It's true that it's meaningless to people in their day to day lives, but it starts to have meaning when the government uses that newfound fear, manufactured, real, or otherwise, to infringe upon the day to day lives of people. NOW it starts to have meaning.

You should give a fuck because it's giving the government carte blanche to infringe on your right to free movement. Instead of there being a certifiable threat, the government decides it wants to turn on the fear machine and scare the people into compliance with a bullshit raised threat level. Now I as a law-abiding citizen have to deal with increased security and the police on heightened alert for a "imminent" threat that DOES NOT EXIST. The fact that they have been using this for political gain doesn't surprise me in the least, and it really pisses me off.

If you are going to replace the oil pan, you HAVE to get a Factory Pro shift kit. There is a documented problem with the Katanas and second gear that could potentially bend the shift forks, especially the 88-97's. All that's involved is replacing a small spring, I can get the snap ring tool from a buddy of mine. Unless you want to scrap your motor (it's a royal PITA to replace a shift fork, you're better off getting a new motor with tranny) it's a cheap mod that you're already doing 80% of the work to get to anyway.

Anderson better be all over this. For about $500 you can get this thing back to fighting weight with tires and if you do the prep work yourself, repainting the race fairings. An awesome deal.

Buying a pre (88-97) Kat?! Bring that shit over, we can overhaul the hell out of it. I've had my 02 Kat apart long enough to play with almost every subsystem on there, and the 88-97's aren't much different unless you really get down in there.
