  1. **Posting for a client, for further details or to arrange to see the car please contact Amy @ (614) 769-4110 ** I'm not sure how many of you know Ron (AI Coupe here on the board) but he recently lost his battle with cancer and his family is looking to sell his beloved C5Z. I just did a small detail on it to get it ready and agreed to post here for some local attention. Details: Millenium Yellow 2003 Corvette Z06. *50th Anniversary Special Edition. *405HP. * 30,000 miles. * Newer Goodyear Eagle F1 Yellow front mask Completely stock with no modifications Car is in excellent condition. Always garaged. *Fresh detail exterior/interior * $26K. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/sidestables.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/rear.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/front.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/wheel.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/interiorpassenger.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/interiordash.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/interiorwheel.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/interiordriver.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/badgetrunk.jpg
  2. My wife even enjoyed it, we saw it in the cinema and then rented it at home too
  3. Don't shoot the messanger. Insurance is a state regulated business, the state has the final say in approving the way companies calculate risk.
  4. All things considered looks like a pretty clean car for a decent price. Any paint or body work history? My A4 has an early K03 that's still functional at over 200k miles, however you've pretty much got to budget a turbo replacement on that thing sometime in the near future.
  5. Agent isn't blowing smoke, unless there's more drivers than cars all drivers are assigned to a car and all are considered primary operators. Only way around that is to proove that the child is away at college over 100 miles from home and the car still is garaged at the primary residence. I wrote insurance rating logic for 10 years, Depending on standard vs. nonstandard logic drivers were either averaged as a whole and that average factor applied against all vehicles, or for nonstandard risk we automatically rate the highest rated driver vs. the highest rated vehicle. The problem with rolling the kid and the car off on their own policy is it's usually MUCH more expensive that way, if you're just trying to isolate it so that the kid can pay their own insurance policy they will still get some of the benefits of being in your household but not all of the same benefits of just being on the same policy as you. So if your kid is paying their own insurance cool, otherwise keep them on your policy it will save you money if you're footing the bill.
  6. This +2 However as stated earlier you owe it to yourself to talk to an agent and come to an informed decision of what you feel you need first as far as coverages go, THEN shop around and make sure it's an apples to apples comparison using all the same coverages and deductibles on those amounts. Online quotes often get only enough information to get you a figure that interest you enough to look into that company further, Until you bind you really don't know exactly what your rate is going to be though. For low risk adult drivers I pretty much guarantee that the rates of State Farm will not be beat. They have the lowest cost model thus lowest rates in the industry even over companies that don't have exclusive agents to sell their product (progressive). State Farm owns a nearly majority share of the insurance market in the US for this very reason. They'll likely never be overtaken as the #1 carrier in our lifetime. However as risk increases so do their rates to the point of not being cheaper than the rest in those risky situation. With a teen in household they may not be the best bet for you, only way to tell is call to find out.
  7. Porsche tax. The JRZ triples on my car were $10k. I wasn't dumb enough to pay that but the previous owner was. I don't particularly like the body kit on that car either.
  8. I'd like to see a pic too, Could be they're as good as they're gonna get, could just need some more polishing / refining. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, Sounds like you've got it pretty much sorted but if i can help just let me know.
  9. I always hated being short growing up...don't mind one bit now. Still haven't solved the fat part but that's why they make XL seats
  10. nice work, I will own a Daytona one day.
  11. I'd love to lease a new GT3, track the crap out of it for 3 years, take it to the dealer every time anything was wrong with it, at the end of the 3 years when it's got 5000+ hard track miles give it back and start over with a new one. Of course they don't lease them anymore for this very reason. Other than this scenerio a lease doesn't work for me. I do most of my own mechanical work so warranty isn't a huge issue for me and I get attached to cars and never feel the need to get rid of them (I've had the Audi nearly 10 years now).
  12. Still kinda burns me that the responsible party self-tech'd his car, ignored the brake fluid, and as a result this incident happened.
  13. Richard, in addition to the groups you mention the founder of Torqued Racing Solutions is on this forum and organizes a couple of lapping events every year at Putnam and Nelson. It's a very low key group to run with and provides quite a bit of track time. Those would be good events to look into doing as well this year. http://torquedracingsolutions.com/ Andy
  14. power to weight is basically the same as a stock C6 Z06 (6lbs per HP). So should be around an 11.7 with reasonable traction. Then again you've already stated it previously had a 205 tire on the back and that's certainly not going to hook so who knows. plus you should make it go left and right and forget about straight line stuff
  15. Richard, welcome to CR. I met you last year at mid Ohio. I think we met the weekend my GT3 broke a coolant fitting. Nice having another track rat on this board Andy
  16. Kyle, welcome to CR. as I stated elsewhere your work looks top notch. You did that car justice Andy
  17. Not anymore. The last season they started showing the full show. Was about 90 min with commercials.
  18. Looked closer...you could only get Passat in 4Motion with a 1.8 or V6, not TDI. sorry.
  19. Passat and Jetta can both be had in TDI and both can also be had in Wagon. Passat can even be AWD in which case it nails down all the criteria.
  20. I ended up going the Gazelle route with our 3GS after listing it for a fair price and getting lowballed to death on it. They estimated $102 and we got $102. Whole process took less than 2 weeks to get the money in our paypal account. It's really the most painless process I've ever gone through. Box shows up, put your phone in there and postage back is already paid. Just have to drop it off on the way to work or something.

    Headphones.

This. I was soo close to getting a set of the 225's however I use my headphones at work and couldn't do the open air design without disrupting others around me. They are the most amazing headphones I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Just couldn't justify it for limited use I don't often back Bose products but I honestly think that for the money their basic Tri-port headphones ($150 I think) have very good sound quality. Maybe a little heavy on the Bass but I like stuff that way so they fit my needs fine. Being pretty rough on headphones and going through a pair of Tri-Port's about every year (my own fault not the product...I use them detailing, at the gym, etc they get knocked around a good bit), I decided to try to find something cheaper this last go around and the Sennheiser HD428's are what I wound up with. $50-80 depending on where you get them. Sound quality not on par with the Bose, certainly not the Grado howevr it's not bad by any means and I won't feel as bad when I bust them up.
  22. tried it earlier this week, not soo good.
  23. Grassroots is about the only one I actually read anymore these days. I still get European Car and Euro Tuner but I mostly just look at the pictures then move on. Since getting an iPad there's really no need for all of those magazines to be stacked on the shitter anymore...it does a good job of taking their place.
