At least you're not on a jagermiester bender.

    Valley view 8-1

The words "absurd" & "lemmings" come to mind.
  3. Definitely too many crashes on group rides lately. Maybe reading "The Pace" should be a prerequisite.
  4. Welcome back I guess. Learn any self control while you were away?
  5. Have her do a walk in for the MSF course. They usually have a few people that are registered not show up.
  6. Here's how it went with my wife. Signed her up for the MSF course. She started worrying about taking the course having never ridden a motorcycle. About 2 months before the course I bought her a Suzuki boulevard S40 & she started to ride it around the development. (It was a little unsettling at very first, watching her use her feet for outriggers & take a few street corners wide but that quickly passed. She had always driven a manual transmission car so this part was not a problem.) She took & passed the MSF course. She ended up putting about 3,000 miles on the Suzuki until deciding she wanted a Ducati Monster 696 (her current bike). She never took to serious sport riding & has no aspirations to do track days but she does seem to enjoy riding quite a bit. Good luck with yours.
  7. Nice. Congratulations.
  8. Welcome. Had a Winger on one of my recent river runs. I think he passed a few Harleys that day.
  9. Thighmaster, as seen on tv.
  10. Yes, there are definitely some whack jobs out there. I've come across a few. I'm with the no antagonization, stay the he'll out of their way crowd on this one.
  11. What was the speed of your best run at Bonneville?
  12. Welcome. Believe it or not, the owners manual for your bike says the oil change interval is 8000 miles. Seems cruel.
  13. Sweet bike. Looks like he took a few pounds off of it.

    High beams

It doesn't hurt to have a bike with a bright yellow fairing as well.

    High beams

Meaning weave slightly so instead of seeing a seemingly fixed single point of light the observer sees some side to side motion, getting their attention. It works & isn't as obnoxious as a headlight modulator.
  16. Welcome. Good site for good & bad advice. Also a pretty good site to find semi organized rides.

    High beams

I don't use my high beam except at night when there is no oncoming traffic. I do a safety wobble when approaching someone that might cut me off. I think that a glaring high beam just mesmerizes some drivers & gives them something to target fixate on. So far so good.
  18. I use an even lower tech device: 2" wide painters tape & a sharpie for shorthand directions on the tank. Maps are dangerous for on the fly nav.
