I plan to be back tot the Cleveland area 4:30ish. There are places to break off and catch 800 or 83 back north.

I'm taking the boring route to Bolivar, turnpike to 77.

OK, there's a group meeting at the Bolivar DQ at 9, wheels rolling by 9:30. The plan is to take the fun route to Marietta. The trip back will include 26 and 800 with a few other good ones thrown in, maybe 260 or 556. I can lead. I'll be on a new bike so the pace will be moderate. I'll probably have to mess with the suspension settings at some point. We'll have the usual pre ride talk in Bolivar so everyone knows what to expect. Different paces are fine as long as everyone is willing to ride within their limits. We'll count bikes at stops...no one gets left behind.

I'm looking to ride an unfamiliar bike on familiar roads Saturday. Thinking Bolivar 9-ish.

Any word on the condition of WV250 this year?

Pretty sure I'm taking the CBR on it's maiden voyage on Saturday.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer (Silver) LT 4.2l 4x4 with 90,000 miles. 100% stock. Properly maintained, runs like a champ. Never been in an accident. I've owned it since 2006, 24k. Most of the 100k maintenance has already been completed...spark plugs, serpentine belt, coolant flush, tranny fluid, etc MSRP was over $42K, asking $8,250. It's an LT2, which is the top option package. I believe it has every option available in 2004 except the Nav system. There is a probe that goes inside the BWD battery from the control box. It monitors the state of the battery, fluid level etc. It triggers an alarm when the battery needs maintenance or is about to crap out.

Good timing for this thread. We are getting pounded by rain, and my power just went out. I still think the battery backup is the best way to go. It's ready the second the power goes out. It will give 12 hours of run time, which could last a day or two depending on how often it's actually running. In extreme cases it won't keep up, but it will keep up 95% of the time when the power goes out. Generators are great too, but you need to be home and awake and get it running/connected before the 'sump' overflows.

I've never used one of these myself, but my neighbor just ripped his out and replaced with a battery backup. He said the water backup couldn't move enough water to keep up.

Depending on how big your opening is, you can get pretty creative with sump pumps. I've considered 2 main pumps, one mounted about 12 inches above the other. The top would kick on if the bottom fails. Both would run if one couldn't keep up. All you need is a 'Y' pipe and a check valve.

You sure about that? If you don't use the BWD battery you will lose some of the failure alarm features, at least on mine.

IMO, this is the best setup you can get. It has several redundant backups..2 pumps and 4 switches. On most pumps the switch fails before the pump. It also has alarms for every failure scenario. It comes prebuilt so the install is simple. Money well spent.

You can test to see if drugs have been in you systems in the past 30 days or so. But there's no reliable test to determine if you're currently under the influence of many common drugs.

My opinion of LEOs is based on my dealings with them over the years (no criminal history here), and a few I know on a personal level. While I know there are 'good cops,' I can't say I've ever met a truly great police officer. I have met a few that seemed like they we more suited to sitting in the backseat of the patrol car. I'm certain that the percentage of 'bad cops' is much higher than anyone is willing to admit.

This video illustrates my general mistrust, dislike, and lack of respect for police officers. They are more than willing to violate civil rights, and in some cases break the law in order to uphold the law. We basically have a bunch of armed, 'C-' students with badges doing whatever the hell they want to. When they fuck up (like killing unarmed motorists in Cleveland) their supervisors get in trouble. Law Enforcement in this country is long overdue for sweeping reform.

Every time you throw a leg over you assume a degree of risk. All of us have decided that the fun/benefits of riding a motorcycle outweigh the risk. I am more than willing to accept the risk for myself, but not for anyone else especially my kids. Kids don't understand this. A youngin' will easily understand the fun part, but cannot comprehend the risk until they reach a certain age...and that is going to be a different age for every kid.
