  1. Hmmm. 1. I'm sure Buell had pemission before they started development. 2. What favor? After Buell won a few, they made them add weight, which dropped them back in the pack. What is the difference if Buell makes a streetbike and then Buell Racing modifies it within the Suberbike rules vs. Suzuki makes a streetbike then Rockstar Makita Suzuki modifies it within the Suberbike rules? The only real difference is that the mods are made before/after the racing team actually gets ahold of it. I'm QUITE CERTAIN that RMS has at least $28k of mods on Mladin's bike. As much as I like my Buell...I don't really think Knapp is going to beat Mladin.
  2. Not easily...belts are continuous. They would need to manufacture different belt lengths for each gearing combination.
  3. Maybe I'm missing something. What exactly is the controversy?? American Superbikes all have direct roots to production street bikes and, not surprisingly, each eligible model represents the most powerful motorcycle available from top manufacturers such as Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Aprilia, Buell, Ducati and others. The big-bore bikes all produce at least 1000cc in engine displacement from a variety of twin and multi-cylinder powerplants. Four-cylinder, four-stroke machines have a minimum post-race weight of 375 pounds and are limited to 1000cc engines, such as the Suzuki GSX-R1000, Honda CBR1000RR and Yamaha R1. Two-cylinder, four-stroke machines must tip the scales at a minimum post-race weight of 390 pounds but can exceed 1000cc in displacement, such as the Buell 1125CR and Ducati 1098R.
  4. Laguna was a joke. I've never seen a mess like that in any level of racing.
  5. On the street belts are superior. On the track a chain allows for gearing changes.
  6. That's great! I will do a trip like that someday on a sport tourer.
  7. I would NEVER do that to my bike, but I would definitely do it to Pauly's bike in a heartbeat.
  8. You should look into a 04+ F4i. The ergo's are near VFR-like, but it's much lighter and handles better.

    Front Stand

U.P. It doesn't look like I'm gonna need the front stand. I have it disassembled and have the motor rotated down for service. It wasn't that complicated of a job. I took it slow to make sure it was done correctly. So far so good...
  10. can you send some pics?
  11. It was definitely a fun ride. U.P. was fast on 255, he waited for me. There are a few roads where I dial it down when the sight lines aren't great, like 536, 555, and 255. 255 is the most fun of those 3, but still not one of my favorites. U.P. Next time we can go a bit deeper into WV, there are a few roads similiar to 250, but in better condition.

    Front Stand

Sometime this week, I need to find a day to head that way after work.

    Front Stand

U.P. It's for the Buell. The Buell uses the same pin as the ZX6R, per the Pit Bull site. I'll prolly need to have it on a stand for a couple weeks...so I wouldn't want to inconvenience you if you'll need it soon. Long story...but the previous owner cross threaded a spark plug

    Front Stand

Anyone near Parma, have a front stand (the pin type) that you are willing to let me borrow for a week or 2?
  15. What is the condition? Are the mags hi-caps? What is the aftermarket barrell...is stock pipe is still there?
  16. how much for the XD?
  17. The ride was great, the weather was so-so. The roads were wet from Cleveland to Akron & I got pretty soggy. What better way to dry out then hanging in the breeze for 400+ miles. Other than that, the roads were mostly dry, never really saw the sun until the ride home. I met Uncle Punk in Bolivar @ 9. From there we took some favs to the Ohio River and crossed for a twisty WV loop. Crossed back into OH hit 255 & 800 home. We kept up a brisk sporting pace all day until we split at 77 & 212. We'll have to do it again... Now I have to get ready for a softball double header tonight.
  18. The roads are a little wet this morning, but it doesn't look like any moe rain is in the area. I'm heading out in a few minutes.
  19. It's on 212 about 100 feet from 77.
  20. We should be back to Akron by 2:30 or 3 depending on the route. Bags...we don't need no stinking bags. I don't have an exact route in mind yet. There are plenty of good roads in SE OH. We can do an OH route or cross into WV depending on schedules. I know the roads well so we won't be getting lost either way. I won't say no cruisers, but I will say I generally ride at a pace beyond the capabilities of cuiser suspension and tires. No one will get left behind, you are welcome to come for all/part of the day & see if this is your kind of riding. Again...Bolivar DQ at 9 leaving at 9:15. I plan to be back to Cleveland by 4. Let me know for sure who's going to meet at the DQ.
  21. I thought that was because I slowed it down to ride through the park with some newbs.
  22. Thanks! The baby is doing great & he is keeping us busy. I am still squeezing in some rides, but there won't be any multi-day trips this year.
  23. I'll prolly just ride 1 day this weekend...sounds like you can't do Friday.
