  1. I changed over to the 55 profiles a couple of sets ago & like the quicker turn in over the 50s. I have run & liked the power 1s but feel they are a bit pricy & questionable for rain. Thanks for the feedback.
  2. Double duty but not as much as I'd like at the track.
  3. I'm about due for tires on my 1000rr. Currently running Michelin Power Pures but considering switching to Dunlap Sportmax Q2s. Any first hand feedback would be appreciated.
  4. I'll be keeping an eye out for yous.
  5. Chances are way over 50% of the driving population here in the good old USA never learned how to drive properly & really shouldn't have a license in the first place. But they do. We do have laws against much of the distracted driving stupidity we all see on the roads every day but the police are too distracted with their laser/ radar guns to pay attention. I think a more reasonable course to take with distracted driving problem is to outlaw laser & radar speed enforcement. This would free up the police to go do their job. If you can text without taking your eyes or your mind off the road then you are texting & driving safely. Otherwise you are just believing your own BS.
  6. Welcome. I bought my 250r from Honda East in march. After the ride back it was obvious to me why you guys over there are into the straight line stuff.
  7. Happy birthday OR. This is the best motorcycle (& only occasionally other things) website I've seen. People on here actually get together & ride. What a novel concept. Great job Ben.
  8. Good luck with your decision. Let us know what you get & your initial impression. Inquiring minds want to know.
  9. Glad you got a bike you like. My brother likes his V-Strom 1000. I've ridden it & it seems that it would make a great all arounder. I felt like a long inverted pendulum when cornering but I think thats just because of the contrast to my CBRs. Many happy miles to you.
  10. I'm only scared of the poisonous ones. Hope your crazy brother feels better soon. Do you think he learned anything here?
  11. FYI-Bonneville vs 696: hp @ crank 66 vs 80, wet weight 495 vs 384, torque @ crank 50 @ 5800 rpm vs 51 @ 7750.
  12. My wife has a monster 696 & its a nice bike to ride. It is suited to those of small stature though. It's power output is a sufficient 69 horses at the wheel with that L-twin torque. It will do 0-60 in less than 4 seconds & tops out at about 130. The place it really shines is when turned loose on a tight twisty road. What type of riding do you do? If you are considering the 696 you might take a look at the monster 796 or the triumph street triple. The Bonneville sacrifices a bit of sports agility to stick to its retro roots.
  13. Just got my first order from Nathan at Riders Discount the other day. The Joe Rocket pants I ordered arrived promptly & at a good discount. I recommend.
  14. Anybody here ever sleep in a hotel? If yes, chances are you slept on a well used mattress. Try not to think about it too much. I certainly would never buy a used mattress though.
  15. Welcome. The local bike shops don't carry that much inventory. Try Ohio Motorcycle in Oakwood village or State 8 in Peninsula. Rider's Discount (sponsor here) has good prices.
