point was just grasping for anything. Good thing I am totally legal with license, insurance and registration or I would have gotten some sort of citation out of this. He couldn't get me for anything he witnessed since I obeyed all traffic laws in his presence. Tonic has posted the correct information in that no duty to inform existed for this particular case since I wasn't armed at the time. I have my duty to inform rudely interrupting the police speech well rehearsed and can't wait until that stupid portion of the law disappears. In fact I wish the whole CCH license would just disappear.
  6. It wasn't me, it never was me and when faced with my accuser on the side of the road it still wasn't me. Tonic is most likely correct in that the highway patrol never made contact with the local police and if they did aren't going to waste resources chasing a maybe possible phantom motorcycle rider going faster than a volunteer fireman in an old pickup. The policeman did try to catch me up in a CCH issue but I don't usually carry when riding since I have no good way to deploy it in a reasonable amount of time. He also went through the whole where are you going routine followed by the where are you coming from routine. He didn't like both answers being the same and didn't like my explanation for that or my failure to elaborate. He did have to ask me again before I left that my statement to the highway patrol would be that it wasn't me. I told him it certainly would be since it wasn't.
  7. As I was approaching town I saw a city police car coming toward me. He turned around to follow me, I turned onto a side street and he followed me. He turned on his lights and asked if it could have possibly been me racing with another motorcycle on 83. I told him that it wasn't me and couldn't possibly be me since I was just out riding by myself. He takes all of my information back to his car and sits around for a while until his fireman buddy pulls up to wrongly identify me. He then tells me that I've been identified and I might as well admit I was riding recklessly. He wasn't getting any satisfaction from that new exchange so he tells me to hold tight and goes back to his car. When he comes back he tells me that the event took place in the highway patrols jurisdiction and that he has contacted them to meet us where I was pulled over. I was already mad but that put me over the top. I did get belligerent and the little fucker went back into his car. When he comes back out he tells me that he can't continue to detain me, using my exact words to release me that I spouted of before he went back into his car. Told me to expect the highway patrol to contact me because he is giving them all of my information.
  8. We rode 555 yesterday. I love that road. When it finally gets clean in the areas that are repaved and the areas that are gravel get repaved it will be returned to it's former glory. I don't think I've ridden that road on a motorcycle in a couple years and I forget how much I like it. It's an ignorant road to ride a 1K on but that also makes it fun. I'm still waiting on the highway patrol to call me, I wonder if they make house calls? The Lodi policeman told me to make sure that I answer my phone. Like I intend to change how I use my phone for him. He held me there for a while until a fireman came by to identify me. Once he was told that I was one of the guilty parties he started to apply more pressure to confess my guilt. The fireman radioed ahead from somewhere on 83 that's why they were waiting on any bike riding through their city. I don't know who that bike was but they must have been flying because it took a very long time for the fireman to get there to wrongly identify me.
  9. Made it home safe and sound. What a beautiful day. I got stopped in Lodi on the way home. Seems someone complained that there were a couple bikes racing in and out of traffic on 83. I was riding by myself and have no idea what they were talking about. Got sent on my way without a ticket but I should expect the Highway Patrol to contact me about reckless operation. If I find out who those two bikes are they are in big trouble.
  10. Roamr, notice how Tpoppa doesn't lie about the pace? https://www.google.com/maps/@40.1233286,-81.7706659,3a,75y,132.21h,97.11t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sGnGg4HJn-TfvnLUxJT_IrA!2e0!7i3328!8i1664?hl=en See you in Otsego
  11. Just finished all ride maintenance. Ready to go. If nothing changes between now and then I'll see you all in the morning.
  12. During the ride we had one contest of speed and as expected the I4s ruled supreme.
  13. All maintenance items checked and ready to go. I'm a go unless it's raining when I get ready to leave or I get rained on getting there or it's raining at the meeting spot in Otsego. I'm not riding in the rain again this year. I've only rode three times this year and two of them in rain. To address the Epic ride question. Most of the reasons are posted above. There were only two riders in the fast group this spring. On that ride we added miles to the route because there are so many good roads in the area and we could do them in the time the rest of the groups were out on their shorter route. From my horrible experience a few years ago associated but not involved with this ride I am very leery riding with people I don't know or at least having someone vouch for them that I trust. I am willing to walk away from a group that forms I'm not comfortable with, which leaves me riding alone for the day. I just don't want to take a chance seeing someone else get hurt riding over their head. I know it can happen at any time to any one of us in any group but I am comfortable riding with the guys in Roamers group.
  14. I think that the passing each other needs to be addressed. These rides are not free-for-alls and shouldn't be thought of as such. It is a rare occasion that passing someone you are riding with is acceptable behavior. If talked about and agreed upon beforehand among competent riders there are exceptions. I'm sure no one wants a new rider showing up trying to pass people that they are unfamiliar with. Sounds like the V-Rod guy has his act together and should be a good fit. I hope you have boots by now Jacob?
  15. Already committed to other plans for the weekend. You guys should make Roamer describe the pace he intends to lead you on. That way when you are all done you can call him a liar. Note to new guy I don't know with the V-Rod, normally cruisers can't keep up with this particular groups pace. I say normally because there certainly are and have been exceptions but if your line about the suspension being lowered is correct then I would suggest you find a more appropriate group to ride with on this site. While the V-Rod certainly is a capable machine and you may be a very good rider the bike has been hampered in a way to make it not conducive to this type of ride.
  16. Does Harry and Sally mean anything to you? Maggie's Mission.
  17. That's good to hear. They really seemed willing to help out. I'm glad you felt well enough to eat. I've eaten there once when on a CSBA ride and remember the food being good then too. So let's hear about how sore you are. You have to be sore after tackling that car and spinning it around. Save that helmet to show your kids because that's certainly one of the reasons you made it through this so relatively unscathed. Please tell your sister that I'm sorry for alarming her. When I got to you, you were laying there and I assumed you were hurt badly. I was certain that you would be transported. Even the guys working the scene before the ambulance got there assumed you would be transported. I should have waited longer to contact her until I had a full picture of what was going on.
  18. I don't know how we have missed riding together either. My group riding participation has diminished the last two years so that is most likely the culprit behind us missing each other. I'm riding in your group any time you show up though please try to make it on time. Jacob would be so fast with a lighter bike. No doubt riding up front if not leading the group.
  19. ZX14R, now we're talking about real mans power.
  20. You have to push it to the rev limiter. You just hold the throttle waiting for any amount of power to show up and it never does, all the way to the rev limiter. Very disappointing, but somewhere in there torque is hiding.
  21. Your stuff isn't big enough to fill my holster
  22. Oh dear god, not you too. Is it impossible to get shit stirred up around here anymore?
  23. I wouldn't ride a Panigale, only douchebags ride Ducatis
