  1. how much for the XD?
  2. The ride was great, the weather was so-so. The roads were wet from Cleveland to Akron & I got pretty soggy. What better way to dry out then hanging in the breeze for 400+ miles. Other than that, the roads were mostly dry, never really saw the sun until the ride home. I met Uncle Punk in Bolivar @ 9. From there we took some favs to the Ohio River and crossed for a twisty WV loop. Crossed back into OH hit 255 & 800 home. We kept up a brisk sporting pace all day until we split at 77 & 212. We'll have to do it again... Now I have to get ready for a softball double header tonight.
  3. The roads are a little wet this morning, but it doesn't look like any moe rain is in the area. I'm heading out in a few minutes.
  4. It's on 212 about 100 feet from 77.
  5. We should be back to Akron by 2:30 or 3 depending on the route. Bags...we don't need no stinking bags. I don't have an exact route in mind yet. There are plenty of good roads in SE OH. We can do an OH route or cross into WV depending on schedules. I know the roads well so we won't be getting lost either way. I won't say no cruisers, but I will say I generally ride at a pace beyond the capabilities of cuiser suspension and tires. No one will get left behind, you are welcome to come for all/part of the day & see if this is your kind of riding. Again...Bolivar DQ at 9 leaving at 9:15. I plan to be back to Cleveland by 4. Let me know for sure who's going to meet at the DQ.
  6. I thought that was because I slowed it down to ride through the park with some newbs.
  7. Thanks! The baby is doing great & he is keeping us busy. I am still squeezing in some rides, but there won't be any multi-day trips this year.
  8. I'll prolly just ride 1 day this weekend...sounds like you can't do Friday.
  9. I have Firday off, so I'm riding. In Bolivar by 9 leaving at 9:15. The pace wil be brisk, the roads will be twisty. The route will be SE OH and maybe cross into WV. If the weather doesn't cooperate, I'll ride Sunday instead.
  10. 255 is not as fun the other direction. It doesn't flow nearly as well & there are a few gotchas including a hill that will launch both wheels if you crest it over 40 mph or so.
  11. I'll be riding next weekend.
  12. If I didn't already do 2 long rides this week I would be in.
  13. This statement should be on an IQ test. If you agree with it you FAIL.
  14. I realize not everyone is into that kind of mileage. You kinda have to work up to it. It's just about my favorite way to spend a day off. I've done 2,000 miles over 4 days a few times (mostly WV & VA), but with a new baby I won't be doing that this year. I find the twistiest roads possible, limit stops to every 120 miles or so, and avoid highway like the plague. I'll prolly do this ride again or something very similiar in July. FOX let me know if you want to plan something.
  15. Too bad there were no brave souls to join this one. I logged 615 miles for the day & the weather was perfect. The route was basically Cleveland>>Bolivar>> SE to Hundred, WV>>SW to Smithville WV>> back home via some of most twisty roads in OH and WV. Time for a new tire.
  16. I am planing on a LONG (500+ miles) ride on Wednesday. The weather is looking perfect. So far it's a solo ride, but if anyone wants to meet, I will be in Bolivar around 8:30 am. The route will be WV and SE OH. The pace will be brisk, the stops will be short, & the roads will be twisty.
  17. Rob, If you file a claim, make sure they cover all your gear. Anything that touched the ground shoud be covered.
  18. Skrew and I trailered to Bolivar once 5 or 6 years ago. Honestly, it was more of a PITA than anything. If you can't handle the ride to Bolivar, you prolly aren't going to dig the 300-400 mile loop through SE OH anyway.
  19. It was quite a turnout. We left Bolivar with 10 bikes split into a fast group & slow group. We rode a moderate pace to Barnesville where we picked up 6-8 more and 2 more after that. We wound up with 3 or 4 groups. Most continued to Hannibal where we regrouped at a gas station & plotted our courses home. I logged a little over 400 miles for the day. I wasn't in the group with the get off, but there are a couple tricky turns on 536, including a 15mph right hander. Many 15 mph turns you can take 2-3 times the posted speed, but this one is really a 15mph turn. It's a decreasing radius that closes up after you're committed... http://www.ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=28843
