  1. Very true, but he was talking about a .380 for home defense...I would much rather have a 5 inch shot pattern than a .380 round for home defense purposes. My point was that with the .380 you would have to have a more strategically placed shot to bring the perp down where as with the shotgun you could hit him about anywhere in the upper half of the body and he is going down. I wasn't really going for the aiming vs. pointing thing, but you do make a good point.

No, you are totally correct about .380 vs 12ga. Just didn't want anyone thinking using a shot gun is a 100% guarantee you hit the target.

  2. Just want to add, a shot gun is not a point in his direction and you can't miss, type of weapon. It still needs to be aimed. At close range like in your home, you will only have a shot pattern of about 1 to 5 inches. Shot patterns will increase the farther away the target is.

  3. Damn this is so sad. Kids have no respect and no discipline anymore. My class had 97 in it. There were obviously the clicks; preps, jocks cheerleader, goth, nerds...but everyone got along for the most part. I was brought up to treat others as you would want to be treated. I may not have liked someone for whatever reason, but I never felt the need to bully them.

The school said the lost the records when switching computers is bull shit. That school is full of shit. I will never live around the Cleveland area. Too much horse shit up there.

Pretty girl, it is too bad she will never reach her full potential.

  4. Yea thanks that helped me out a lot, my dad was saying that i have to take a hunters saftey course, im safe about guns because he has taught me how to handle, store, and clean them. I just recently got a new apartment so its to late.

No, it isn't too late. If you just recently got an apartment, according to the Castle Doctrine that was passed into law before you signed, then you are allowed to have guns and the owners cannot stop you. If there is a clause in your contract that says you can't, I would imagine that would be a violation of law and you can get around it.

    INAL.

  5. Chevy -

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but why should we believe that the photo shown was taken on the date claimed?

You shouldn't. I spent a little time and this photo came up in numerous places as being taken at the Beck Rally. I didn't find one instance where it was said otherwise.

I posted in in response to other threads where no one seemed to have a vague idea of the numbers. For those that didn't read the website it says those number estimates on the picture are from when the National Park Service conducted counts. Those are their estimates, not Beck's are anyone who would benefit from inflating the numbers.

I'd hope that nothing I ever post is taken as 100% fact. Research it yourself and if I am wrong, tell me. That is not directed at you redkow, just in general.

  6. just glancing at the thread title i thought it said 12 hours, then when i started reading the post i realized it was 12 tours. i don't know which is worse

I had said it a few post up but an Army tour in the middle east is usually a year. They try to keep soldier's from being there for more than 365 days because the first day of every month after 12 is an extra $1,000 in the soldier's pocket. I do know some guys that have had 18 month tours over there though. He was a ranger so I can only speculate it is the same time frame for them also.
