In that case, Route 66 would be my choice. I'm sure there is plenty to see along the way. The great thing about a trip without a firm destination is you can explore and follow whatever catches your eye.

It depends what kind of riding you like to do. Do you want to reach a destination, or do you want to ride fun, curvy roads? I've done two trips through WV and VA that were about 2,000 miles over 4 days. There are some amazing, unknown backroads in that area. Seneca Rocks & Canaan Valley (WV) are great motorcycle destinations. One of these days I'm going to ride to Vegas.

I've ridden that area, but it's been about 3 years. If I can make it, I'll prolly take 93 from Beach City to Coshocton. Any idea how long it takes to ride the loops around Coshocton? Oh...and it looks like there will be a big turnout. How did they organize the ride last time? I'm guessing they split into a few groups.

+1 for the cats Eslick showed Hacking his front wheel 3 or 4 times in that same turn earlier in the race. Hacking must have known it was coming. Call it aggressive or dirty, he got the win. Nevermind...I just found out that Buell uses a larger displacement front wheel than the rice rockets. AMA, Elvis, George Bush, and the aliens in Area 51 are all in on it...this is huge...conspiracy, conspiracy, conspiracy. :violin::violin::violin::violin:

An air cooled twin...really? Come to think of it...the Triumph 675 should be on the podium every race. After all it has a displacement advantage, and that's the only thing about racing I can understand.

I think a track like Mid-Ohio (not a top speed track) favors twins...just like Road America favors I4s. I think that is pretty damn equal. Comparing displacement across different engine configurations is basically meaningless. Dynamic displacement is a far better measure.

Dude, it's not like Eslick os a scrub on a world beater bike. That pass he made on Hacking on Sunday proves that he is one of the top 2 riders in the class. If Buell swept the podium, I would agree with you.

And the power delivery between the twin and the I4 is completely different & the twin is penalized with weight. Again...What would be fair rules for a class where 600cc I4s and twins can compete with an equal chance of winning? I see lots of complaining, but no answers.

I have a question for all the people that are bent about the Buell: What would be fair rules for a class where 600cc I4s and twins can compete with an equall chance of winning? The Duc 848 is the best middleweight twin on earth an it isn't anywhere near a top 10. There have been 14 races, I4s have won 9; twins (Buells) have won 5.

I raced a Harley today and after some really hard riding I managed to pass the guy. I was riding on one of those really, really twisting sections of mountain road with no straight sections to speak of and where most of the bends have warning signs that say "MAX SPEED 25 MPH". I knew if I was going to pass one of those monsters with those big-cubic-inch motors, it would have to be a place like this where handling and rider skill are more important than horsepower alone. I saw the guy up ahead as I exited one of the turns and knew I could catch him, but it wouldn't be easy. I concentrated on my braking and cornering. Three corners later, I was on his mudguard. Catching him was one thing; passing him would prove to be another. Two corners later, I pulled up next to him as we sailed down the mountain. I think he was shocked to see me next to him, as I nearly got by him before he could recover. Next corner, same thing. I'd manage to pull up next to him as we started to enter the corners but when we came out he'd get on the throttle and out-power me. His horsepower was almost too much to overcome, but this only made me more determined than ever. My only hope was to out-brake him. I held off squeezing the lever until the last instant. I kept my nerve while he lost his. In an instant I was by him. Corner after corner, I could hear the roar of his engine as he struggled to keep up. Three more miles to go before the road straightens out and he would pass me for good. But now I was in the lead and he would no longer hold me back. I stretched out my lead and by the time we reached the bottom of the canyon, he was more than a full corner behind. I could no longer see him in my rear-view mirror. Once the road did straighten out, it seemed like it took miles before he passed me, but it was probably just a few hundred yards. I was no match for that kind of horsepower, but it was done. In the tightest section of road, where bravery and skill count for more than horsepower and deep pockets, I had passed him. Though it was not easy, I had won the race to the bottom of the mountain. I will always remember that moment. I don't think I've ever pedalled so hard in my life. And, some of the credit must go to Schwinn, as well. They really make a great bicycle...

The good news is that Buell manintenace (I'm speaking XB, I don't have any ass time on an 1125) is simple DIY. If you are mechaniclly inclined at all, there really isn't much reason to rely on a dealer.

Well that's ghey. It sucks to have to walk past 12 racks of Pirate Costumes to find the Buell stuff on the back wall. As a whole, HD's demographic is aging. It's in the dealer's best interest to get some younger blood in the door. Maybe if the sell & support Buell today they can sell you an Electra-Couch in 10 years.

Dweezel, I believe the mods are listed onthe Buell site. I'm guessing HD Church is the dealership...unfortunately that is the worst part of owning a Buell. I had one of the certified 'Chrome Installers' do some damage, now I do all my own service. Many HD dealerships just don't get sporbikes & have no idea how to sell them or appeal to riders. Buell has pulled out of many HD dealerships for that reason. I would love to see Buells for sale next to BMWs, Ducs, and Aprilias. Locally, Western Reserve in Mentor is one of the better Buell dealerships in the country. Lake Erie in Avon is coming around. I've heard good things about AD Farrow, but I've never actually dealt with them.

From a Buell insider that who just may be high up on the chain... "And celebrate that Taylor finished 7th in DSB and 12th in Superbike, meaning the 1125RR is on it's way. Not bad for the first outing for a modified 1125R that is still 20mph down on the field with about 160RWHP vs. over 200 on the Japanese bikes. I have never in my life seen such absurdity as has been circulating on some web sites. The 1125RR is an 1125R with a kit of parts that is available to anyone. For the price of what Graves or Erion will build you a DSB bike, you get a Superbike. The AMA wanted us to install the kits at the factory to make the bikes easier for a privateer to race, and since it was assembled and shipped from the factory kitted for racing, the bike had to become a new model to avoid EPA, etc. Y'know when Ducati was starting out, all kinds of breaks were given to them and everyone applauded. There were huge breaks for the Foggy Petronas and Benelli, all who had more money than Buell. Yet here we are with a tiny American company doing the same thing, and the haters come out in force."

The box says 20-100 ft/lbs. For 10 lbs, you would prolly want a lighter wrench that measures inch/lbs.
