  2. Mid Ohio charges $75 a day for leathers. I think they have Speed & Strength brand. At this price it's not too hard to justify buying your own.
  3. 5k Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs. 3k Michelin Power 1s.
  4. Rode last Wednesday, Saturday, yesterday, & today.
  5. Welcome fellow Ridgebilly.
  6. It's only illegal if police are present! Pretty minor issue in my opinion.
  7. Started mine up on Sunday. Ended up doing some light duty riding for a couple hours. That was nice (like porno). Can,t wait till the roads/tires warm up a bit for the real thing.
  8. My bachelors in mechanical engineering has served me well for the past 3 decades. My hat is off however to those that persue a degree in something they are passionate about with monetary payback being 2ndary to their passion.
  9. Been there, done that. Hope you feel better soon.
  10. Shell, Sunoco, or some little podunk place that only sells regular through rusty old fashioned analog readout pumps. When you need gas & you are away from civilization you take what you can get.
  11. I went out for 50 miles or so yesterday evening myself. Not bad but I really don't trust that my tires will come up to temp with the cold roads. I don't push very hard in the cold because crashing sucks.
  12. Welcome to OR. It's good to see another west sider on board.
  13. My parents named me Jim (not James) & my brother Tom (not Thomas). I've had people in the bureaucracy argue with me that my legal name has to be James. Goes to show just how narrow minded some people can be when it comes to names.
  14. Welcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing you on some rides this year. I work in Brooklyn & live in N Ridgeville.
  15. I love the one about the harley's exhaust note. Sounds like flatuance. Maybe that's why all those "good looking" womens are so attracted.
  16. 536 = Tar snakes & gravel. Lots of gravel driveways intersecting. Gravel induced crash there last year myself. Dragon = No gravel, great pavement, lots of police. Have fun on your ride but beware.
  17. This has been all good advice. I've noticed that it's easy not to notice dehydration until it's too late or almost too late while riding. I think that this is due to the fact that you don't notice how much you sweat because of the drying effect of the wind. Also, especially in the twisties, your mind is too busy calculating trajectories & the like to notice that you're thirsty right away.
  18. If you get the chance, take a loop of the Olympic peninsula. Definitely Gods country there but rain gear is required. I have spent a bit of time in the Seattle area for work. I just wish I would had a bike when I was there. Have a fun & safe journey.
  19. Just another symptom of the dumbing down of America. I have no doubt that some politician will see this 1 in 5 statistic as a sign that the drivers test needs to be made even easier. And while they're at it, there needs to be law requiring seat belts on motorcycles. (Don't laugh, legislators have tried.)
  20. Euro-Scandinavian-mutt. German, Irish, English, Swedish. The ancestors hopped the pond quite a while back.
