  1. You got enough money to burn a wet mule.
  2. If you are barrowing money at 5% (minus 25% tax deduction or whatever your tax rate is), and you can easily earn 8% over time with passive index fund, it just doesn't add up to pay the mortgage off early. It's not even close...the difference can be 6 figures. I agree it's counter intuitive. Most people don't believe it. There are many articles on the subject that take into account interest rates since before the Great Depression. The math always says don't pay off early. Some people sleep better with no mortgage...I get that. I'd rather be shitting in tall cotton when I retire.
  3. Whether you understand the math or not, paying off a house early doesn't make financial sense. Now, there might be some personal value to you, or peace of mind for being able to say your house is paid off. Perhaps that offsets the money you lost.
  4. It's a financially terrible decision to pay cash for a house. Honestly, a bigger down payment or paying off a mortgage early doesn't make financial sense either... because math.
  5. CA was a nightmarish hellscape long before this.
  6. An experienced real estate agent makes a big difference. Part time hobby agents not so much.
  7. The guy got on the gas heading into a nice "S" curve. I thought he was going to accelerate through it. He checked up at the last second. So I passed on the inside. Kind of a dick pass, but I had room.
  8. Passed a CBR in corner. Kind of a dick pass, felt good though.
  9. Thanks for sharing numbers Nivin. I place more stake in data than headlines 👍

I like the retro BMW paint. That exhaust is gawd awful. As stupid as forward controls are, the cruiser crowd likes them...that will prevent any sales success. These will be deeply discounted in 2 or 3 years.
  12. I had the same symptoms for 3-4 weeks around Christmas...except no digestive stuff, but I did have a fever for 3-4 days. It wasn't awful, just annoying and wouldn't go away. It was diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection at the time, and I was told it would clear eventually. Looking back, I don't think it was COVID. My gf (who would be considered high risk) had similar symptoms a few weeks later, but the kids never had symptoms. Hard to know for sure without tests.
  13. We have 3 little kids in the house that are now eating every meal at home. I have been buying 4-5 gallons at a time, which last about 7-8 days. That is what determines how long we can go between trips to the store. You can freeze milk, but I haven't been doing that. I may give it a try.
  14. Casinos, cruise lines, airlines, oil companies were especially hard hit. I took a position in Marathon oil (MRO) at a deep discount. Oil is at an 18 year low. I anticipate some upside when people are driving again and we get through the over supply we currently have
  15. I am riding it out. My overall strategy accounts for a bear market. I did buy a couple on the dip that have a big upside.
  16. Riding it out? Sell and sit out? Buy on the dip?
  17. China has gone to much trouble to appear like a Capitalist country. Make no mistake they are still Communists they just pretend to be Capitalist to benefit from international trade $$ They are still information-suppressing, people-living-in-fear, boot-on-the-throat Communists.
  18. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/wuhan-covid-19-deaths-may-be-in-tens-of-thousands-data-on-cremations-show/ar-BB11T0Vb Thoughts? I've been seeing more and more media outlets speculating that China's COVID numbers are significantly higher than reported.
  19. Haven't been to stores. Is there an ammo shortage again?

    I have MS

Sorry to hear that. That's a very quick diagnosis of MS. Sometimes it can take years to identify and diagnose. So many auto immune diseases, lupus, ms, mg, etc all have very similar symptoms. I've been going through it with my GF for years. Probably doesn't seem like it....but if you do have MS it's better to know sooner than later and get moving on a treatment plan. Having MS 20 years ago was much different than today. Treatment, mitigation, and prognosis have come a very long way. It can be managed so much better with way less impact. Tip - If you are still dealing with the Vertigo, try a CBD vape. My GF dealt with Vertigo for months, sometimes for 2-3-4 hours without a break. The Vertigo meds didn't do a damn thing, but CBD or marijuana would stop the Vertigo in seconds...literally seconds.
