  1. I'd like to get something like these for the CBR. They're from Hong Kong so, who knows... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Billet-Adjustable-Riser-Foot-Pegs-Honda-CBR-600-RR-07-13-08-09-10-11-12-/350976827201?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51b7d95f41&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/360-Adjustable-Riser-Front-Foot-Pegs-For-Honda-CBR-600-RR-07-10-11-12-13-/301065399722?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4618e56daa&vxp=mtr

    FZ1 Questions

Plus jbot looks cray-cray adorbs on his Gen 2.
  3. My next bike purchase will either be a 'sporty' sport tourer or sport naked. I am really liking the 2014 Ninja 1000 ABS. Yamaha has hinted that more models will use the 850cc triple from the FZ-09. I'd really like to see an FJ-09.
  4. I test rode a newer one for someone a couple years ago. My impression was that a beginner would outgrow it rather quickly. The gearbox stood out as the weak point, with the brakes not far behind. Its much less capable than an SV650 which is a great choice for a new rider or an experienced one.
  5. Different groups look at passing differently. This should be a pre-ride conversation, especially when riding with unfamiliar riders. I'll always wave a faster rider ahead. And if they are faster, I want to see their technique anyway. I don't mind getting passed as long as it's not too close or a surprise. There are a few exceptions, and those are the guys I've ridden with for years. I can trust their ability and judgment.
  6. The suspect/target must have watched too many movies if he thought he was going to get away.
  7. If you want to 'fight for the front,' do it by becoming a better rider. On a group ride...faster, smoother riders are waved to the front or asked to lead.
  8. Depending on you goals as a rider, you may want to rethink the Club thing. If you really want to learn how to ride that 1000RR, you aren't going to do it bar hopping in formation wearing a vest. Plus most skilled street & track riders (that have tons of riding knowledge) probably aren't going to join you. Kinda of like you, I have a large group of old friends. None of them like to ride the way I do. So, I found a group that likes sport bikes at hyper legal speeds and they're skilled enough to do it without crashing. We ride every weekend the weather allows. We ride uber twisty backroads. It's ridiculous fun. Beats the hell out of formation rides
  9. It's disappointing, but I am honestly am not surprised. People fear what they don't understand and many people have little to no experience with firearms...including the politicians pushing for gun control. The gun control lobby like to scare uninformed citizens into associating guns with criminals.
  10. It's been discussed here before. Open carry is for attention whores.
  11. In a possibly related story has anyone seen Andrew Bynum this week?
  12. It's about time someone killed that bastard.
  13. Most any modern motorcycle should be able go well beyond 50k if you follow the maintenance schedule. No, I don't consider Harley's to be modern I would have no problem buying a bike with 30k+ if it had good maintenance history, and wasn't beat to death on a track.
  14. I am interested to see how May and Yates do on the new EBRs in WSBK. I'd love to see an American bike do well...but my expectations are more realistic.
  15. Yes. It's horrible. Losing sponsors and interest from factory teams isn't a shift in business strategy to a grass roots race series. They are losing respect and interest from the companies that were once willing to provide financial support. That's not sustainable in any business model. Less prize money is available. Fewer factory rides are available. This will chase talent from AMA to other series...Herrin to Moto2, EBR is moving the Hero Teams of May & Yates to WSBK, PJ Jacobson is racing BSB, etc, etc. I hope AMA has something big to announce, or someone like WERA steps up with a pro series.
  16. I dig war movies, but I thought the commercial looked really cheesy. Glad to hear it's worth seeing.
  17. I'll bet the crooked Chicago political machine is behind at least a few of those 500 homicides. Seriously.
  18. ^^ I used to have a wood burning stove when I lived in a log cabin. I used to put 25# steel weights on it in the winter. They would stay warm for hours after the fire went out.
  19. Do these trip carbon monoxide detectors? I just put a similar heater at my business for supplemental heat during this cold snap.
  20. It seems like AMA roadracing is circling the drain. Maybe it's time for a new organization to step up.
